Can someone please tell me how much worse the uncensored urotsukidoji Chōjin Densetsu Urotsukidōji ova is compared to the theatrical western release?

| Is the Perfect Version (Anime18) still the best? I downloaded an AVI of it about 10 years ago and the picture turns to crap when there's a lot of movement (reflection on the AVI not the DVD) |
| According to ANN, Kitty Media were going to release an OVA Collection in 2013 (actually it indicates they released it). Although some sites list it for sale (often as "discontinued") from what I can tell this never came about. Not been able to get a reply from Kitty over it. They did however release a BD/DVD of the film as most people are probably aware. The BD is reportedly cropped to widescreen but I bought the DVD for the sake of having something. In case anyone's intererested: [compared to an updated download I have of the Perfect Collection] for the most part the picture is an improvement on the quality of the PC, though this varies with some scenes. Weirdly some of the image is lost from top of the frame, and gained at the bottom. Likewise some is gained at the sides though overall the picture is thinner with black borders at both ends, typical of when something is ripped from a VHS and there is noise at the edges (which causes the image to be squashed too thin). NB the size of these borders change because this was made up from various sources... Otherwise the reframing could all be a consequence of how the film was made in the first place (can't be bothered to check). It actually looks like the whole thing is being presented in close to its proper ratio on the DVD though, the PC does look quite stretched in comparison (the download at least). It probably could've done with being made a bit wider to fill some of the black at the sides though, hard to tell.  But clearly all anyone really cares about is having fully uncut tentacle porn which we'll probably never have again :P |
