That escalated quite quickly

We are finally introduced to the principles of nen which were foreshadowed many other times during the exam as well. Next episodes going to be awesome. This preview is a total spoiler lol.

Man the studio really knows how to put together such fantastic endings/openings.

Opening(s)?

He must be talking about the animation of the openings. Btw, it's funny how back at this time I was saying I didn't think Departure would fit Yorknew. Yet, I love it now.

Woo! New ED. :D

The new OP is so-so.

Anyway, Heaven's Arena seems interesting. Gon and Killua are already making a lot of money. I wonder what this Nen and Ren stuff is supposed to be. Given that Killua and Gon already have a lot of raw power, it could potentially up their game considerably.

...I saw Hisoka in the preview. .-.;

Ohhhh, I thought it would be a simple training arc, but a tournament make it insteresting. Killua is not surprisingly having it easy, but Gon impress me a lot. He's owning his foes so easily.

Killua really lost it again Kishu thought. I wonder why the trainer stopped him. Maybe it's something that if you use it without having mastered it, it can kill you or make you lose your mind... Maybe Killua will be able to learn it. That master is really intriguing though.

It look like Hisoka will be part of the tournament from the preview. That will make things interesting for Gon.

Where does the tournament get the money to support all these fighters? Are they relying on ticket sales, advertisements and maybe funding from the government?

yep

Killua = Trunks
Gon = Goten

This was a great episode. While the first arc used Pokemon as an inspirational foundation, this newest arc is more Dragonball-esque. It's reminiscent of the Tenka'ichi Budokai tournament. Gon's opening "push" move especially--that's a direct homage to Goku (in action, anyways--HxH makes it look like a more serious maneuver. Pay attention to how the violence looks in this series). And the Goten / Trunks vibe is definitely supposed to be there. Though I didn't catch the Fist of the North Star reference--nice find.

However, as you may have realized, an oddity pertaining to Gon appeared in this episode. An inkling of something. During his first match, when Gon first pushes his opponent out of the ring, we get this interesting curiosity: Gon looks down at his hand and contemplates his newfound strength. "Was I always this strong before?" It's something new to him. He is in awe of how much his strength has increased. He stares and his mouth contorts into a sort of slight smile in that moment of shock. Gon somewhat likes it. If you remember, he was incredibly humiliated by being forced to confront his weakness in the Fourth Phase against Hisoka. Despite all he suffered throughout the Hunter Exam and despite being a child, Gon only cries when he's insecure about his own strength. Really pay attention to any mention of power and how it pertains to Gon Freecss in this arc.

After Killua decides that they're going to the top floor of Heavens Arena, Gon has an interesting thought.

"Actually, that was my intent from the beginning."

Money wasn't the main issue for Gon. Seemingly, it's the act of fighting itself that's more important to him than anything else.

thank you for this episode analyzing you do. i really appreciate more than you could think.

Heavens Arena Arc? Around 9 episodes left, then Yorkshin arc, a pretty long one, I'd say 25-30 probably, then Greed Island, around 30-35, then the Chimera Arc which would be around 60-70 episodes then the next arc would be about 10 episodes then we'll have caught up with the manga!

Is there a confirmation for that? I mean, the CA arc is pretty violent, and considering they have been censoring some stuff along the way, I am not betting on them animating it. The last anime did everything, but will this stop after YS arc? Which is what I am asking. Also, some of your guesses are off. Greed Island should last about the same as YS, it's a pretty long arc, with the training/playing the game/Bomber thing.

this is interesting here. since so many claim that the CA is so violent, is it akin to the violence in terraformars? i'm getting those vibes from it for some reason.
----
again the childishness of gon and his buddo are shown. i loved how they took to the "Osu!" so fast. the little boy is so adorable as well.

onto zen!

Something I just realised. Killua was 6 when he first entered the arena and it took him 2 years to finish. Which means at aged 6 he couldn't open the front gate of his mansion, since Gon managed to get to floor 200 just by being strong enough to semi open the door.

New OP with potential waifu's in it. Can't wait for them to appear. New ED sounded good enough to replace the first one. Though, I will miss the song.

LMAO at Killer being an ass to Zushi when they were announced to fight each other.

One chooooop! One puuuuuush! Yes, I know HxH came out first.

Will Gon and Killer learn Nen? Find out next time on Hunter x Hunter x Z.

Was hyped to see the spiders in the op and ed, also the fights in this series are very well animated when compared to other shonen action shows with hundreds of episodes so this arc where the fights become more of the focus will be amazing to watch.

Great new opening and ending song right there! Gon and Killua are easily living the high life thanks to their immense strength chopping and pushing their way to victory but there will definitely be some fights where they'll have to do more than one move to win like how Killua's fight went with Zushi~

Nen came into the picture here and I can only imagine how big of a role that fighting style will have from now on.

I have definitely heard of Nen before, but Ren is a new word for me.
This new arc is proceeding way too fast, but it's still very enjoyable to say the least.

i read couple of the comments here, too much fast? i think the episode was slow.
gon said what i was about to think, when he did really got that strong? they actually called him "gon with the push" xD
just when i actually thought that what training it brings to gon they com up with the idea to ask hime about the "ren", it seem the interesting stuff coming up next.

Yes!!! I'm finally enjoying the series. It'll be interesting to watch as the opponents get stronger.

Although I do think Killua should have had absolutely no problem dispatching that baby.

Also, it's a shame they continued to use the same music for the opening - it's not a good song.
