Time to nominate your favorite anime! Rules are simple, nominate a single anime or second one that someone else has nominated. You may nominate something you have nominated before. You may not nominate an anime that has previously been Anime of the Month (see list below). Any finished anime series, movie, or finished OAV is acceptible. Any anime series currently airing is not eligible. An anime must have a nomination AND a second in order to be put on the final ballot. This thread will remain open until 3 June 2012. Please include a url link to the anime that you are nominating as occasionally the name is repeated, but the series are completely different (i.e. Macross). Previous Winners are as follows: Azumanga Daioh Chobits Clannad Cowboy Bebop Darker than Black Fruits Basket Fullmetal Alchemist Ghost in the Shell Haibane Renmei Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kimi ni Todoke Lovely Complex Michiko to Hatchin Monster Mushishi Nana Samurai Champloo EDIT: Clarified a rule that I should have seen coming. No excuse, but it was late and I was sleepy.EDIT: As of 6:30PM MST, 26 May, the following have been nominated & seconded: Modified by OrlahEhontas, 06-10-12, 8:00 PM |

I'll start it off this month with a nomination for the series that celebrates it's thirtieth anniversary on the 29th of June: Mysterious Cities of Gold. A great series for all ages. |

sbyrstall said: A very good question. And the answer is...Is there a specific age these animes should be?? Nope, just something you feel is worthy of being our "Anime of the Month" for the month of June. Some people choose a theme based on the month. Myself, I went with an anime that is senior in age, began airing in the month of June, and is pretty well accepted as a classic. I'm assuming that Philly nominated "HSotD" because he felt it was a damn good series (at least I hope that's why he nominated it). |

Looking over the previous winners, I found one I knew nothing about...Kiimi ni Todoke, so I looked it up. Looks like a story right up my alley, so I have it queued for future DL. Is season 2 as good? EDIT: I am DLing both now while they are still available....very low seeding on these now. Modified by Furykury1, 05-24-12, 9:45 AM |

Yes, Season 1 and 2 are both very good and once I finished S2 I couldn't get enough so I dove into the manga. Not being much of a manga reader, I probably won't do that. If they do a season 3 I'll look into it. Arigatou! |
