Meh, I was pretty unimpressed with Afro Samurai. The animation looked great and the action scenes were pretty awesome, but the story was awful. And even though they had Samuel L. Jackson as a voice actor, it felt out-of-place. I would've very much preferred it in Japanese with subtitles.

I guess a handful of episodes is about right - I doubt the cool action scenes could've carried it much further without a decent plot.

I thought it was terrible. Gonzo's worst? almost.

Afro Samurai was probably the worst anime I've ever seen. And unlike someone said, short animes CAN be good.

I liked it. Wasnt bad, I've seen better, but I've also seen much worse.

Yeah, it was alright. I didn't mind it, the only thing that made me go on was the fact that samuel l jackson was really funny as the voices of afro and that other dude.

Besides, I like short animes.

I thought the anime was alright, it wasn't amazing or anything but it wasn't bad. Had some great animation with some nice fights, nothing too memorable about them but they were still good.

I thought it was pretty decent for a 5 episode samurai anime. I'm surprised that so many people consider it terrible. I mean, you couldn't really have expected to be anything more than bloody, well-animated sword fights could you?

It was awesome, english voice didn't suck because there vas SAMUEL L. MOTHERFUCKING JACKSON, animation kicked ass and story didn't have unnecessary things.

The action was pretty cool, but the story was bad. What's with monks, damn it?!

Basically this anime was never intended for Japan. It was made for USA and it was never voiced in Japanese. I just feel pity for those people who can`t turn their brain off.

The action scenes more than made up for the lack of story in my book. Knowing beforehand the "story" of Afro Samurai, I wasn't really expecting much out of it other than random acts of badassery! xD

I thought this was a great anime. Like most ppl said its good to have it in 5 eps anything more would have been bad. The sound track is off the hook. AndSamuel L. did his thing in this one especially as afro's sidekick. Good story and funny as hell at times.
