I absolutely loved this series. Even if they don't continue on, I'll still be satisfied, but all of the new little plot points they introduced were so great. There's a lot of potential for another solid season. I really liked Kana's new goal of becoming a card reader. I immediately loved Chihaya when I started this show, but Kana was a character that definitely grew on me.
One of the strengths of this show is its beautiful score. They reuse the same music cues over and over, but it's still incredibly effective. I hope this show catches on more and expands beyond its cult audience. It's a terrific gem.
EdenBaggins said: I really love Taichi, he's such a complex and well developed character, I think he will be the one I'll miss the most.
They ended two of my all-time favourite animes this week. *cries*
I was a bit disappointed, I was somehow hoping for a TaichixChihaya moment. But oh well...
Lazu said: There wasn't any conclusion to the character's relationships.
And I didn't mean the pairing way.
We still don't know... how Arata actually stands with Chihaya and Taichi. There just wasn't... enough.
One of the best series I've seen in recent years. I absolutely love all the characters, the music, the drama, the comedy, the animation, the opening, the ending,... everything!! Now, I want a second season, that would be awesome, please!? *_*
1. I'm so sad that this is over ;__;
2. Screw Chihaya x Arata and Chihaya x Taichi, I'm rooting for the chibi romance
3. I love Arata's pink cellphone and his pink wallpaper, and how Taichi and Arata were talking on the phone together
Wow, I LOVED this episode. It was such a good ending one T_T
K, so the Master won, we see a bit more into his feelings I suppose. I had a total bromance moment there when Taichi called Arata lol XD IS THIS THE TRUE PAIRING?! LOL XD Well Arata's friend that quit is playing again ... hmm ;O
Aww, Tsutomu has notes for Chihaya's one syllable cards :D That was just AMAZING (and I LOVED the music that was played then lol), so touching T_T Then Kana and her dream to become a reader ... loved it! Especially when she realized how hard it was ... lol, class A requirement XD Oh and Taichi practicing his swing was ♥♥♥ HE'S SO COOL XD Even the Empress ... 5 new members?! That will be interesting ... although I kind of like just the 5 that are there already lol X_X
Ah, the next year and Chihaya's the same ... THERE MUST BE A SECOND SEASON! D;
Overall ... wow. I LOVED this show! XD I mean all the characters are AMAZING (ESPECIALLY TAICHI), the animation was really nice and the music was a good touch too :3 Plus I loved how this show made me FEEL ... I could NOT wait every week for the next episode :P I loved it so much ... so ... well, I was debating on whether I should give it a 9 or 10, but eventually decided on 10/10 :D
Loved it! The anime rounded up in style, but what I read is that they followed the Manga until the final episode. I am hopeful for a second season because the anime deserves it.
I seriously don't know why an anime of Chahayafuru's caliber cannot sell DVDs or BDs. I am actually shocked.
Loved the way Komano, Kana-chan and Nishida played important roles in Chihaya's road to become the Queen. While Arata and Taichi became close enough to expect one another's calls and work on their way to become the next Master. The introduction of the current Mastar Suo was intriguing. While I want to see Shinobu-chan lose a bit of (!) her weight.
Great anime. Great moments. Couldn't have asked for more. It was fun. Sometimes sad. Often inspiring. And most importantly, full of passion for the thing they loved, or I should say, the thing that got them all together, as they fell in love with it. Karuta.
If they never make a second season, I want to say this: Chihayafuru will be missed.
I remember trying out the first episode of this show. I would've never thought it'd be this fun to watch. Really solid series and I really hope that it comes out with a second season. Also really loved the ending. I liked how they left lots of room left for more.
It's a pity how this started out really good and then just got kinda lame halfway through. It started to get kinda boring, not bad, just repetitive. I'm hoping for a second season though. I'd really like to see everyone progress further.
UGH!!! I feel like I've been watching this anime for years somehow!;____;
I loved it so so much!!♥ One of the few anime I ever gave a perfect 10 to! I think the best part of this episode was definitely Kana-chan's resolutions and adorable shyness~ Such a cutie pie!!(♥ó㉨ò)ﾉ♡
I REALLLYY REALLLYYYY hope for a second season! In a better time-slot hopefully?? I believe it was way good enough to deserve one!♥ Mega loves for all of these babies, and high hopes to more attention to Arata i the second season~!xD
That was a very fun ride! I reallly liked the show, I even liked how they managed the ending (considering the manga is still ongoing) although my 8/10 rating of it could be higher if it didn't make me feel we desperately need a second season to proper finish this story.
It was a great surprise (I'm sure until now there's plenty people that haven't watched this show yet because they don't believe that "card game" premise could developed so well).
Oh, btw, the way Arata and Taichi were talking like bros on the phone was cool, motivating Taichi even to go Sudo-sadist on Chihaya! Funny, but yeah, with Kana saying her dream to be a reader, look at that, they did not even tried to hide we're halfway the story with this many sequel hooks, I didn't notice if a season 2 was announced yet but with a finale like that it almost seems it was! And I hope it will! xP
I really do hope they make a 2nd season! I found this series to be a refreshing change from what I normally watch. I really really really want to see more of Taichi x Chihaya. I got all excited when they went up in Taichi's room alone, oh well.. Hoping for more.
It was cool to see the teacher backup the Karuta club considering she was so against it within the first few episodes. :p
It was also cool how they used the scene from the first episode to end the series. I guess the whole series was just a flashback after all... lol... :D
Overall, awesome series, I really enjoyed it! I didn't think I would get into it but Karuta was more interesting than I thought. Really hoping for a second season considering they left it open for another one. (basically hinting it) xD
i need 2nd season soooooooooooooo much!!! OH MY GOD one of the best josei anime ever!!! All the character are so unique and interesting especially my lovely QUEEN Shinobu!! Awww <333
I want to see what happens next... I wonder why this anime is soooooooooo unpopular in japan.. is it really because this was shown late night, so the only people who can watch this is an otaku, and i heard that otaku in japan can't appreciate good show with smart and engaging plot with no fanservice in it, so it isn't popular there... :( :( :(
i have a feeling that this show will be like Fruits Basket, a really good Shoujo/Josei anime, that everyone sure will get a 2nd season but it never happened.... :(
man this anime disappointed me. none of my fave characters won, no budding romance consummated, and no closure. unless this is just posturing for a season 2. even still tho i expect more from a finale.
I really liked this series, I gave it a 10/10. It had so many heartwarming moments in it. Didn't really feel Arata as a main character but everyone else was really good. I kinda wished they had won more games towards the end. But oh well, I enjoyed the journey ^^.
An incomplete series with an anticlimactic ending. It's lovely; it's eye candy; it's ear candy; but still, it's nothing! No resolutions to our lovely triangle, no resolutions to their karuta careers, only a gang of half-beatup fighters still chasing their dreams.
If there isn't a second season, I'll be sorely disappointed.
