Pretty good start, just kinda annoyed with the crappy "my relatives are unrealistic assholes trope" But damn does Sentaro's VA have a sexy sexy voice. It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die. |

This was absolutely amazing. It's a really nice change from all the bad SoL I've been seeing recently. Just shows that when two people do the same thing, it's not the same thing. I LOVED the music, which accompanied the fight on the roof and when he was meeting the girl's dad. Also, the drum beats actually synchronizes with what he's playing, which is always nice to see (lol compared to Kiniro no Corda. And sometimes even K-ON). All the characters are really likeable and charismatic, without being boxed into categories (all the deres out there...). Oh and the voice actors are amazing. The only thing I disliked was the whole cliche of the main guy's family. Especially the sister (?) and the maid which are actually there. The thing the maid said (something along the lines of his mother's a bitch) seemed forced and unrealistic. Obviously I have really high hopes for this and can't wait for next week. |

That little girl... e.o But great first episode! Most of the characters are very likable, and it's one of the few animes where I actually love the protagonist. :D Why only 11 eps? D: I've never seen a 1966 setting. Looks fun~ |

Great Episode! Well, looking at the staff, I was expecting something interesting. The animation is good, nay especially georgeous - almost movie-quality - during the drum scene. The jazzy ambiance is a must for me. I hope it continues at this pace. |

The only word I have for this show is AMAZEBALLS! Easily the best thing airing this season. Art, music, pacing all top notch. Only 11 eps, but that is the Noitamina way. Will be sad when this one ends, brilliant premiere. |

This anime has some decent potential, as long as it doesn't turn too maudlin. But the opening and closing songs - what is this CRAP doing in a story about kids learning about jazz in the 60s? Those sorts of songs were fine for Natsume Yuujinchou, but in an anime about 60s jazz????? |

The drum part was incredible, it was pitch perfect and the animation was extraordinary. Great first episode despite the very peculiar character design. It was extrepmely different from what I'd pictured but Watanabe still shines in this kind of slice-of-life/old school/music setting. Well, he IS a great music director too. |

Jazz is awesome and they did an amanzing job to get the drum playing right. y'know it's Yoko Kanno-verse! she'd done well in jazz music! No doubt about it! x] One of the few series that I've anticipated and actually loved from episode one. Thursdays = my new favorite day. xD |
