Interesting opening episode, I can't wait until the actual story begins though.

4/5 for this episode.

Oh come on people. You are exaggerating it too much. The mysteries weren't THAT bad. They were just as expected, weak and mostly conversation about them. The "Who locked the door" mystery was just boring. Even Detective Conan's Detective Boys fillers without Haibara have done better (mystery-wise). I obviously don't expect murders, but I hope that they bring some interesting mysteries into the game. The whole mystery was kinda out of character for the heroine. She is supposed to be really intelligent, yet she managed to get locked in by that guy, without noticing. I understand why that guy locked the door, it was probably his habit, as he was locking all doors. Also, what with the main guy entering a locked room and just staring at the girl without even saying hello or anything appropriate. Talk about manners in Japan.

Nice visuals though.

Slow start, but damn, that animation.

I'm trying to keep my expectations stabilized, so I won't expect too much.

In my opinion a good start into an Anime of that kind.
The Animation was really amazing and I liked the Opening aswell.
The Story and Characters seems to be interesting, too.
I also liked the Motto of Houtarou.
It 's like my life described in a single sentence xD
I'm already looking forward to the next episode.

DAT animation! I like the quotes. I was a little disappointed at the mysteries but ehh. Every day mysteries aren't too bad.

Great first episode; that animation, that OP; definitely gonna keep watching this XD

That aside is it just me, or does 8 hates already seem like a lot; almost seems like its gonna be another show that people either love or hate; which is a shame because those shows always bring all kinds of trolling without much of a middle ground.

Two Bach pieces and two Beethoven pieces from what I heard. Not bad, not bad.

I like the little mind teasers as well. They aren't overwhelming - they just give you the "oh, why didn't I think of that" feeling, which is quite nice to have every once in awhile.

I wonder what KyoAni has in store for us - are they going to release their onion cutting ninjas? If so, in what way?!

And nice to see they brought back the VA of Tomoya and Sunohara. I want another fist brawl!

This was really boring. Runner-up for disappointment of the season, IMO.

What's wrong with you people? There's nothing cool or fantastic about this show so far.

Story > Animation, So Idgaf about how good it may look.
The opening sucks ass.
And there's no real mysteries.

But hey, it's just the first episode. 3/5

I enjoyed this episode. Actually glued to it the whole time. I enjoyed the visuals, the intrigue and such around the club and especially Fukube and Oreki's storytelling and development of the mystery. Even more their interaction together was funny, how odd for Fukube to know exactly what to say to Oreki to get him to actually stop and think or reminisce over his actions. Already like these two already. Chitanda seems like she can become annoying over time, and to me she seems exactly like Miho in Bakuman.

Animation was the best thing about this show so far. It pretty much rivals or even flat out beats F/Z in that department. Unfortunately, this first episode is a ridiculously slow start. It just seemed flat and boring. Seems like another slice of life.

The amount of haters is just unbelievable.

It's the first damn episode. The 4th main character hasn't even been introduced yet so of course it's going to be slow with light mysteries.

We havn't even got into the main plot yet so how can you possibly judge it this early? It's a 21 episode series. Sit back and relax.

The animation was pretty awesome and the epic duo VA!! However, the episode as a whole (especially the mystery element) felt a bit weak to me. So I hope they'll do a better job at the mystery next episode!

An interesting start. I see the potential here. As it stands right now, Houtarou isn't very likable in my opinion, but I remain positive. Looking forward to next week.

I was insulted by how boring this was.

Also, I've never seen such lazy character development before. They just use Fukube to point out all of Oreki's traits and opinions, and then try to pass it off as scintillating dialogue - which it isn't.

At least the episode was pretty and sparkly and whatnot.
