According to Rocket News, a ground-breaking ceremony for an amusement park featuring one piece was held in Dafeng city in China on May 16th. The area of the park will be 135.5 ha and the total cost for the construction will be about $75 million. However, Shueisha, the publisher of One Piece replied to the inquiry of Rocket News that they have not granted an official permission to the project. Although the official Chinese translation of One Piece is "航海王", the name of the amusement part is a theme park featuring "海賊王", which is the common translation of One Piece used in pirated products. Wow, seriously? The One Piece theme park sounds kinda cool, but then again the Chinese are making themselves look bad [for not getting authorization to work on the project]. This is not even the first time things like this happened... |

I could've sworn this happened with Mobile Gundam before. Plato is my friend — Aristotle is my friend — but my greatest friend is truth |

Really? I could have sworn the latter is the official title for One Piece in Chinese. ![]() Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol. |

It's because it's Japanese, the Chinese won't give two squirts of piss about copyrights. Plus, the Chinese would have to pay them. And they won't have any of that. ![]() |

What's with China never getting authorization for things? They should at least realize that it never works out well. Who am I kidding, they won't. |

If I recall correctly, there is a One Piece theme park in Japan as well. Could be wrong though. China trolling again... They don't seem to learn very well. |
