THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Holy shit, this is always so fucking intense when the titans appear. It was interesting to see people praying to the walls, that's new and shows how desperate mankind got through time. Good fight between Annie and Eren, she has the superior skills but I believe she would've lost if she didn't give up on capturing him. She accidentally killed the people in the church, she stopped for a moment there, good to see that she hasn't lost it. She looked a bit sad or something else through the whole fight/chase sequence and just look at her face when Mikasa cut her fingers off, she wasn't the same as in the forest, was it despair, the feeling of defeat, hopelessness, what do you think? Mikasa's expression was quite good there, too, cold like I know it from her. She changed the shape of her fingers to climb the wall, right? If so, then that's new, I wonder if that could go even further. Flashback on Annie, doesn't really explain what the hell happened to make her do all that stuff and I'm not sure if that was even related to the titans, more of a teaser I guess. Flashback got her back from that state of loss and she returned to human from and then there he is again, that fucking giant titan (it is him, right?). Did Annie call him with the smoke from transforming back, no way that was coincidence? Look at Mikasa's face, now you are all FUCKED Modified by Zhou, 05-11-12, 2:39 PM |

She wouldn't loose. She actually defeated Eren. I think she ran because she wanted to get away safely, to go back to her dad, as he asks in the flashback. She's far more experienced as a Titan, she can make her body hard and it's possible that she's better than Eren at unarmed combat. She didn't change the form of her fingers. She made them hard enough to pierce the wall. Becoming a crystal was new, though. Wonder why she can do it. At least it was an acceptable solution to keep her alive AND not giving us answers. And it seemed to me that the giant titan was IN the wall. Like he was trapped there, or was a part of the wall. Seeing Annie's dad apologizing like he made something bad to her makes me think that he had something to do with Eren's dad. Maybe there's a conspiracy there. I thought this chapter would give me answers, but it just raised more questions. |

After reading this chapter, I am still amazed by the quality of the art. It 's like the manga is a big pretext to draw these nude titan bodies with their fluid movements (*joke*)! Each time, the author gives us some pieces of information, but it is still difficult to infer anything from so little. We are bound to wait in a throbbing suspense for a little more... |

Look at Mikasa's face, now you are all FUCKED The way I thought of the flashback was to ensure we understand the motivations on how she has the will to live. It also in a way foreshadows a new person especially since we don't actually get to see their "face" which leads me to suggest that there's something about the father that we still don't realize. |

ok, hardened fingers and turning into a crystal and shit...I can deal with that. But a motherfucken titan in the wall?...now that's fucked up. Did they used titans as support pylons when they erected the great walls or something? Now I wonder if there are more of them...also wanted to see the face of her father QAQ Can't wait for the next ch :D ![]() |

Yeah, that's true but it looks to me like her mind is unstable and you should never underestimate Eren, especially not now when he's conscious in his titan form and has full control over it. I won't say that it would be an easy win but it's totally possible he could win. m4rc0 said: She didn't change the form of her fingers. She made them hard enough to pierce the wall. I totally forgot she could do that. m4rc0 said: Becoming a crystal was new, though. Wonder why she can do it. At least it was an acceptable solution to keep her alive AND not giving us answers. Oh crap, I didn't notice she crystallized. m4rc0 said: And it seemed to me that the giant titan was IN the wall. Like he was trapped there, or was a part of the wall. I disagree, the giant titan looks through the hole and he is so big that there is no way for the sun to shine through. Also, if he really was in the wall (the wall isn't that thick btw, there is not enough place for a titan) it would fall apart after the transformation. But thanks to your point I noticed something, remember the very first time we saw him, he was so big that he could look over the wall, so why is he looking through a hole now. I went back and compared them, it looks like we have a new titan here (their faces look different, at least from what I see), one that is almost as big as our giant titan. So they finally captured her, but I don' understand what happened next. I can only think of two things. Either she tried to transform again, but Eren didn't let her and protected everyone or she used her last remaining strength to call for another titan, actually that was the giant titan, correct? |

No idea why she crystallized and if she called the other titan. I doubt it's the giant titan we know as I said above, it's just weird that he would look through the hole instead of looking over the wall, their faces also look different, only reason I can come up with is that he is spying but that's stupid, their have to be guards on the wall that would notice him. |

Now I wonder if there are more of them... it was bugging me for some time, those walls are too damn huge, and it's not only the height, but the circumference it would be funny if each section of the wall was a transmuted/cristallized giant or the walls were built by giants, that would set a TTGL scenario maybe, or an human popolation test lab there has been given more infos about the walls building, except chapter 2? (p40) http://i22.mangareader.net/shingeki-no-kyojin/2/shingeki-no-kyojin-1813279.jpg but the simpler explanation is as zhou is repeating, it's just a colossal titat who came to take annie back (maybe it's her father titanized) maybe like annie, that titan was an human on the other side who transformed liked the partial shapeshifting/hardening uses annie showed, that slashing kick looked cool :D edit. correction, in the last page it's written the titan is into the wall it's to see if the meaning is, inside the wall phisically or inside the inner walls zone (as one character at the start opf the chapter pointed out, they are in an inner zone) Modified by Zeando, 05-12-12, 9:35 AM |

Every time when I'm about to read a new chapter I think: this chapter probably won't be as awesome as the previous one. But damn, this chapter was also really entertaining. Hello Expo! |

I don't know. Check Mikasa's size in comparison to the depth of the hole. Remember that those walls are very thick. Just check chapter 3. Also, the titan looks inactive. Maybe because it's not getting sunlight for a long time. |

So they capture Annie, but she manages to put some sort of protection around her/puts herself into some sort of sleep state? What a cliffhanger! This is a really exciting manga! =)) |

Titanic Walls! Also, I was wondering, is it possible she crystallized to commit suicide? That was my initial reaction when I saw it happen, now I'm wondering if its to keep herself alive but prevent interrogation? |
