Awesome, more 'gaijins', just what we need, www ~ Anyways, you are not alone; idk why but most of my non-Japanese friends think Japan is like a haven lol. One of them actually ended up moving in Japan to become an English tutor and told me coping with the language (even though I gave him some pointers/fluent in it) and the people is actually quite hard but an experience. Also: if you're moving just because of anime/planning to date a Japanese and not a career choice, then I would advise you to stop right now. |

Unless you have a political job or are trying to do business in Japan (you aren't)otherwise you'll be looking at a career in English tutoring or something language related. Rethink your life and your priorities I doubt going to Japan is a good idea. And grow the fuck up. |

Gear Third - Gomu Gomu Gomu JET PISTOL!!!! That one is for him anyways this is not supposed to be a spam topic so back on topic. I have never actually been to japan either my self. Its like my dream vacation one of these days when i get enough funds to go. Although i don't know jack about Japanese so it would be a damn good idea to learn some Japanese before going their. That is the best advice i can give the OP. |

@link9us Yup, you definitely want to learn some of the language. I made the mistake of not knowing any Japanese when I went. Needless to say I got lost in a small town in the middle of nowhere and had to sleep on a JR Station bench for a whole night. I was so embarrassed when I woke up. I felt like an ant. |

I'd have to agree with learning Japanese first. That should keep you busy for a few years, at least. |

Grass is always greener on the other side. Do some research on people who have moved there from abroad already. You'll learn more of the pros and cons. If you're fine with the cons (I personally don't like the Japanese cons) then go ahead. |

I'm not an anti-American but I'm just stating that the US government and 'everything else' are terribad. Come on bros, this guy needs some advice on his career choice/future; telling someone to 'grow the fuck up' is uncivilized. Let's help this kid and move on. @Slumdogg: I appreciate you thinking about your future at an early age. Instead of asking 'teh forums', research it yourself and actually talk to someone who has made the same career choice. You'll be blown away on the intel you get. |

First off, I know you're enthusiastic and all but please consider this option once you have gained a bit more knowledge on Japan, its people, and its culture. Wanting to move to Japan based off of your like for anime is not a really good reason. I'm sure you'll enjoy moving to Japan, but think about the actual living conditions and whatnot first. It's rather expensive there. How will you deal with the language barrier? Think about those first. |

Uprooting yourself and moving to a completely different country because of your hobby is fucking dumb. Re-think your situation. |

Moving to a new country is in fact something that all people should do in there lives at some point. If you haven't ever considered something like that, then in my opinion, you should "Re-think your situation." Never understood people who stay in the same city/country all there lives. You make it sound like moving is such an easy task that is readily available to every person. |

I'm also going to move to Japan (although I'm not moving there for the same reasons as the OP, and not for a few years yet) and I agree that he needs to do more research and have a better plan, but I think it's commendable that he's considering moving to a completely different country and culture and definitely think he should go for it. I find it quite sad that some people are so negative and are basically trying to stop him/ruin his dream. "If you love someone Follow your heart Cause love comes once If you’re lucky enough" |

If someone is happy with where they are, why should they consider moving elsewhere? Of course, there's the experience of living somewhere new but it's not a necessity of life. I would only think there's a problem if you're unhappy with where you are and don't consider moving elsewhere. |
