Concerning the end of Kurugaya's route, couldn't it simply be that it takes place before Refrain but you have to play it after Refrain just to get more play time? The way some of these routes go is so confusing (such as when the EX routes actually occur) I like to think that they don't have a true place in the story, but are just there for the fans to enjoy. For instance, it wouldn't make sense and would break all the rules of the series if Kurugaya's route took place in the real world, and the EX routes can't be canon since they don't fit into the main story. Hence you must know the secret of the world to access them. They are there merely for entertainment rather than fitting into the actual story. I love the series and all but we really need to accept that not everything fits perfectly together. Formerly known as ClannadIsLove. "Masato, you are my irreplaceable friend." - Riki Naoe |

ClannadIsLove said: and the EX routes can't be canon since they don't fit into the main story I don't have any idea about Kanata's route because the timeline of her story is confusing but Sasami's is still a canon because her route takes place after the events of Refrain. Most likely, a sequel. Therefore, it's canon but a single route. Plus, you shouldn't say something like "It's not a canon" or etc that you think of yourself that you have some knowledge about it yet you haven't played them. If the EX routes exist just to please the fans, do you have a proof which Key/Visual Arts' team stated that? They have their own stories in which they fit to the main story(Except Saya's for obvious reasons) and not just for fanservice. Remember that. If they don't fit to the main story and intended to be just for fanservice, they can just make a fandisc(Like Rewrite Harvest Festa which that intended to be for fanservice) and have their spotlight on that fandisc.
