I'm liking this. The show's getting funnier :) I have to admit that Haru's sister was kinda random though. She came outta nowhere XD Getting more serious though with the Prince and his family. I feel bad for him :( Sounds like his mother died 2 years ago or something so his dad took to drinking and is "trying" to be a good father. Sister's oblivious so the Prince feels like he has to "protect" her. That's just my guess based on my vast array of cliches XD 4/5 - Not a huge fan of the animation, but that just may be me. And ahh, I just love Gintoki <3 He was the best this entire episode. Tomoya said: Nagisa, I found it. I finally found it. Something only I can protect. The precious thing only I can protect. It was...right here. |

bottosai-01 said: Maybe you should just stop watching anime for a time ^^... you know it's a comedy/sci about ALIENS coming en Earth to catch a FISH in order to SAVE the world!! I don't even understand how you could thing about racism! I konw a lot of Japanese are racists (like a lot of people in ALL countries) but I think that most of the people of the world also think that INDIA people wears turban!!!! Did they wear turban everydays? in special occasion? because it's cool? because they like it? I never think about it before! For me India = turban for men and red/black point on the forhead for women! I'm not racist, I just don't KNOW about it because I never SEARCH about it or even HEARD about it before! It's like saying that the English wear a raincoat, umbrella and a small mustache, the French have a beret and a baguette under the arm! The Japanese/Chinese women wear Kimono, have very small feet and yellow skin! It's stupid, not even near the reality but When using these descriptions, everyone can say what country it is.I love the colours and music in this anime, as well as how enjoyably awkward the main character is. Haru is easily the worst thing about this anime... out of all the annoying chars in animes, hes really up there... and he has a frikin mind control water gun... wth and because obviously Haru is not annoying enough we must now introduce his equally annoying fanservice bikini wearing sister who also was a mind control water gun and thinks that the main character must save the world. idk if its just because I'm brown myself but Akira is one of the most racist anime characters I have ever seen. The only reason a brown guy would wear a turban outside of India or the Middle East is if he was part of the Sikh relgion or if he was getting married... and thats only on the wedding day. More over if he was Sikh then he would not be able to shave/cut any hiar on his body (thus the turban) which also means his beard... which is non-existant, which makes no fucking sense because apparantly this guy is brown and 25 years old. Also isn't there supposed to be an age limit for highschools? like 20 Im pretty sure... if your over 20 you should be going to an adult learning centre. But yeah lets just distract from all this stuff by giving him a duck and a japanese name. I know its a slce of life comedy and I shouldn't take things very seriously... but this is honestly pretty offensive... and Ive been through the whole 9/11 fiasco. I still like this anime though, its fun and whimsical the colors are great... and the op is nice too. I guess I should just be glad that theres another brown character in anime, I just wish he wasn't such an obvious sterotype and misrepresentation. About the 25 years old, seriously, Haru and his sister have a mind control water gun, Akira probably also have something like this! Or just a lot of monet to use! (And even without this, THERE ARE people older than 20 who you to Highschool! usually not in the same classes, but it's not new in anime nether! I think about one about a highschool guy who has his mother in the same class? or maybe no anime but movie (american?))Seriously, THREE transfer students in Enoshima (it's small!!!!) around the same day in the SAME class, this is more disturbing I think ^^ I don't like (useless ecchi) fanservice and I don't thing Haru's sister is here for fanservice (maybe later? but if this anime "needed" fanservice, Haru would probably have been a blonde girl with large breasts)! She's kind of fish/mermaid so bikini is not bad! (for fanservice they could just use long hair to "censure" the nipples, like in a lot of anime -_-) About AKira's name, it's not ONLY a Japanese name: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akira_(given_name). Probably same for Haru&co fishergirl16 said: The sister don't come from nowhere! She is the fish Haru has on his head at the beginning.I have to admit that Haru's sister was kinda random though. She came outta nowhere XD Getting more serious though with the Prince and his family. Sister's oblivious so the Prince feels like he has to "protect" her. That's just my guess based on my vast array of cliches XD The problem with Natsuki's father is probably not that his going out for drinking/have fun, but more about his girlfriend! Natsuki's sister speak to her but Natsuki don't even answer her! He's probably thinking his sister needs to be protected but he is the one who can't pass his mother's death and accept his father's girlfriend (who don't try for force the way in the house, she leaves by herself without complaining!) I just love the weirdness of this show. Lots of different characters, odd colors and whatnot. And it's getting interesting. Can't wait for the next episode. ♥ [insert awesome signature here] |

Yuki: Is Enoshima alright? Well, no because the last two transfer students are weirdos. One is a self-proclaimed alien and the other is an Indian prince of some sort, going around with a duck. And on top of everything the alien's sister seems weirder than the alien. For the craziness of Enoshima - 10/10 |

In a lot of anime, if there is an American, they will often have blonde hair and blue eyes. And Japan isn't the only country that uses stereotypes in their media. I've seen MANY American cartoons that use an Asian stereotype. The first one that comes to mind is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeXIbVovojM |

definitely alot happening this episode yuki's grandma coughing up and then telling haru to keep it a secret from yuki, natsuki looking like he has some family problems going on, introduction of haru' oddly-dressed sister, and then the 4 main protagonists finally coming together for the beginning of a "great story" this series is DEFINITELY unique, pulling off so much in the first two eps, cant wait for more!!! LOVE tomokazu sugita's character, his goose named Tapioca, burying himself under the sand to eavesdrop, and then entering their class at age 25 lolololol |

Okay... This is the most adorable anime I've ever seen, and I've only seen two episodes but I love it so much!! The music is great, the characters are great, the art is great, and so far I've been laughing my head off.. Omg it's just such a cute show! It makes me think of Ponyo a bit. I hope it continues to be this good! Also... FANSERVICE. EVERYWHERE. |

Akira is 25!? Wow! Another great episode! With the grandma coughing and the bit with Natsuki's dad I have a feeling this anime won't be as care free as I thought. The next episode can't come fast enough! |

Like I said, I know its a slice of life comedy and I should take things seriously, but it wouldn't have hurt the creators to have been a little more sensitive towards people from India and the Middle East. I know most of you are not used to being part of a minority group and having to face prejudice in your daily lives, but let me tell you its not a pleasent experience. Especially when its because of total BS that happened in another country and was an obvious inside job. (I live in Canada btw) Yeah I don't want to get to personal, but the Japanese are not stupid ignorant ppl (I hope) and they knew what was going on at the time(and is still going on to some extent). I just find it very irresponsible to use such an obvious racist stereotype of a mintority group that has been exploited so recently in history and if they were going to use a minority group, atleast represent that group properly. At age 25 this guy should have a full beard, even if hes only partially of Indian or Middle eastern descent. Also you would think that the Japanese would have more sympathy toward the Middle Eastern nations especially, because they have been occupied by the United States as well and it has left a lasting impression on them. 25, really? Whoa. And that Tapioca, I'm getting dark vibes from him. >.> Ah, man, I love this series. It's just one thing after another that keeps me laughing throughout. I love all the characters and their quirks. The sister annoys me a bit, but whatever. I like her hair. Figured this show would try to find some way to make fishing look like the most epic thing in the world, and they succeeded. Don't know if I'd ever try it, though. The uni knot... |

I don't think they are trying to be insensitive to a particular group of people. Sadly, most people don't know all those facts about India and the Middle East that you do. Most people think of dark-skinned guys with a turban. It's sad that racial stereotypes exist, but they do and they added it in the show so that most people can recognize that he is from India. As for the beard... well, he probably just doesn't have one because, let's face it, full beards are not very bishounen-like. |
