THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

So, Kuroko's lack of presence will wear off after some time. Let's see what new strategy Taiga has come up with. Also, Kise is really smitten with Kuroko, isn't he?

Another amazing episode!
If you ask me, Kise probably wants Kuroko on his team because he is well aware that the boy is his weakness due to his invisible techniques.
Can't wait for episode 4!

I have mixed feeling about Kise, I hate him yet love him at the same time xD Can't wait for the next episode. This might turn out to be my top sports anime series of 2012 if this keeps up.

I knew the show wasn't going to take basketball seriously, but there's way too many dunks (especially with the way they pull the ball back with defenders around) going on. Also, both coaches are horrible, one for not taking matches seriously, and the other for not understanding her players' skills. And since they didn't bother specifying, I'm assuming Kuroko is playing PG and Kagami is C/PF?

While I understand they're obviously not going for realism, it's hard to take the matches seriously. The characters are still interesting nonetheless.

I LOL'ed when Kagami broke the hoop. XD

And there were too many dunks in this ep. Sure, Kagami has a power-based style of play, but c'mon! Throw some good shots in there, for variety's sake, dammit!

Still a great ep. If this keeps up, this might be my favorite of this season.

Agreed, too many dunks. Still loved the ep though, it went so fast. I want to see the rest of the game right now - I can't wait to see how Kuroko handles this.

The episode was cool but that damn coach got to go. She is damn annoying and judges everything by numbers. She really doesn't know basketball. Thats why i wish we had an adult coach.

@above
Your right their not taking basketball serious. I know its not going for realism but at least make it entertaining.

Agree. But still, great episode. I wish they will add more powerful players in their team, you know, like SlamDunk XD Well, I guess that's impossible.

MAL Sig, why don't you update?! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)

Whoa, time sure does fly when you watch this series - I'd swear it wasn't even 10 minutes when the ending showed up. But that only proves how immersing it can be, and how the pacing stays on the right track.
I hope it won't end after 12 or 24 episodes - a long-runner would be really more than welcomed, given that the series would maintain its freshness (what wouldn't be too easy, I guess).

Anyway, a round 5/5 for this episode - as always.

I hope around the next episode you'll start seeing Seirin's regulars kicking ass.

I really don't mind a girl being the coach. Then again I watch a lot of ecchi anime.

I personally love the Coach, she's not some whiny/love-struck/bitching girl we see way too often in (shonen) anime, she has a good skill and she does in fact understand the players skills; give it some time, we're only in episode 3, the first real match only started and she doesn't know Kagami nor Kuroko very long yet :D

I loved how Kise just ignored Kagami and went straight to Kuroko, he knows how to anger him 8D
Great episode once again, the animation is wonderful and the voice acting, too :)

You guys are being so sexist. Who cares if the coach is a girl? It doesn't matter. It's not like the show has any ecchi so it makes no difference whether she's a girl or not.

And like Kise said, basketball is all about your build and size. Having an uber coach isn't going to help the team as much as having the right players.

Also, it's highschool basketball for crying out loud. This isn't the NBA. The coach can be anyone that can do the job. Honestly, out of all things to complain about you complain that the coach is a girl. Wtf?
