I absolutely adored Kyon's last monologue where he is being tested by himself. It was beautifully done and written and it gave me goosebumps after i finished it. "Of course it was fun!" My favourite part was when he lifted the other Kyons leg off his head and yelled "Don't go asking me stupid questions that are so OBVIOUS!" and cue goosebumps. I was at the edge of my seat, eyes watering and it was everything i hoped for and more. Anyhoo I wanted to know what other peoples thoughts were on that part in the movie. If it's not one of your favourite parts, what is? |

That was my favorite scene too. After i finished the movie, i watched it again a couple of times. I loved the contemplation of whether or not he really wanted things to go back to the way they were. Now, I'm sitting here contemplating whether or not I should start reading the light novels... probably will start reading them after I get off of work tomorrow :D. ![]() |

mandieve said: the books are pretty good and are better than the anime as far as I'm concerned but the movie was really well done. What I mean by this is that as far as the series go, the books are better but the movie is just as good as the book. I'm nearly done the books and I'm dying for them to make a sequel to the movie.Oh you should tell me how that goes i've been thinking about reading them myself! ![]() |

Yeah you should read the novels as they are very good. In my opinion the anime in general does actually improve on the book (mostly in episodes like Live Alive, Day of the Sagittarius and the movie is far better than the book its based on) basically as it is able to show a lot more than tell which the novels aren't the best at. Saying this the novels do offer a lot more insight into Kyon's character through inner monologues and other characters through stories that haven't been animated. Nobody should not read the novels if they are a fan of the anime and vice versa as they both have a lot to offer. |

Ya that whole scene was done brilliantly and was one of the many moments in this movie that gave me goosebumps. But my favourite scene in the movie was at around the halfway point, that whole scene with Kyon and his friends. Knowing Haruhi from middle school, that was so well done, when his friend said that, I instantly remembered he said that in Melancholy Part 1, it all fell into place. Oh my gosh, that was the scene that confirmed i would be giving this a 9. I even considered a 10, but since i wanted him to stay with cute-Nagato, yeah, lol. |

Very amazing and intense scene for me. made me think of all the haruhi-like people in my life and how i dont appreciate them nearly enough for making life fun and interesting. and when kyon says "of course i do" it was almost like really good wedding vows. one of my favorite movies |
