Jini rolls her eyes and rolls down the window letting the wind blow through her hair and drowned out the horrible singing.

Lisa sat up, her vision fogged over slightly; do to the fact of exhaustion. Her gaze fell across to the front seats, eyeing the female in the front, and the man in the front. She leaned up, sticking her head between the front seats, and in the loudest voice she could muster, she shouted.

“Who in the fuck are you two, and why in hell did you kid-nap me!!!”

She clearly had no recollection of what had happened, before she had blacked out. It was almost as if, some one had replaced her memories, or something.

Rufus just sighed as this rambunctious girl started making wild accusations of kidnapping. It was obvious she was delirious from the event that had just taken place. I hope she doesn't have too much trouble accepting the things I'm about to tell her. I mean the concept of monsters existing and the whole concept of the Quincy is a lot to take in. he thought to himself as he remembered how most often thought he was crazy when he tried to explain the hallows and Quincies.

"Well is that anyway to thank the person that rescued you? I take it you don't remember what happened back at your home when that hallow attacked your home." he said with a sigh as he lowered the music so he could better address the young girl.

"Well my name is Rufus and I am the Quincy that rescued you." he said calmly as he looked back at the girl with his light blue eyes.

Lisa looked startled and confused as she looked at the man driving, who was now not paying attention to the road at all as he drove. Her first reaction would have to slapped him, but she didn’t. instead, she thought hard. Things were coming back to her, slowly…ever so slowly…

“You crazy old bastard, look at the fucking road!”

She refered to anyone older then her as old, but this was just a childish habit that would be broken over time.

"Tch what a loud bunch. I think I liked it better with the hippie music on." she reached forward and twisted the volume nob as far as it would go until the music was blaring so loud that everyone in the car was having trouble thinking much less talking.

Just as Jini turned the volume this song began to blare in from his vans quaint sound system.


"Ohhh my God I love this song!" he said excitedly as a smile crept across his face. He totally ignored what Lisa had said to him and continued to have his eyes off the road. The van slowly began to creep into the other lane unbeknownst to him.

"Relax kid I am a great driver." he said with a smile. Just then the van was complexly in the opposite lane with a head on collision with a semi. The bright headlights from the semi blared through the window blinding Jini and Lisa as the loud horn went off.

Awww shit thats what I get for not paying attention.. he thought to himself as he used the Henrayku to transport the van on the right side of the road within in a matter of seconds. To Jini and Lisa it would appear as if they hit in a head on collision.

Lisa was tossed back around in the back of the van, unseetbelted in. Her head collided with the side wall of the van, and she was out like a light, again.

Jini slams her head against the passenger window leaving a gash in her head. "Damn...... you..... What in the hell just happened?" she asked placing her hand gently on the tender wound where blood is pulsing out.

"Well the brat is out sooo that is one positive thing that came out of my negligence.." hes said happily as he avoided her question for the moment. He kept his eyes on the road and drove a few hundred meters before he addressed Jini again.

"Well I will tell you what that is if you tell me what your name is... I mean I already did introduced myself." he said playfully.

"Jini. My name is Jini." she groaned as the pain rippled throughout her body. Knowing she needed to stop the blood she pulled out a pocket knife and started to cut off her long sleeve. Once that was done she cut down the length of one side making the make shift bandage wider, from there she proceeded to wrap her head where the gash was in the attempts to stop the bleeding. "Now are you going to tell me what the hell just happened or are you trying to joke around with me again?" she asked irritably the pain still ever present in her voice.

"Well you know the move I used to get behind you back there when you were with that hallow and shinigami. I just did the exact same move but on a grander scale with this van. It is called the Hirenkyaku, it is when one gather spirit particles or Reishi under there feet and rides them to there desired location. In this cases I gathered reishi under the tires of the van and rode them to the opposite side of the road. This technique is essential to all a Quincy and has a variety of uses. It is one of the first things I will teach you Ms. Jini." he explained as he continued down the interstate headed for Bay Area in northern California. He figured he would resupply in Sacramento and then head out to a more secluded area along in the red wood forest, There is where he there training would begin.

"Sooo tell me a bit more about you Jinin, its not every day you see a Quincy palling around with a shinigami and a hallow. The fact those two were together makes me uneasy as they are normally enemies." he said with a sigh as he continued along the I-5

"Maybe.......later....." she slowly whispers and passes out from the blood loss. As she looses conciseness she leans to her right causing her head once again to slam into the window which breaks from the sudden weight. Now her head leans out the window while glass from the window cuts into her neck causing her to bleed even more. That's when you notice that the color from her features has faded away allowing her tanned skin to look several shades lighter.

(Jini has passed out and will not regain consciousness until she receives proper emergency treatment. If you don't give her some she will die.)

(I don't know anything about the geography of where your characters are, let alone the geography of California, so forgive me if my description of the area seems out of place.)



A groan came from a young man, still half asleep in bed. The red silk sheets covered the lower half of his body, as well as a young woman that slept besides him. She lay on her belly with a rather content smile on her lips. The man didn't pay any mind to her at all though, simply sliding off of bed and grabbing a white robe nearby. This robe looked rather expensive, as everything in his room did. It had gold lining and a crest with a cross in the middle of it, the same color as the lining.

He casually walked towards the balcony, grabbing and pouring himself a glass or red wine. Looking out, he could see the coast in the distance. A vast stretch of green trees, then the blue, a different color than the sky. A breathtaking sight really, but one he was more than use to. Kaizen came here to his summer home quite often, so the beauty was somewhat lost on him.

Taking a sip of his wine, he sensed something. Out in the distance, somewhere above the trees, something was coming. It was something no one else around here would be able to sense... unless they had a gift. One similar to his own. He leaned his elbows on the balcony ledge, watching and waiting.

Above the road that Alain and the other young Quincy were driving on, the air became distorted. As if the fabric of space was warping. Figures would slowly appear, seeming to materialize from nowhere. Hollows. Three of them, to be exact. Each had a white mask unique to them.

These Quincy would be able to see the hollows easily ahead. Well, the ones that were conscious that is. The rest of the population would remain blissfully ignorant of the danger. Even their ferocious roars would go on deaf ears to the majority.

Rather quickly, they noticed the unusual spiritual energy that came from the car driving their way. Those were not mere humans... they had power. Power that would satiate their appetites greater than any other nearby human. What luck.

"RRRROOOOOOOOAAAAAAA--"

Yet before they could attack, before the Quincy in the car would be able to get out and prepare for battle... three blindingly fast arrows shot through the hollows, too fast for them to have noticed coming. Before they knew it... the monsters disintegrated into nothingness. Complete and total destruction. As soon as they appeared, they were gone.

Kaizen stood on his balcony, a glass of wine in one hand, and a small white bow in the other. So easy it was to kill those hollows, even at such a great distance. This man... this Quincy, normally did not care too much about hunting down hollows. He actually preferred his comfortable, normal life as a human. But whenever those beasts did appear, slaying them was as easy as swatting a fly away.

The bow disintegrated, turning into a simple pentacle. Kaizen grabbed it and pushed it back into the pocket of his robe, leaving and heading down the stairs of is grand summer home. Servants greeted him along the way, bowing before returning to their duty. He stopped in front of one woman, and older lady in her 40's

"Lanna, please make sure to escort the lady in my room out after she's wakes and has cleaned up."

She bowed, leaving to check on the young woman. Kaizen slipped into the downstairs bathroom, turning on the faucet to the shower. As he finished his glass of wine, he thought about those hollows he had just killed. He thought he sensed something else over there... like something, or someone, with spirit energy. It hadn't been hollow though...

"Hmm... nah. Probably just a human with greater than average spirit energy."

Lisa set up suddenly in the back of the van, a sharp whistling sound filling her ears from the window in front. She blinked a few times, attempting to clear her head. She shouted, her ears still ringing.

"What was that?"

She was talking about a fandom noise, that she had thought she had heard just before she had reawaken. She could not see out the front of the van from her porn position, but her curiosity was still spiked. Things were slowly fitting themselves back in to place, and another panic attack was only moments away from being released upon this man, who seemed to have kid-napped her.

He heard the loud screech erupt from above his van and saw three figures appear above his van. That screech... Damn why right now... I have two unconscious people in my van right now.. Shit I can't get a shot off right now either.. I can try and out run them but I doubt that will do any good he thought to himself as he didn't know what to do that wouldn't put the girls in jeopardy as he prepared to use the hirenkyaku to escape. He saw three arrows come seemingly out of no where and slay the hallows with relative ease.

Could that be that there is another Quincy in this area? No there can't be one that strong this close as his spiritual energy resembles Alains.. That just isn't.. his thought ended abruptly as Lisa asked her question.

"Well Lisa those things were hallows... The very thing that attacked you tonight.. I however didn't kill them.. I couldn't get a good shot off but 3 arrows came out nowhere and killed them.." he said calmly as he started to drive towards the area where this spiritual pressure was coming from.

Within a couple of minutes they came upon a rather lavish mansion just outside Palo Alto. He drove up to entrance of the gate and pushed the call button to the speaker.(I cant remember what that is called for the life of me.. Sorry for the shotty description:P)

"Excuse me can you help us? I have a friend who is bleeding and she needs medical attention now.. Can you please help us out?" he said in a frantic tone.

He really did want to help Jini but figured this would also be a nice way to see who this person was that saved him. He wasn't the best at reading spirit energy but this person energy was kind of hard to miss. There is no way there can be another Quincy out here that is as powerful as Alain.. It just doesn't seem possible.. Maybe this person is a fullbring or something else..

For a moment, there was silence. A black dome just above the call button moved, a security camera getting a good look at whoever was at the gate. Back in a small building near the mansion a security guard watched them on a couple monitors, pressing a button to communicate with them.

"One moment please."

Rather than let them in, he picked up a phone and pressed four numbers, waiting for someone to pick up at the other end.

Kaizen walked out of the bathroom, feeling refreshed and thoroughly cleaned. He wore the same white robe, but it hung open. Underneath he wore a new pair of jeans, having been laid out for him while he took his shower. Drying his still damp hair with a towel, the man watched as an older man walked to him, holding a phone.

"Sir, I have a call from the security building."

Curious, Kaizen took the phone and put it to his ear.

"Yes?"

"Mr. Fujikata," Came the security guard's voice, "I know you asked to not be interrupted by uninvited guests, but there's some people here asking for help. A young man and two ladies. The young man says one of his friends is hurt and needs medical attention." In any other circumstance the guard would have asked them to leave, but he had some concern. The nearest hospital was nearly twenty minutes away, and he didn't know how serious her condition was.

"Oh?"

Kaizen was a little annoyed that he was being bothered about such a simple thing. It's not that he didn't trust these strangers per se. He just didn't have the time to care. Yet when his senses focused on the gate where the strangers would be... he would become surprised at what he found. This energy... it was spirit energy. And not the type he would expect. Focus changed and several threads started appearing in the room. These threads went unseen by everyone that worked here.

Three in particular caught his interest. So he had not imagined it back upstairs. Kaizen truly had sensed Quincy. One of the three looked weak though, as if the simplest touch would cause it to disintegrate. They weren't liars either. One of them was in need of help.

"... sir?"

In his thought, Kaizen had kept himself silent, making the guard wonder if he was still even on the phone.

"Ah, yes. Go ahead and let them in." He hung up the phone and gave it back to the older man. "We're going to have some guests today. Be sure the injured one gets proper medical attention. Invite the other two to see me in the back by the pool as well so we can chat. Oh, and make sure my lady friend is escorted out soon as well." He had already long forgotten the woman's name, but it was of no concern to him.

A sound came from the speaker back at the gate a second before the security guard spoke again.

"Please come in. We'll have someone waiting for you in the grand foyer." With that, the great black gate started remotely opening, granting them entrance.

"I'm not sure what a foyer is sir but okay I will be in-front of the house shortly sir."

With that he pooped the clutch of his old V2 van back into 1st gear and proceeded to drive forward. He was amazed at how lavish the mansion looked up close. He figured it would be nice as he observed it from a far but he wasn't expecting this. He then proceeded to park his car near the entrance of the house. He turned off the car and immediately got out of his vehicle headed towards the passenger seat Jini was sitting in. He looked over to the man that was awaiting there arrival. "Can you help me get Jini out of the car sir?" he said in a worried tone as he opened the door and grabbed the unconscious Jini from under her arms as he attempted to get her out of his vehicle.

A gentleman not much older than Alain ran towards the car when the new guests finally arrived at the front of the mansion. He helped pull Jini out just as an older woman ran out to get a look at the injured girl. She had a box of medical supplies in her hand and would need to inspect her to know what exactly she needed to do.

"I got her. We'll take it from here."

The man said once they entered the mansion. The woman administered some quick first aid to the girl's neck to keep the bleeding from getting worse until she could really get to work. Both of them took Jini away into another room, but an older gentleman stopped the other two Quincy from following.

"Master Kaizen has requested that you join him out in back while your friend is being taken care of. Do not worry, she is in good hands."

With that, the man turned and headed towards the back. He walked past the dual spiral staircase of the grand foyer, a crystal chandelier hanging above their heads.



Through this white palace they walked. Paintings decorated the walls along with several unique pieces of art. There was one sculpture in particular that would draw notice from the guests... one that took the form of what looked like a Quincy pentacle. Chiseled in the center of this star-like shape was a celtic cross, all sides perfectly symmetrical.

They walked past a set of double doors, taking them out to the back. A grand pool lay open for them to see, yet no one swimming. Past the gated back yard was a beautiful view of the landscape. The person that lived here was no doubt loaded with cash.



"Hello there!"

A young man of about twenty six years waved at the two guests. He sat close to the pool on a fancy patio chair with a round table and two empty chairs opposite of him.

"Come, come. You'll join me, won't you? It's not often random strangers come here." He waved at the two empty chairs. "Would you like something to drink? Wine... campaign... or perhaps some cider?"

The man pointed to some bottles that stood on the table, all of which were alcoholic beverages. He poured himself some red wine into a clear glass and held out the bottle, not bothering to even ask if they were of legal drinking age.

It was clear, to whomever was able to sense it, that this was the person that shot those arrows at the hollows earlier. He was not some simple human being. He was a Quincy. And quite a different character from the other three.

Lisa was not impressed by this man, or his deminer. In fact, she was insulted. She moved hottally over to the man, and got right up in his face.

"First of, do you have any soda? Secondly, who are you? Thirdly where are we?"

Lisa shoved her index finger in to his chest, pushing hard...much harder then she really needed to, but she was angry...confused, and lost. Losing her mother, seeing monsters and various other things were pushing her up a wall, figuratively speaking.

He looked around the house and was even more amazed at how fancy it was

Rufus quickly cupped his right hand around Lisa's mouth to prevent her from speak another word and pulled her back away from there host in an embarrassed fashion.

"Sorry about that... The brat doesn't have any manners and I apologize for her rude behavior. I thank you for your hospitality " he said in an embarrassed tone as he wrestled Lisa into submission in a comedic fashion that would amuse the Quincy that stood before him. He then proceeded to knock her out by hitting her behind the neck. Within a few seconds Lisa was unconscious and he calmly laid her down on a couch. The man could also make out what appeared to be two Quiincy crosses that hung from each of Rufus' wrists. This was an uncommon thing as most Quincy only used one and would spark his curiosity.


"I take it thanks are in order sir as you got me out of quite the bind back there on the road.. I am grateful as I don't think I would have been able to get a shot off and thanks with helping take care of Jinni." he said calmly as he began to pour himself some wine as well.

"Now that the brat is out I think it would be best if we had chat.. I haven't felt a Quincy that powerful since my old mentor.. Soo what is your story Mr... Uhhh what is your name sir?" Rufus asked in a polite tone as he took a sip of wine.
