IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047445/ Director: Kenji Mizoguchi Torrent: http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/3893135 This is a top notch film with awesome acting and a great message to tell. Although it is not a samurai film, it is indeed a film about how the weak, who are oppressed mercilessly by the strong, fight back against their oppressors and make a difference in their community. It is also a strong story of family love, a prevalent theme in Japanese culture. And although it may seem cliche, it is expressed gloriously nonetheless by the acting found in this movie. Did this film present a realistic relationship between the weak and the strong? Modified by JReitan, 05-26-12, 4:56 AM |

A gorgeous film with Mizoguchi's usual theme of women's selfless sacrifice and suffering for their men. |

I liked how Sansho the Bailiff displayed a lovable image of women in Japan in contrast with other Japanese movies that portray women as deceivers like Throne of Blood for example. And both movies are obviously amazing. |
