THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Marvelous first episode. I totally like the Old School style with a fresh brush up of HD. The setup and character designs are exactly that good looking. I remember back in the old days this series was amazing, This is what anime used to be and stood for among other values totally N/A as of the recent seasons. This is a total gem I loved back at University in the anime club. It was shitty due to the VHS but now this episode changes that. First off the rescues by Seiya in the following spoiler
was so nice. Saving baby Kouga from the little one looks like. Seiya was so cool looking in the following,

T_T it brought me to tears of the quality and expressions you don’t find in animes that much anymore. Got to say Saori’s beauty captivated me as much as Athena does in myths.

IN general the episode was nice but that end! The end! Ooooh! Now that EPIC 9000! Now that was some classical good stuff of that.

That transformation of Kouga in the following,

Was done really well for old school. I totally see this as something rare. Rare to see animes using all these methods and techniques but hard to explain also that’s why in general I mention it. Still the transformation and the attack along with those Uzi punches on that bad guy. I loved it and its style is something no anime will have in this season. This is a keeper for me.

Look who are in the OP ... They are all here !
Oh Shaina, you are always the same.
And Tatsumi too ... XD
The power of Athena disappear little by little.
And the instrumental music ...of Pegasus Fantasy when he have his cloth !

This is my first time watching Seiya series.

The art is a bit old but at least the Animation is better than most Anime.

Not bad actually, I was thinking I might have to drop it but glad that's not the case
Kouga as the typical rebellious teen hahaha props for Seiya and his awesomeness~ Though the Cosmo thing was quite repetitive but I guess it's needed for explanation
Been a long time since I watched SS (only watched the original series not the other ones) so Athena, Seiya, etc. were quite nostalgic~

Better than I expected, nostalgia is sure a powerful thing.
The OST, the part with the rock and the explanation about cosmos... so good.
My only gripe would be Mars's look. Wish they'd used a human look like all the previous Saint Seiya gods.

I think it was just ok!
As a fan of Saint Seiya series, I think the history was a little too much alike Lost Canvas, without the amazing art.
Seiya still the worst saint as usually haha
Kouga is very nice... not as nice as Tenma, but better than Seiya.
Shaina looks amazing, I really liked her part..
So...my conclusion is that Omega is going to be a nice anime... nothing really great that I can say "OMG, this is good as any Shaka's match!!" but probably will be an anime around 7 score.

PS: the opening is great!!! Loved the new version :D

Am I the only one who is slightly lost? I mean i have seen all the series of S.S. from the original, the ovas, the movies, and lots canvas, and if im not mistaken after the ova when they beat hades seiya got put into a coma tose state as was revealed by one of the movies, and expanded on by one of the spin off mangas, now here is my point, since it is cannon, doesn't this mean that since seiya is now a gold saint a significant ammount of time has pased? i mean tatsumi is atleast 20 years older. seiya is now a gold saint but how he went from being comatose to a gold saint leaves somthing to be desired doesnt it?, am I wrong cause i dont read the manga well i do read the manga of the gold saints and the spin off of saint seiya but i was just wondering if anyone else is lost or if its just me this is just nagging at me. I wonder if they managed to find a new gemini saint he is my favorite.

It could either be a remake version or that indeed time passed and things on track again until it was found out and hence you have that first fight, to get Athena and the kid.

A lot of years have passed, maybe they found a way to cure him. Who knows. Maybe they'll give an explanation.

I'm glad that they returned Saint CasshernSeiya, and Toru Furuya narrating and reading the episode title was the best things my ears heard since hearing Norio Wakamoto counting sheeps. The only question is (since my Japanese ain't that high level), is Seiya alive or? It looked like he was in the bronze cloth (now bronze crystal (haven't finished the original so I have no idea whether they used it there too)) or something. I really hoped seeing an alive version him, serving as some sort of a mentor. Glad seeing that tribute to the original (Shaina training Kouga just like Maron trained Seiya), and the opening was really good.

It was appealing to my eyes, as Umakoshi is the best possible choice for this job. Too bad Araki isn't around..

Great start for the series, and I hope they make at least 25-50eps.

I think he is alive too. He is in the OP. They should give some explanation as to why the sudden appearance and dissapearance.

I think they need over 100 episodes to complete the whole thing. Maybe even more.

Liked your post, some stuff I had the similar reactions to, just bad with names.

Yeah im confused too. I also so all the movies, ova, and series.

Well i fucking hate the art style but animation is good. They should had used the same art style as Lost Canvas. I'm still pissed they didnt finish Lost Canvas.

I'm pissed Seiya sacrificed himself for this bastard boy and not Athena.

I am glad that pussy Andromeda Shun is not on here. I hope he never makes a cameo either.

I truly hope since they even changing the art style they better sure change the story. I dont want too see another civil war and then fighting hades again. Give us new gods other then Hades, Poseidon, and that god that was in that movie after the hades fight.

I read on the wiki that Saiya is the Sagittarius Seiya now. So i guess he is a mentor to Kouga. I hope Ikki makes a cameo he was always my favorite.

I loved it totally. After so many years of struggling because of lack of material and the hades ovas taking forever only for them to come back horrible and a heaven movie trilogy got canned....finally we get to see a brand new saint seiya. Where instead of being stuck in the 90's they are now moving foward. First scene was awesome and i hope we get to see the other saints soon.

Toru furuya was awesome as always

First ROFL, he does deserve that. Yeah he was quite a disgrace but not at first later on from what I remember of seeing this series. Been a while though.

I thought it was pretty cool. Almost made me wonder why Ive never watched any in the franchise before. Anyway Kouga is really cool, easily likeable main character, great character design, and poses, and I kind of like the animation style for it. Cant wait to see how deep and what the plot entails, Im sold.

Wait what? Shun is the only likeable character except Seiya in the original. Seiya's only likeable point is Toru Furuya, the sole reason I started watching the show. On the other hand, Shun features Horikawa Ryo's gentle voice, that's pretty rare. Just remember his voice as Vegeta or Hattori Heiji. Shun is by far the prettiest of them boys. Delicious.

In looks yeah but last I remember of his fighting it despite being good, paled compared to what the others displayed.

Well if you ever go back and watch the original you will see why i hate the new art style. I'll tell you now the original Saint Seiya is the king of friendship power ups. All other animes after it copy it especially that disgraceful fairy tail.
