well, many people keep talkin about how fast the pace of this anime,
moreover, unlike the original saki story, there's almost no mahjong playin in this anime until epi 4...

is this some kind of joke?
no isnt.
because basically, unlike the saki main story,
the story does not focus on the struggles the main character and her friends to be a winner, but focuses on "what happen at Side A of national mahjong event"
since saki cs will play in B side.
so the viewer will know what happened on side b in the national.

Achiga-hen is mentioned in the manga ... sort of.
On ch 76.

Fujita told The ever awesome Kokaji Pro-sama about the team Akado (the one Kokaji-Pro badly beaten up 10 years ago) coached.

Kouko-chan wondered what the hell the point of telling them about it, though... LOL. (foreshadowing Achiga losing?) - ifw. :D

It is just about them with occasional moments from Kiyosumi. If you are looking for another Saki season, Saki Zenkokou-hen (spell ?) is coming out sometime in 2013. if you can't wait that long, i suggest you read the manga. Mwahahahahahaha!!!!!

It has not been confirmed that Achiga will make it to the finals, and seeing as they are weaker than 2(maybe 3) of the schools in the semi-finals, I doubt they will.

i agree that they are definitely weaker than any of the schools they are facing (by far no competition), but that doesn't mean they aren't going to the finals. its really whoever Ritz Kobayashi wants to win. since the manga has followed them this far, its natural that they get to the finals. after all they did make a promise with nodoka and i have a feeling it will be kept. i believe they are going to the nationals, but that doesn't mean that i believe they are stronger than their opponents, because they obviously aren't. like i said earlier, there is no competition, but achiga will still win, because they are the protagonists.

Mwahahahahahaha!!!!!

Anyway, all the schools have weak and strong players.

Achiga has a weak first player, but their second to fourth players are all pretty strong. And Koromo has to have something to justify her claim that Shizu could spell disaster for Saki. Four top-end players would be enough to put them above any(!) other school we've seen so far. Sumire won't dare aim at Yuu, and Ako and Arata are both strong players. Arata still hasn't been properly explored yet either.
Shindouji has the ultimate tag-team duo, but other than those two they're pretty ineffective. If they get through, then expect Hitomi to pull off a crazy transformation in strength. She'll need to, otherwise the game will never reach the fourth player. She seems even more clueless than Shizu as well. That said, it's possible, and there are hints that Hitomi could genuinely have strength hidden away. And it would be interesting to see exactly what Yoshiko was up to.
Senriyama has already been explored thoroughly other than Ryuuka, so I can't really see them getting through. But anyway, most of their ffirst four player strength comes from Toki - whose strength is rendered useless by Teru (not to mention the fact that she's currently in hospital), and Sera. Izumi would be almost as out of the water as Hitomi from Shindouji in the finals. FunaQ is better, but she's only going to be notable if she actually does start to prioritise play over data collection. And Sera would be up against Hisa and presumably Shibuya going ballistic with yakuman.

Then of course we have Shiraitodai. Teru's strength is overwhelming. As is Awai's. Their middle three players, however, aren't particularly strong. But, as said before, it's been hinted that Shibuya could fire off yakuman after yakuman in the finals. You can't get much more dangerous than that.

While the top 5 players in the match (by my reckoning Teru >>> Awai >> Toki/Mairu >> Sera - Sera is said to be stronger than Ryuuka and she and Shizu are the only wildcards whom we don't really know about yet) don't include any Achiga girls, it's a team tournament and in terms of overall strength Achiga is in the same league as the other three schools at the table.

no, i have read all the chapters and am up to speed. i definitely agree with you in that logically and if it were real, there is absolutely no way Achiga will make it, however, it's a story so it has a author. since it has an author, the author has complete control over who makes it and who doesn't. as much as i wish it were real, it is a manga with an author. in all honesty, i hope that senriyama and shiratoudai win. (it's pretty obvious shiratodai will, because they have oohoshi awai) i seriously don't want achiga to make it, but i think they will, because they are the main characters. it is just natural. trust me, i DON'T want them to make it, but i bet they will because they are the main characters and that's what main characters do. they pull out the incredible win that makes absolutely no sense at all.
