Thumbs up for the fast pace drama. It doesn't feel like dragged out at all. bla bla bla The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.Niko-kun said: On MAL, everyone who has used the lame rating system becomes a critic and an intellectual by default, haven't you heard? |

i liked this episode too but i wish they went into the little backstory between his mother and father like they did in the manga, unless maybe they will go into it later. see: chapter 16 vol 4 |

This anime is really awesome! All the episode feels like 10 minute instead of 22. |

I hope they'll include them later. ![]() ~ IA- Aria on the Planetes ~ Vocaloid V3 voiced by LiA (Clannad Afterstory, Angel Beats! theme song singer) |

They got 16 chapters covered... that's a lot in only five episodes, but the pacing workds. Are they going to blaze through all of the manga? Gee, makes me wonder if noitaminA is a curse or not. |

Valentiln said: I think Ritsuko was meaner to Kaoru, setting things straight is great, but telling him she'll never forgive him for kissing her? for "taking" her first kiss?... A kiss is something you give, not something you take (I do admit it's bad if you force it on someone, but that wasn't the case here). The fact that she can't understand Kaoru's intention means she's very immature... Realistically immature I have to add, so I can understand her, but it still was a lousy reaction.Didn't like how Kaoru was sort of mean to Ristuko but then again, he never took her as a friend so it's understandable. Ristuko is sort of stuck in between. She wants to have Kaoru as a friend and she is in love with Sentarou. Marow said: Personally I prefer a good fast paced story rather than a diluted masterpiece, it can ruin it. A fast pace makes it easy to watch and rewatch, which can be frustrating when there's too much filling. Of course, a fast pace is ok only as long as the narrative is understandable, but that's no problem here so I have no complaints. They got 16 chapters covered... that's a lot in only five episodes, but the pacing workds. It had me near tears the whole episode but I ended up crying when Kaoru and his mother were saying goodbye *^* This anime is just wonderful, I'm going to listen the Lullaby of Birdland right away! ![]() |

Scenes seems to be skipping all over the place with no continuity between them. The end of this episode would be at the end of chapter 16 in the manga. A good anime needs to have both slow scenes and fast scenes, just like life. |

They didn't include his mother's backstory :/ Still a great episode, I just wish they wouldn't rush so damn much. |

Ok, no session at all but I still loved this episode. It was quite touching in some parts, especially when Ritsuko and Kaoru talked through the toy telephone... snif. Also, there were some nice songs in this episode, I can't wait to have Sakamichi's OST. BTW, is quite funny to, after watching an episodre, visit YT and check a song. Lot of comments like 'I'm here because I heard this song in Sakamichi no Apollon' XD |

amazing episode that has parallels in my life life in so many places: person you love being indifferent to you but into your friend, giving forgiveness to a parent who has wronged you, and needing your close friend(s) to get through it - this show always strikes a note of familiarity to me...the feeling of real life - i've been there too....sakamichi no apollon does something only the truly great anime can do: create a compression of perceived time so it seems you've only been watching for a couple of minutes instead of a full length show - it's so pleasurable, emotional, and well-paced one loses all track of time...always leaves me wanting more! Man why does this show always have to put in such emotional scenes :(. i Felt something was kinda missing due to Kaoru and Ritsuko just becoming okay again like that . Also Kaoru seeing the letter of the girl that likes Sentaro in Jun's apartment and hiding it HAHA. what a nice friend :3, though i believe its a matter of time before Sentaro finds out. |

This is just beautiful in so many ways. ;___; I don't know what happened in the manga, but that short scene of Kaoru and his mom was just lovely and heartbreaking and [insert indescribable feelings here]. Seriously, this anime just loves to pull on my heartstrings. ♥ Also, OST = so much love. [insert awesome signature here] |
