The fuck did I just read?

The first part was kinda funny but you lost me at the last stage.

Either way its not a accurate depiction of the evolution of an otaku, if you can even call that being an otaku. Its more accurate to rename this "Theory of anime fan Evolution"

Never went through the first 2 stages. I kinda went through the last 2 stages in my own unique fashion. Can't really relate much to the article as an anime fan though.

It seems like this person outlined his own development and is stuck in stage 3 spouting crap thinking he's some sort of stage 4. Unknown to this man is the fact that people who are not retarded exist and do not follow this stage of development.

So what's stopping you? As the link you posted implies, the standard required isn't exactly high.

I find it funny how people like to classify otaku stages so simply. Almost as if we all fit in the same predetermined cookie cutter molds they do. First of all, not every otaku is obsessed with Moe shit. Some of us just like to build Gundams, others are obsessed with vintage anime/manga, etc. Things like this, are the primary reason why I abstain from using the word otaku to describe myself. The idea of a moe, loli, yaoi obsessed otaku, is the reason why most otakus are stigmatized. /end rant

I found it funny how you guys are getting angry. It's obviously meant to be a joke.

I guess I'll just have to bold my /rant tag next time.

It is very obvious that the blogger who created that article intended for it to be comical. Nonetheless, my point still pertains. I must, however, commend you on your choice of phrasing. There might be hope for this place yet.

We're not angry. We just don't see anything funny about it.

Personally, I think the blogger is trying waaaay too hard to be funny.

Yet again people are failing to understand the correct meaning of the term 'otaku'.
