I'm pretty sure it's not the only series like that, but it just caught my attention.

Status: Not yet aired
Score: 9.45 (scored by 11 users)

...What? >_>

How are you supposed to rate something that doesn't even exist yet? To be honest, if it were up to me, I'd remove/not count rating of list items that didn't even start being aired. It doesn't serve any good purpose to have them until then whatsoever.

No, it's probably just that some people don't like anime for the animation, music, character development, plot, voice acting, execution, etc.
They soley enjoy a series just for things like the producer, cast, studio, or other information that is available beforehand.

Though really, this seems to happen mostly with anime sequels...

Or, they're just rating it because they loved the first season and they're pre-rating the second season before it's come out. People do that all the time.

all of those suggestions are null and void when kids under 15 are aloud to rate shows :)

Example: (pulls up a Naruto Review)

Story 10
Animation 10
Sound 10
Character 10
Enjoyment 10
Overall 10

This anime was so great! The Shippuuden series is even better. In this series they were too weak. In the Shippuuden Series everyone is much stronger. I really liked it though. I have to say that this is the best anime I've ever watched.

Would be beter. Kinda like how you can't set items not yet aired as anything other than plan to watch so there must be something (i wouldn't know) that could prevent scores being put on stuff not yet aired.

Based on trailers/previews maybe? I think it's okay, it changes after the first episode anyways...

Yeah, I used to enjoy Naruto, I was all hyped up when the introduced the other Genin (if any of you watched it) then it went downhill from there. Right after the Sasuke Retreival Arc ended and Sasuke turned gay the whole show turned gay.

Shippuuden is just crap. I can't even watch it anymore let alone the manga turned to crap too.

Well, I, for one, don't see anything bad in rating the show before you finish watching it. It would still be a valid mark based on the part of the show that you've watched, and you can easily change it later after watching the rest.
The point being that after you start watching, you already start gaining personal experience with this particular item, and you rate it accordingly. No first hand experience = no rating.

I think rating a show while watching it helps you keep tabs. Because even if a show has an amazing ending it might not be all that great in the beginning. If you mediate how high you can rate it from the start, and modify it on a episode to episode basis, the score should fit the ticket better, so to speak.

A good example of this might be claymore, for instance.
Even though it was good in beginning, the ending sucked horribly, and had I not been keeping tabs on the score from episode to episode then I wouldn't have remembered exactly how much I enjoyed it when I watched it, and the score I would give it in the end wouldn't be as accurate. (As I feel about claymore now, I'd give it a low 6, factoring in the earlier episodes from memory, however when I look at how much I enjoyed it based on the scores of those episodes, I realize that it might deserve a little more credit)

And though I'm against partial scores counting towards the total score, I am thinking that actually rating a show based of trailers and cast and affiliations might be good in representing how much you want to see a series. (Priority doesn't fit enough combinations when you have a large plan to watch list, and there is no option to show the priority in a column, so even if you sort by priority it isn't as easy to tell when one priority level begins and another ends).

So, yeah, I don't know how much episodes you have to see for it to count towards the total score of a series, but I think it would be best with 25% of a series or at least 25 episodes, whichever comes first.

I agree it's not as convenient to use; and I have already proposed to expand on the concept somewhat and actually replace the rating pane of the plan-to-watch series with priority pane. It would be both convenient and right, without causing needless confusion.

I agree xD

In fact, maybe int he "currently watching" and "on hold" lists there should be a replacement of the scores with "priority" since it demonstrates:
How much someone likes an anime
and therefore
How much someone prioritizes that anime.

Right?
(Then again, some people might be influenced by factors surrounding other people's opinions which would mean they'd have to choose between the score indictating how much they want to watch the anime and how much they've enjoyed it thus far).

I personally don't rate anything I haven't seen, however people are free to rate it how they want. If they liked the first Code Geass this rating just shows that they are anticipating and expecting a lot out of the new season. However, either way you choose whether it should be rated or not, you can support each side fully. If you don't like that it's being rated and hasn't air yet you can just ignore it.

You should be able to make your own opinion on it and not rely on ratings or care that some people choose to rate it based on the first season. After all, the ratings will most certainly change once the new season is released.

Makes me want to rate the series a 1 just for the sake of it. I know it's stooping to their level, but, I guess anything goes for stopping overratedness.

Personally though, every series starts off as a 5, then it's up to how things play out to affect my rating.

What the hell happened to ratings not counting until you have seen at least 4 episodes? Also I think it's a shame you will let 59 people deter you from watching Code Geass badseafood since it's probably one of the better cheesy and over the top shows I've seen since the r.o.d ova which is a fav of yours. I just hope you don't kick yourself for ignoring this series if you watch it in a few years time and end up liking it.

Yes, rating it this early is stupid. There's no possible way that score could be reliable... Plus, it also ruins the main purpose of having a rating system in the first place.

The scores that are not weighted go after the worst of weighted scores. So no matter how high the score is, if it's no weighted, it will not reach a high rank.
