Basically, it's just 'designer' technology. If you have apple products, it makes you look rich. It amuses me how so many people in Singapore have an iPhone. Hell, I saw an old lady playing Angry Bird with much enthusiasm on her iPhone. Not only that, but apple products are so easy to use though. Apple knows what people want, stupid or not. I own an iTouch 2g and an iPad 2, but I would never even bother upgrading unless they're broken or dead, and that is going to take a very long time, considering the fact that my itouch is still going well after almost 4 years. I first bought an iTouch to see what all the hype about iPods is about. Back then, owning an iTouch, everyone at school wanted to play with it. 4 years later, almost everyone has the latest iPhone. I like the fact that it's easy to use. Even a 5 year old can use apple products. (It's like brainwashing, no? Teaching little kids to use apple products in their childhood almost guarantees they'll use it well into adulthood.) But I find that people upgrading to the newest product when they already have the one released last year, so very stupid. Ok, upgrading any phone (iPhone or not) when your two year contract ends, fair enough. I wouldn't mind getting an iPhone, considering that being a major gamer, I have so many games from the app store and it would be a hassle to repurchase from the android store. I'd still prefer the SGS2 though. Apple also claims to be educational, and nowadays, schools are using apple products and such. A school I saw on TV gets iPads for education purposes. Apple is like a cult. Modified by fafsdfsdafsag, 04-15-12, 9:12 PM I like bubble teaaa~ Bubble tea for meee~ I'll have it for breakfast, I'll have it for tea, a little each day is a good recipee~ |

I've never owned an apple product, i've only used ipods, macs, etc from other people. Apple fails. Macs fail. Learn a thing about computers and you'll realize. It's funny hearing that saying, "Macs never get viruses" I just LOL. I just have to say this to those dum people ![]() |

Hmm... The only thing to really say here is that most people hate Apple for the pure fact that it's Apple, and nothing more. Kind of sad... I've tried every Apple product to date (except for their towers), and have owned a few ipods. They're not anywhere near as bad as people make them out to be, but then, I guess you really have to look at your priorities. Apple's mac pro towers are definitely overpriced; ridiculously overpriced, I might say. They're not bad per say, just a really poor deal. The same goes for macbooks; you can buy laptops with those specs for much cheaper. On that note, Apple's iMac's surprisingly aren't a bad deal; but then, it really depends on what you're looking for. Try finding a 27' inch LED monitor with that kind of pixel density for cheap. Monitors like that go for around $1000 market value, which means the computer itself is valued at around $700 to $1000, and for the specs involved, it's not a bad deal. That said, I would never buy one. I hate OSX. And yes, I've tried one. My school had them for graphic design -shutters- I fucking hate OSX. I've also tried Ipad's. Really, the only thing I have to say about these are that they're lightning fast app-machines. I wouldn't get one if you don't plan on utilizing their app-store. I kind of wanted one in the past because it would have been a great way to store and read manga, but I'm not spending $500 on that. Regardless, I don't think they're a bad deal. The app-store on a machine like the ipad can be more than worth its price. As for me, I give zero fucks about the app-store. But people have different interests. And here we come to the ipods. These, imho, have always been an absolutely great deal. Though... most people who criticize the ipod are too stupid to even know what they're criticizing. I got into a huge crapfest with this shit in this thread. That thread is the most pathetic attempt at criticizing ipods I've been involved in. There's simply nothing to criticize. They're not mp3 players. They're multimedia players. Don't buy an ipod if your sole concern is music. Like, for fucks sakes, people get all pissy about itunes (falsely accusing it of shit) and that apple has an average sound card. What are you, running and traveling with Sennheiser's bobbling on your head? You go through the streets with those? Most people, including myself, use earphones on the run, so an above average sound card is virtually useless. Sennheiser's belong at home, where you can utilize your computer's sound card properly. I think we could make a fairly generous estimate of at least 1 : 10,000. Although the real figure is probably a lot closer to 1: 100,000, if not more. Of course this is not a reflection of superior security on Macs part, simply a case of hackers targeting the largest share of the market. But the point still stands that Macs are a lot less vulnerable to PCs when it comes to computer viruses. And I don't even own a Mac. |

I don't like Apple products. They have enough money already, why should I help them? I don't like macintosh, I have to work with them at college and they are not so good as they say. I could crash an Mac 3 times just by editing video, thing that never happened with my windows. I bought a laptop for 399 euros with the same specs has an 799 euros Mac laptop. What's the point? Never had problems with windows, people just have to learn how to take care of them. Mac is good for someone who doesn't know what is doing to be honest. I'm not being rude but with a windows you just have to do things carefully, with a mac you can do what you want without being careful But that article really proves that Apple does what they want with people and that people are materialistic and stupid enough to do what they want. |

Might as well buy a similarly solid PC for half the price and then put a little bit into antivirus software if the free ones aren't good enough. Heathens, all of you! Go ahead and ignore the Sacred Light emanating from the Holy Apple! Continue to walk away from true enlightenment, and you will be forever damned! You will remain infidels, heretics! But the Blessed Company is forgiving. Embrace the Sacred Light, have faith in the True Word, and believe the teachings of the Holy Apple, and true enlightenment shall be upon you. Paradise shall await you in the afterlife. All Hail the Holy Apple! Blessed is the True Word! Glory be to those who bask in the Sacred Light! May we forever stay true to the teachings of the Blessed Company. ![]() |

My old laptop was a crap who broke after a year, my bf pc it has almost 3 years and it works perfectly fine. The brand of my old laptop was a crap who had lots of complaints. Never had problems with windows besides that. With Macs, well the college macs ruined my usb pen and to a few more people. I looked heavily into tablet alternatives a year or two back, but kept running into similarly priced or more expensive products and crappy Taiwanese ripoffs (there's a lot on the market). I didn't want a laptop/notebook pc due to my specific needs. Needless to say, I'm surprised the iPad is selling well because I can't imagine most people having my needs. I don't know what they would do with the product. I still have the 1st gen (@ $100 price drop) and it still serves my purposes to this day. Won't upgrade so long as it serves my specific purposes, which it does. I built my PC and don't own an iPhone (not even a smartphone since I have no use for it), but I needed something for specific use, so I got it, and it serves my purposes. Have gotten a lot of use out of it and will continue to do so until it breaks down (heck I baked my pc graphics card in the oven to fix it - A+ worked like a boss, will bake again). "It just werks." |

Seriously why are you guys getting so worked up about this? If you don't want to own one fine. I enjoyed the original iPhone and from that I moved up to the newest model the iPhone 4S. Their products are aesthetically appealing and I enjoy the flow that I get from buying music or movies (when I actually buy a song that I like) and it instantly moving to my iPhone. Anyways, the point I'm making is that if you don't want to own one then don't, just don't go around and acting like a bunch of pricks about it. While other naive fanboys and fangirls run around in real life forming clubs and squealing in deafening high pitch noises about their favourite animus, we remain here, meticulously dismantling the credibility of each and every show, until all that remains is a steaming pile of tropes and ass pulls which we then devour to gratiyfy our glutinous and masochistic desires. |

I have an iPod Touch 4th Gen, and a Classic iPod 5th gen, and I love them. But the new versions getting minor upgrades is true. I still don't understand the appeal of the Macbook, I will stick with a good old fashioned PC until I have to switch. |
