A few of those discussion post counts look lower than they are supposed to be. During the week I noticed some series' discussion posts' reply counts go down a few times. When I checked to see what was going on, it turned out that some older replies from those threads were gone. Would it be possible for a recheck to be done to make sure that all the discussion post counts are accurate for this two week period?

Edit: After double-checking, Eureka Seven AO, Kore wa Zombie Desu ka of the Dead, Uchuu Kyoudai and Zetman all should have anywhere from one to nine more discussion posts in their counts. There could be others.

I checked all four series manually and all numbers are correct. Did you maybe save the old (wrong) details and used these for your calculations?

No, I manually checked them according to the replies' timestamps and counted them.

Okay, here is how I calculate the posts:

Since I wanted screenshots of the boards to compare I had to calculate new results (there are some new posts). These new results are calculated at 4:19 AM UTC. I put the new posts in brackets. I also added the screenshots of the boards (please note that the timestamp here is UTC+2).

w2 + w4 + w6 + w8 (new results, subtract the new posts to get the original number of posts)

Eureka Seven AO: 123 + 219 + 162 + 221 = 725 (4 news posts) screenshot of the board
Kore wa Zombie Desu ka of the Dead = 282 + 192 + 156 + 228 = 858 (3 new posts) screenshot of the board
Uchuu Kyoudai = 199 + 106 + 93 + 67 = 465 (2 new posts) screenshot of the board
Zetman: = 280 + 143 + 130 + 89 = 642 (0 new posts) screenshot of the board

Everything is calculated correctly and the number of new posts since the official calculation for week 8 is also correct.
Maybe you can explain how you exactly count posts?

Well, the problem here is that counting only by looking at the boards without verifying things inside can get deceptive. Some of the old replies from past weeks seem to have disappeared. That was how I noticed, because the number of replies for a post had gone down but the number of new replies hadn't dropped. So, I went directly into the individual discussion posts and counted up replies whose timestamps were between 5/13/2012 18:00 UTC and 5/27/2012 18:00 UTC. I keep it organized according to Episode # discussion post, and I separate old replies (everything from previous weeks) from the new replies. As an example, Eureka Seven AO:

Episode 1 discussion: 145 replies from before including original post, 1 new reply
Episode 2 discussion: 132 replies from before including original post, 1 new reply
Episode 3 discussion: 74 replies from before including original post, no new replies
Episode 4 discussion: 85 replies from before including original post, 6 new replies
Episode 5 discussion: 58 replies from before including original post, 33 new replies
Episode 6 discussion: 73 new replies including original post
Episode 7 discussion: 113 new replies including original post

So that should be 1 + 1 + 6 + 33 + 73 + 113.

Does this make enough sense?

Yeah, I think I understand now how you did it. I think the problem is how the rule is formulated. This is again something we need to make clearer next season, so thanks for pointing this out.

I doubt that posts in the previous seasons were counted like you did it because that's much more complicated and time-consuming. So what the rule rather meant and what it definitely means this season is:

+25 points for each forum post in the anime's episode discussion threads in the previous two weeks (counted every two weeks using the replies column and the number of topics found on the anime's discussion board)

I could certainly automate your method, but that would mean a lot more server accesses to get the information and that's something I want to avoid at all cost, it's already more than planned.

Posts get removed if they violate the rules, for example spam or flame. If a spam post is counted in one week it's only fair that the points get subtracted later after the removal, otherwise it would just promote spam. I can understand that this is problematic because when people swap an anime later they get less points then. But at the moment I don't see a way to change this without creating a huge server load which I can't approve of.

I see. Thank you for the quick response, and I understand the dilemma re: server load concerns. It's my first FAL and while I was aware that spam and flame posts do get removed, I wasn't sure what the policy would be in such a situation.
