THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Prove of anime not realistic, because he cannot control the robot that easily but he learned it eventually by himself. Fight begins. The boss who knows Eureka agreed on his strategy? But it worked.

The group is going to get Ao join and his childhood friend is going to go along? The doctor let him go.

Seeing other places that still not happy because there's still wars.

He joins to search for his mother, Eureka.

The enemy came to get Ao??

Welp so much for those fools who believed this was happening in current time. This episode smashes that quite easily.

Eureka is Ao's mother? Wow! Didn't see that coming!

A very good episode. Now that the Allied force is after him, I am staring to believe Ao will go on a same journey with Generation Bleu just like his father had with Gekko. I have a feeling, his father could be Renton!

Also, the OP now shows Eureka. Much love.
Also x 2, they should have taken Naru with them, she needs love too.

Elena: I can be replaced
Fleur: Stop quoting manga
Elena: I'm not quoting manga...I'm quoting ani--

Love the funneling of Evangelion's Rei Ayanami for comic relief.

Also, I applaud the series on its decision to temporarily remove Naru. I understand that she is one of the very few residents who connected with Ao. But apart from crying over Ao and coughing every now and then, she can't currently be developed much further as a character. Her only avenue is the "damsel in distress" archetype, but if she connects with Ao a few episodes later, she will have a lot more potential. Not only will it give her the time to enlighten other island residents about Ao, but the additional time will also allow her to find her niche in the island community. As a result, if Ao ever does return back to the island, he will be able to find it accepting. Then again, the anime can screw me over and disconnect Ao from the island residents completely, but given the sympathetic view of the residents the anime has provided so far, I don't think that will happen.

On the other hand, the rowdy trio led by Gazelle (less mature than the "children", might I add) have much potential for character development. Ao has been thrust into a position of power. For the time being, his action have been relatively grounded in reality, but power can corrupt even the most rational of us. I feel Gazelle's character can grow immensely by supporting Ao and finding his own niche in the world.

More exciting than all of this is the political drama brewing behind the scenes. Like in Un-Go (another Bones production), this extra dimension, as long as it does not replace the plot, can only enrich this show.

Well, this episode sort of reminded me of the movie, Independence Day, at least the beginning part.

It's pretty much confirmed now that Ao is Eureka's son now:

Well, this is an interesting place:

Lol'd @ ending.

Sorry - what? He said he 'kinda' understood it. He already knew how to drive/fly the smaller FP, so why couldn't he kind-of learn the systems of a more advanced IFO?

It's like me - if I could only drive a car, but got into a tank; of course I would be able to move it, but I would also be able to turn and fire the turret if given some time on my own with it.

Hell - it even set the controls to easy mode for him - hahaha.

I really thought Naru would wind up going with him, though I'm kinda glad she didn't since I prefer Fleur at the moment.

I really wish those three hadn't tagged along, there only purpose seems to be to annoy me.

I love having a competent hero with both guts and brains, its such a nice change from so many other series.

And with this episode we have reached the conclusion of the first story arch and the adventure is just beginning. I gotta say I have not been this excited for an anime series on a weekly basis in quite a few years and thankfully each episode so far has not disappointed. I just hope BONES will be able to tell an epic story like they did with the first E7 in only half the time but so far they have my vote of confidence.

Not bad, but it's still too early to tell if this series hurts or helps the original. Anyway I'm more interested in Renton's where abouts than Eureka's.

This is getting more and more confusing. The guy who saved Ao said that a G-Monster attacked him when he was a child, and he looked about 30, so that means that G-Monsters have been here for quite a while now, but they definitely weren't present in E7, so it's probably safe to assume that much more time than ~15 years are between the two series. Considering that BONES has confirmed that this is a direct sequel to the first season, I really can't see where this is going.

Also, I've read some theories online, but all of them assumed that Renton was the father. What if that not's the case? What if this series is happening hundreds of years after the original? We learned in the original that Eureka doesn't age, but what if she does, but at a really slow rate? She definitely looks more mature in this series, so it's a possibility that she grew that much in a few hundred years. Sure, it would be a big slap in the face if Renton wasn't the father, but I still think they might go on this route, considering that they haven't mentioned him at all.

I wonder if it will start exploring the world soon or if it only will be political stuff.
I have my own blog! It's called Anime Viking. Hope you read it!

It is pretty obvious at this point that E7:AO is taking place either in an alternate dimension that is connected E7's world through the Scub Burst somehow, or it's E7's Earth - but in the past before the Scub Coral overtook the planet.

just because it's a direct sequel doesn't mean that it can only take place on the same world or time period.

Atleast he finally left the island. Trapar hippies made me feel nostalgic of the first season for some reason.

One thing I miss is reffing. Man I thought that was a really cool thing in the prequel.
