Besides the character of Justice, voiced by the amazing Perlman, I really did not like this anime. I found Samurai Champloo to be far superior in every area.

mindless violence as opposed to mindless sex and nude chicks? i thought this anime was good. for a 5 episode show i cant expect more. ultimately the is alteast one thing that is bound to impress someone, either the sex the violence or the story. if a show has alteast one of those that is good or exceptional, then its a good show.

Bingo. What more can you expect from a 5 episode show? I mean they really can't fit THAT much stuff into it, and I think they did a good job with their circumstances.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that immediately dismissed this wretched excuse of an anime as one of the worst ever released. American influence should stay away from anime (unless Wachowskis are involved *cough*)

wow ppl really don't understand which target audience they were trying sell this anime to. it is what it is, an anime with a story that serves a purpose only to move to the next fight scene. the action animation in this series was pretty outstanding and the story was never suppose to be deep, people are wasting there time posting about something so obvious

I liked it. It's good to watch something with less story now and then.
It was quite enterteining because of the awesome action.
Soundtrack and animation were good too.

I personally liked the anime, for a short anime the action was so good and the plot was as some would say relevant, this really was not made about the plot it was made for the action and the kick ass voice of SAMUEL.L. JACKSON!! Did not like the hentai bit though, I hate that sort of stuff its disgusting!!!

i thought that it was great animation wise, the story wasn't the best but hey it's only 5 eps long was else do you want from it. Also i have a question was that girl he fucked the girl from his childhood or was she just a random girl who was sent to get information from him?

Liked the series, although it really did lack a story. But I can tollerate that for 5 eps.

All my friends love this but i just don't get what so amazing about it. The story is weak, the action is okay, other than that theres nothing really standing out about it. Ninja Ninja was one of the most annoying characters i've seen and until i read about his character after he seemed completely pointless.

The transisitions from scene to scene were also very messy, maybe they were trying to be original but it jus didn't work.

DAMN! Seriously, I wanted to see best anime fulfilled with phylosophy, so I watched NGE through an' through. I wanted to see best action anime with nice plot, so I picked Black Lagoon. Best SF action plot? Cowboy Bebop, obviously.
And we have Afro Samurai. From what I just read, you guys mostly don't read re-freakin'-views before watching. This one is simply the BEST, if you wanna see TONS of blood and TONS of swearing. And I'd underline the second, 'cause we can see blood almost everywhere, but swearing in Afro is just epic. Seriously, almost everytime when Jackson curses, it's so damn hilarious and badass that you simply kneel in awe.
WHO CARES ABOUT A STORY?! It was about cursing, smashing and nakedness, ffs. When you watched Rambo or Die Hard; when you played Diablo, you expected freakin' Plato, Kant or Confucius in background? :P

To be honest the fights weren't that good, which is why it at least needed a semi-good story. But yeah, i guess it's good for some people, oh well.

Well afro samurai is cool im mean being black it is cool to see that in anime but the truthe is the story sucked....i mean the fights and animation was great but again it is not the worst or the best it is just there.

I dropped it after the first ten minutes. Y'know you can have great action and a great plot, look at Ghost In The Shell.
