Car Makers want to collaborate on Anime.

Toyota : PES
Nissan : Rinne no Lagrange
Honda : one off

Japanese young people tend not to buy cars recently. They don't want to buy them, because of long recession. Besides, in urban areas, especially Tokyo and Osaka, the transport systems are well instrolled, and people don't need their own cars.
Makers are suffering from the decreasing in their car sales.
These collaborations wolud be the commercial for the young who like to watch Anime to buy cars.

Wow, that was incredible; very creative. I hadn't heard of any collaborations between car companies and Japanese animation studios before, but I really enjoyed that Toyota ad. I hope we get to see more of these in the near future.

Japanese car manufacturers have it tough. The high yen coupled with ever increasing competition from both America and South Korea is making their cars harder to sell at the same pricepoints. They need to make up sales somewhere and maybe advertising their stuff through this format will help boost sales in Japan. They are already having problems for their exported versions due to both the quake and the ever increasing yen. Honda has already stepped backward in quality when they released their new Civic. The cost cutting is very evident on it compared to the last generation. All while Chevy came out with the Cruze which is a huge leap forward in quality and Hyundai has their new Elantra which offers a great package at an even lower price.

Nissan seems to have the most issues regarding the yen issue. Their prices have been creeping up year after year. Just a few years ago when I was car shopping, I was looking at a new 370z and you could get one for less than 30 grand. You can't even get a completely base one for less than 32 grand now. That's a decent price hike on the base edition which only translates into a more expensive decently equipped one. Even with the devaluing of the dollar and inflation, that's still a significant increase compared to other vehicles. These next couple of years will be interesting to see on how Japan deals with this issue and remaining competitive with their ever improving competition. This isn't the 90's anymore where the competition was downright shameful. They need to really come up with some good ideas or they're going to be left behind.

The trailer looks amazing but I don't like how each episode is so short.
