Here's what I'd like to see in the next smash bros game, if there is one.

anime characters

1. Saber (Fate/Stay Night

video game characters

1. Kiyru Kazuma (Ryu Ga Gotoku)
2. Ryo Hazuki (Shenmue)

Those are...all non-Nintendo characters. Okay then.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sigurd from Seisen no Keifu and the player-character from Balloon Fight.

True, but it doesn't have to be only nintendo characters, Solid Snake and Sonic are not nintendo characters, Snake's from Konami and Sonic's from Sega.

Are they actually making a new Super Smash Brothers game? I've been playing a bunch of Melee lately so I would be ready. Anyway, it would be cool to see Kagura from Gintama or Luffy from One Piece.
As for video game characters It would be interesting to see a special infected from a Left 4 Dead game. I don't know how that would work, but I bet they would find a way.

Both are MASSIVELY popular character that appeared in games available on nintendo's consoles worldwide. Thinking that some anime characters that will never ever be seen on a american TV screen will appear in a smb game is beyond dreaming. The only anime character i could see appearing is Naruto or other shounen main characters from popular anime that got plenty of games on nintendo. Not that i'd want them in at all.

I also doubt PC games characters would be imported in a smb, since the market/popularity is way too different.

As probable new character, i'd want Geno from mario RPG, i had a big let down when i saw the revelaton of a 3rd Fox clone, wolf. Isaac from golden sun would be cool too (there is a assist of him already)

Yes, yes they are. I remember they announced it last E3, and that it will have both console and 3DS ports. That is, assuming my memory isn't defunct.

I wouldn't mind seeing Isa from the new Sin and Punishment. We can expect Pit to make a return, too, probably with some features related to Uprising. Maybe a couple more Pokemon (giving the newer generations some love could pay off big time) or Fire Emblem characters would be nice. Maybe some of the other bounty hunters from Metroid. Corruption and Hunters have tons of potential for that. Heck, even Dark Samus would be welcome.

Anime characters, though? You're barking up the wrong tree. In the wrong forest.

Jump Ultimate Stars is this way. Think there was one for the FSN universe too but I don't remember what it's called.

Nothing wrong with dreaming though, right? Saber vs Link would be pretty cool... I guess? Most of my dream characters are fairly niche and would probably have a negative chance :S

Nope, there's nothing wrong about dreaming and yeah, that'll be cool if Saber and Link fight in an epic battle :)

As far as conceivable non-nintendo characters featured in game I'd like to see
-Travis Touchdown (No More Heroes series)
-Amaterasu (Okami series, I may have the name wrong)
-It would be cool to have another sonic character preferably Knuckles

I heard that nintendo developed that new The Last Story and Pandora's Tower games so maybe one of the characters from it will be in the game.

Snake's inclusion had more to do with Kojima than Sakurai -- he pushed for Snake to be included in Melee and then continued to push for him to be included in Brawl. And Sonic's inclusion had more to do with his popularity than Sakurai -- Sonic was the only character that wasn't decided on before development on Brawl began, and was only included after Japanese fans requested him more than any other character.

The anime characters you listed definitely wouldn't be included, and none of the VG characters you listed are likely. There has been a rumor that a Capcom character may be included in SSB4, but the three you list -- Ryu, Wesker, and Dante -- wouldn't fit the game very well: Ryu is already a fighting game character, Wesker is an antagonist (Chris or Leon would be included before him), and Dante isn't mainstream enough. And Wesker and Dante are too mature, anyway (even Snake has a playful side, with his cardboard box and tongue-in-cheek codec conversations).

If another third party character is included, it's going to be someone like Geno or Mega Man.

(I'm not trying to take the air out of your ideas, which are interesting -- I would love to see Saber and Link cross swords -- but just saying that they're highly unlikely.)

More than anything, I think I'd like too see Waluigi be a playable character. It's about damn time that lanky weirdo got a chance to shine XD
