It's sad to see Inu X Boku ahead of Natsume (truly undeserving), but Natsume is still selling well, which is great. Need more seasons!!!!

Brave 10 sales don't look that good so far, we'll see if it makes it to a second season. Not that I particularly care, but seeing as the second half of the first season was more entertaining then the first one I'd check it out in the hope that it keeps improving.

There's no such thing as being deserving or undeserving of sales.

And I'm importing both anyway. Both are great shows.

Highschool DxD was actually decent, hope they do a second season if sales keep going strong, the potential is there.

Yeah, there will be some hate because of the fan service but it was a good show, hope it gets a second season.

Not be all end all, but preorders are very important, especially for anime in Japan. And sales in the first week make up a very significant chunk of overall sales (usually between 70% and 90% of what is reported by Oricon, lifetime, often over 80%).

The numbers being discuss, even if not part of my quote chain, were BK sales and Nisemono's presales, which brought up the conclusion that Nise is a bit of a drop off from BK. As important as presales may be to stalkers, they aren't conclusive sales figures.

I don't know a lot about Stalker points are and honestly couldn't care less about forecasting statistics that don't represent money I am personally responsible for. The comparison and conclusions just looked apples to oranges.

The discussion they were having is still fair, because there are some assumptions we can make, fairly safely (but of course not with absolute certainty), about Nise vs Bake, based on sales trends in general. And you say you don't care, so you might not care about the following, but it's still worth saying for anyone who does care:

1) Nise will be more front-loaded than Bake.
Bake Vol. 1 only sold 44,885 in its first week for various reasons (including low supply), and 82,803 overall. That's only 54% of total sales made in the first week, which is exceptionally rare. it went on to rank for more than 30 weeks thereafter. But Vol. 6, with its delays and with everyone already being on board and buying, Bake did 90.5% of its sales for that volume in the opening week. Expect Nise to be a closer to 90% than 50%. Maybe about 70-75%% to start since it's a Vol. 1, but back up around 80-90% later on.

2) Nise will see a more normal sales progression, with each volume dropping over the last.
Unless some special bonus is included in a later volume. Bake went up and down for various reasons, not least being story structure (one girl per disc, easy to just buy the ones you like) and Shaft production issues (terrible broadcast version of Nadeko Snake cleaned up for the BDs helped make Vol. 4 the top seller). So even if Nise gets to 80k Vol. 1 like Bake, it isn't likely to see a 84k Vol. 4 or 80k Vol. 6 (well, 5 since it's one volume shorter).

It'll be one of the best selling shows of all time, guaranteed, so whether it's 60k or 75k or whatever almost doesn't matter (well, it matters to the production committee of course), but there are reasons to believe that early estimates and first week sales are a lot more telling for Nise than Bake.
