Wished they continued a little bit more to the part where they meet at least the top 20 Japan representatives.

They left it at an unsatisfying part, but it was good.
I hate the parts where they skipped good battles, this continuation could have had more episodes that way.

Somebody please change it to finished airing so I my list can finally say it is completed!

So is New Prince of Tennis over?

Was that supposed to be 13 ep series or is it still continuing since it say "Currently Airing" in the Status?

Will there be another ep or just a 2nd season?

i dont really like the way they did most of the battles in the new prince of tennis. The long old matches in the prince of tennis was much more fun to watch.

Yeah, I was waiting for a decent tennis match, but it never happened. The closest was probably the Tezuka or Atobe match, but even those lacked any sort of tension the old matches used to have. This season was quite the disappointment.

When it was announced in the manga, I was definitely screaming because:

THE MATCHES WERE GOOD. In the manga that is.

But srsly one episode (no... LESS THAN ONE EPISODE) per game? Seriously?

And they skipped a lot of matches D:

The problem was that they rushed it all. They shouldn't have tried to put in so much in so few episodes.

What MADE the previous series of Prince of Tennis epic was that they had FULL matches rather than screen shots of points and game scores.

They concentrated too much on the training aspect of things and then left the anime at a point where people feel disappointed because the epic part of the manga is what is coming up.

3/5 for series :(

I was so looking forward to watching this but...blah is all i have to say....

"I am the bone of my sword,
Steel is my body and Fire is my blood,
I have created over a thousand blades,
Unknown to Death,
Nor known to Life,
Have withstood pain to create many weapons,
Yet, those hands will never hold anything,
So as I pray, unlimited blade works"

i can't believe people here are rating this anime low JUST because of the number of episodes and it was rushed....and people are not used to the fact that they ALWAYS cut parts from the manga when they make it into anime yet?? xD

Or how about there was not a single decent match the entire show? Considering this is a sports anime i'd like to see some well done matches, instead of shitty drama and pointless training sequences.

I really loved Prince of Tennis and when the new one appeared I was super happy ( my imaginary tail --- don't stare like you're at zoo I know everybody has one - was wagging furiously ) ... I like it a lot I think is even more good than the first season -- I observed that in the manga and anime are some differences like captain Tezuka leaves and the training on the mountain is more detailed --- I liked it very much but it is going to end? I know that the manga continues but that doesn't really mean the anime also continues... anybody knows? Please I really want to know? ( hope there will be more episodes )

As a Prince of Tennis fan, I believe that the whole thing will be animated. So far, all I can see that is considered a filler in season 1 would be the Junior Senbatsu arc. Some other so called fillers still are relevant to the main plot.

Season 2 have a more detailed Mountain training arc (which is good because it needs extra explanation into why they are able to take court 2) and it is also the main part of the series (nothing wrong here). The only thing that is rageable will be the two matches that were skipped (Krauser singles and Kirihara/Shiraishi doubles match) but there are reasons for such decisions (maybe include budget problems too). Both matches have a great deal of violence and negative atmosphere would be a good explanation as to why these episodes are not aired.

Reading the manga AND the second season would be a good way to know the story as a whole. From what I observed, Prince of Tennis Series always gives more to the viewers than other animes (Another Story series and a full animated version of the Nationals and a more complete Mountain Training arc). I believe that as long as we remain patient we, as Prince of Tennis fans, will get everything we can almost ask for at the end.

Hopefully they will make another season of NPT and go back the original style of 2 episodes per match. One episode to show them getting their ass kicked and another to show them making a comeback. I was happy with this season though as it really shows Echizen actually working to become better unlike the original where he can spontaneously become amazing.

In my part, I was really excited with all of these new episode. Graphism was a way great than older episodes, and the story is really good.
Obviously I'm frustrated of this end, and that why I will right now run for read the manga/scans.
I hope Soonly we can have an another adaptation.

This whole series was easy to watch but quite mediocre. No real story, no games on life and death, like in Ashita no Joe. I guess it's hard to develop larger than life characters over just 13 episodes, but I still think they could have used them more wisely. I will forget most of this series quite soon.

Plus for this being a male-only series, and for spreading a good morale about fighting spirit and gangbarism to Japanese boys. And for Echizen-kun's beautiful voice.

I'm more of a passive fan of PoT but this series was still a disappointment with this final episode. A lot of build up to nothing.

It felt like the only big deal out of the series was Tezuka leaving for Germany and Atobe taking his place. The training arc felt like it dragged on too much and when the Black Jerserys returned and took over Court 2 it was way too rushed.

Echizen vs Tokugawa... no real conclusion. The series was kind of misleading to build up their rivaly and nothing came out of it but a motivation speech from Tokugawa to Echizen. Whole thing just felt like a big waste of time.

Guess they have excuse to drag on in the OVA though

I'm in that weird minority that actually enjoyed this more than the first series. Quite honestly, I've grown tired of Prince of Tennis matches, so the adaptation's approach on putting more focus on actually training and building mental strength rather than coming up with and defeating superpowers in contests of will power and random bullshit, not to mention the extremely repetitive flow of every match, was excellent.

Of course, most fans come for the matches and expect more fidelity to the original story, so I can't blame them. But overall I really enjoy the original spins brought by the anime and wouldn't mind at all if it went in a completely different direction from the manga. 8/10, one point above the first series.

Right Saver? Is it meant to sound like "lightsaber" LOL

Man, Sanada gives the best speeches. He's more of a captain than a vice-captain.
Tokugawa didn't even get that much of a character lol.

Overall I liked it, though it was short for 13 episodes. But I would've preferred that they made it one ep per match, like in the nationals OVAs because I really wanted to see my favorites play.

So much better than the whole Nationals arc. The whole "hit 10 balls at once" thing is somewhat realistic if compared to Tezuka's door of perfection or all that cloning shit.

My only big complaint is that there was too much training and not enough matches. The OP sequence showed us fabulous animation but they didn't really show those matches in the actual show.

Big highlight for me was the amazing art and animation. SOOOO good. I didn't think the guys were that good looking in the prequels but they were in this series. I also thought the comedy and character development were better here. (especially the episode with Oishi vs Eiji)

Might read the manga afterwards, but after this redeemed the supernatural bullshit from the Nationals arc, consider me back into a fan of PoT.

BTW, Inui's mummy costume...Every time I see it, I burst out laughing.

What an unsatisfying ending!! I need to see more!!! Why are there only 13 episodes (I know, because the manga is just released as well but) TT______TT

Kinda sad to see Tezuka leaving, wonder if he'll appear again somewhere in the series..

Just a question though, is Yukimura not part of court 3 (former court 5)? He wasnt there on the benches during the court 5 versus (former) court 3 match... Though I think Yukimura is already beyond that of the level of the other high schoolers there, maybe except for Tezuka. Would've loved to see more Yukimura matches.

Want to see more Ryoma in action! And the others as well in matches between the middle schoolers versus the court 1 guys!

Really want and need a sequel of this!!!

Edit: wait a second, there's already a sequel (OVA) and it's ongoing?? But where can i watch it? O_____O

Minna, if you want to see the detailed matches of the parts that you are unsatisfied in the New Prince of Tennis anime, then here is the link to it: http://www.animenova.tv/category/the-new-prince-of-tennis

There are the continuation of the NPOT's 13 episode series which are the OVAs of the NPOT (New Prince of Tennis Specials). But please be reminded that those episode haven't been subbed yet... so just bear with it. :D

Not a bad season overall. I wish we got to see more matches though. During the National Tournament we got one match per episode. It's too bad this wasn't 26 episodes.

It looks like the OVAs are next.

Seems like the author lost track of the direction of this series. The original anime had much better character development and story, which made it very enjoyable. It started becoming kinda random in the nationals arc and now with the hitting multiple balls it's getting further and further away from tennis.

Well I enjoyed this one. Much better than the Nationals arc as it focused on the actual training and hard work and mental fortitude the players built up in order to play well, instead of auras and power battles and such (although if they had shown all the training that led up to the auras, I doubt I'd have minded the ridiculousness of the nationals OVAs). I do wish it was longer and showed us the matches in full though. I liked seeing the pairs duke it out once more at the end, but the lack of resolution for Ryoma vs Tokugawa is a rather anti-climactic end. This season really doesn't stand on its own, it's clear it's meant to be just one chapter in the Tenipuri journey, and I have the next OVAs to watch so I don't mind too much the lack of a real ending.

Anyway, it was nice to see Tenipuri done with gorgeous animation. All the characters looked really good, even Kin-chan was kind of handsome in his own way lol. And I'm always happy to see the different schools interact with each other.

Glad to see that the Black Jerseys took in charge of the Court 2. While the players in the opposing courts are competing, it seems like Ryoma took a step further by challenging Tokugawa again xD

IMO, this season is inferior in comparison with the old series (though much better than the National Tournament), but it's still enjoyable on its own. I'mma go ahead and watch the specials and OVAs~
