The last episode of "Digimon Xros Wars: Toki wo Kakeru Shounen Huntertachi". And the last episode of "Digimon Xros Wars" overall (next month, "Saint Seiya Omega" will make its debut in the same day and hour "Digimon Xros Wars" was incorporated in the last two seasons - the first season was on a Tuesday afternoon, japanese time) ;)
Lots of action on this last episode - but a bittersweet happy ending in the end ;)
Hmm, this was an okay episode, I felt like despite this being the final showdown, last episode was WAAAAAAAAY better, probably due to the fights and lack of heroes action
Seeing them in data blocks made me lol, kinda freaky to be honest hahaha
BUT WOW THAT OLD MAN WAS ACTUALLY ******, never would've expected, holy freak
but yea like what everyone basically predicted Gumdramon going epic and xrosing with the thing and basically owning Quartzmon ._.;
7/10 overall due to the horrible digimon of the week pacing (which most of them didnt even end up being used except for that one whole screenshot at the end) and I guess it just didn't have any epicness compared to last season :I
I find it really stupid that everyone just let themselves get eaten... Yes, I know at that point them getting eaten isn't going to make that much of a power differance, but still, compare that to gumdramon and that's still a huge power differance. If they had digimon that wanted to stay, why didn't they just freaking hop in the xrosloaders, srs, that protects digimon from almost anything lol. At the point that Taigiru was all alone, I was more expecting a Xros-Open to free people, because I really cant see taigiru doing anything worth anything..srs, even Zenjiro saving the world would be better than taigiru..
The last season where Taiki and the band had to fight Bugramon was much better! All the Digimons xrosed with Shoutomon X7! :) Certainly, it was obvious that Gumdramon would become Superior Mode again. However, I'd love to see some guys from cross overs. What I mean is that there should be seen Sora and other teammates. And Bugramon reincarnated, wow. I haven't expected it.
Well, have anyone heard if there would be coming next season of "Digimon" or it's final series?
short story: The feelings I got from this episode could be summed up into: lolwut? 2/5
long story:
Tagiru once again becomes the hero and saves the day through the power of scriptwriters. Him being the 6th hero, even though he did nothing at all besides what every other hunter was doing? lolwut? Seriously, he did nothing to deserve being the hero compared to leads of other seasons and ESPECIALLY not Taiki. Choosing him as the 6th hero was completely random and without anything backing it. Actually, there are WAY MORE reasons to get him as far from a fight like that as possible.
In the end we learnt that bringing those legendary heroes was completely pointless, because they were only necessary for gettig the brave snatcher. lolwut? They made a big deal out of them, made it the biggest hook for the season and all purpose for them there we get is getting an item? That was WAY too anticlimactic even for this season. Not to mention that all of a sudden Digimon can Digicross with tools? lolwut? The brave snatcher's power was also left unexplained. I mean, it was created for the sole purpose of destroying Quartzmon? Why couldn't they create something they wouldn't have to chase down people from across the time? It makes no sense.
Bugramon saving the world because he wanted to try it? lolwut? So, now the great and powerful Digimon that ruled the Digiworld for some time and nearly destroyed real world changes into an old man and saves the same real world for fun? LOLWUT!! He waits for DarkKnightmon to come to that world? lolwut? Why? How and why would be go there (assuming he was turned into digiegg before)? How did Bugramon get there in the first place? IT MAKES NO SENSE!!
I seriously hoped at least the last 2 episodes would kick ass since everything before them sucked but IMO, this episode was seriously worst so far. Nearly none of the things that happened made no sense and all that thing with Tagiru destroying Quartzmon felt extremely forced. And we never learnt why Quartzmon wanted several copies of himself, while he could do evrything from shadows and no one would know. Not to mention that the Quartzmon explaining how he controled Ryouma felt just... dumb. Yeah, he would totally bother with it because they have to be friends before he eats them... makes sense.
I hope here will be another Digimon season BUT it will have NOTHING to do with this one. I loved Xros Wars, both first 2 seasons but this was just pile of rubbish put together making no sense at all that the creators tried to arrange to look cool and put Tagiru on top just because Taiki was already used before and if they copied anyone's personality from the other seasons it would stand out.
Don't get me started at character development.
The ending was meh....didnt really like Taigiru as the main chara ohhh well i hope there a new series in the future probably next year some time? but it does feel like this might be the last season since they introduced out character as part of the plot.... There wasn't that much main story this arc more hunting than anything hopefully next Digimon series will be awesome if there ever is one!
Now, I'm having problems believing some of the conclutions you can take from this episode. For instance, this means Arrestardramon Superior Mode xros Brave Snatcher is stronger than all the other heroes' digimon?? I'm just thinking this because, let me see:
Omegamon/Omnimon is the fusion of 2 'Mega' digimons,
Imperialdramon is a fusion of two Mega and in Fighter Mode
Gallantmon is a Mega Matrix Evolution in Crimson Mode fussioned with GRANI,
Susanoomon is the fusion of all the legenday digimon spirits,
(I have Savers on hold, sorry ^^'),
Shoutmon x7 is the Xros of all Xros-Heart (and superior mode with all the data of the Digiworld).
And I have to believe that a digimon that has 1 digivolution, 1 mode change and 1 xros is better than all this awesomeness?, I mean, c'mon!
Other than that, I loved how the tittle fits perfectly with the fact that is a reunion of all characters of all times and they travelled there 'through time', however, leaving the whole plot to the final 3 or 4 episodes, I think is crappy and a waste of 22 or 21 episodes.
The Brave Snatcher weapon was a lot sillier than I thought it would be.
I never did like the whole idea of "hunting"; it just made it seem like a big fucking game. Tagiru was lame and none of the hunters were prominent enough for me to remember. This is definitely on the level of Savers, and that's not a good thing.
Bagraman was a sudden surprise though.

Come on, Omegashoutmon and Taiki alone proved to be far stronger than quartzmon physically.. Ryouma broke the first bravesnatcher on taiki and OmegaShoutmon, and they didn't even loose consciousness or any blood. Quartzmon, it was cutting through like butter... Do you see how bad a power leveling that puts on Taigiru?.. he has issues fighting against an enemy that he can cut like butter.. Taiki wouldn't even need X7 to defeat quartzmon given this load of fail we where given here..
Also, they as good as said that X7 Superior Mode was better than Quartzmon by the fact that Quartzmon was the one preventing digixros' from working with large number of digimon.. hes built off baguramon battle leftovers, so its actually quite logical for him to be afraid of X7 Superior Mode.
I still think that the last episode is still nice, despite the plot twist....
神様はその独り子を賜ったほどに この世を愛してくださった。 それは御子を信じる者が一人も滅びないで 永遠の命を得るためである。
kamisama wa sono hitori no ko wo tamawatta hodo ni kono yo wo aishite kudasatta. sore wa miko wo shinjiru mono ga hitori mo horobinai de eien no inochi wo eru tame dearu.
For God so love the world that he gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.
wow this season was just down right terrible. Nothing happens till 4-5 episodes from the end and then they forcibly make takiru be the only 1 able to deal with the situation :/. Not to mention tht plot twist makes absolutely no sense

Yeah, I know that since the Xros Wars began the leveling is not an issue, since you manage* to beat your enemies with strategy and xrosing... however I don't know, you are quite right in what you say, I think they should've put a little bit more of a challenge, it's no good when they can defeat the main villain just 20 minutes later they've found out his existance... DAME!! DAME!!
Well thank god this ended. This whole sequel was just a sad cash in on the success of the first Xros Wars.
I was just hoping for a lot more from this series when it was announced. The ending in this one wasn't really all that great especially in comparison to the first season.
Just finshed watching and I'm going to rate this a 5/10. Although it had its fun moments and some of the later episodes were strong that bought nostologia, the development and characterization of some of the characters were just too lackluster.
I have to rate the series 4/10. If you are going to make a season calling on all the heroes of the past, lumping all that into 3 episodes and making the rest filler is not the way to go. So so so so so much wasted potential, the season was a rip off of what it could have been.
Easily the worst of all the digimon series unfortunately, which is sad to me. Bland enemies, bland filler, bland plot, somewhat bland new characters, epic ending fight but bland way of adding all of the past seasons.
I don't know about you guys, I thought of this for a long time, but why should Baguramon be the only one allowed to reborn and chance of redemption.
In my head canon, after the old clock store man saw Taiki and warned him about the still loose digimon, after he returned home and there he has three young digimon has his helpers or assistants. They welcome him home and ask is there anything they can do for him, he tells them no and tells them they can go out and play.
Two male, one female. One of the males is defentely the oldest, the female is the second oldest or middle one, and the other male is the youngest. I think you all know who I am referring to. I think it would be cute seeing them reborn as cute little kids playing together. Like what happened in Fronter when those digimon gods got to be reborn.
The old man was Bagramon, lol, that was unexpected.
The power of the goggles was strong.
In the end only one true human character in all digimon seasons, Daimon Masaru can punch a digimon, and he doesn't need any goggles.
Before anything, I want to say I'm glad Zenjirou and Akari finally, finally, got X-Loaders. I can't believe this season managed to do what the previous could not. I was wrong when I said they were completely useless in this one, they were only mostly useless. So, that's a point in its favor.
Animation was varied as usual: wasn't any worse or better. They seemed to know when to use which animators for what episode most of the time.
I also liked the designs of a bunch of the new digimon: Jokermon and Pillomon, specifically.
Too bad it practically fails on every other aspect.
If Xros Wars was basically an inferior Adventure with other elements from past Digimon seasons, this season is an inferior Adventure 02 that tries to be a grand crossover. Considering how bad and a mess 02 was, WHO thought it was a good idea to takes ANY notes from that? Almost everything in this season is basically concepts and storytelling notes lifted directly from 02:
- the ability to enter and leave the Digimon World at will
- restricted evolutions due to prior events requiring new "heroes" (aka hunters), leading to nerfing of the senpais
- the passing of the googles
- how the senpai cast did very little
- a "rival" who was evil but not really as the Big Bad was possessing him the whole time!
- filler episodes that focus on the "fun" aspect rather than the adventure
- multiple "chosen children" (aka hunters) beyond the main group (I think Kiriha even suggested ones overseas?)
- Vamdemon
- Ryouma's backstory
And probably more I can't think of. While a few of these concepts may have appeared in other seasons (my Tamers knowledge is weak) there was tended to be a twist to them - here it's practically following the book. None of it was done well or any good in 02 and Xros Wars Shounen Hunter-tachi is no different. To make it worse, the problems from Xros Wars continue on here.
At least, there was no shitty epilogue, so a point over 02 there.
Almost all of the characters sucked; they were either bland, one-note, or strictly depended on the writers' mood. The newbies had traits, yes, but they never evolved past them nor did the writing make use of those traits in an entertaining way. Best example was Airu but beyond her 2 eps, she got scrapped into comedy relief after being outdone by Yuu in traps. ...The guy who could only do anything smart when the writers got tired of giving Tagiru handjobs and glory. (And Yuu was obviously supposed to be the Hikari/Takeru role of the group and ended up with only 3(?) captures and whining the rest of time. Sugeeee...) That said, I both hated and liked Taiki's writing here. Mostly due to the sense of maturity and intellect he had under the right writer was interesting; it was criminally underused for heaven forbid HE get any attention. (I'm starting to think that SuperStarmon episode was done because they had to...) Even then they ruined him by nerfing him so hard he was all but useless 99% of the time AND he got owned out of the final battle! Hahahaha!
Nene and Kiriha hardly existed (can't cut into that Tagiru time!) so they're whatever. (Ahh, feeling that group friendship of Xros Hearts? Yeah, me either.) Ryouma wasn't annoying he also didn't amount to much other being a bland "rich" kid; he didn't seem to have much a purpose, strength, or weakness beyond being possessed. At least Ren knew digimon like a collector would (and that's all he amounted to being too.)
Oh! Gotta throw shade on the Old Man! "That's why I didn't want you be a Hunter. You'd upset the balance because you're the sixth hero." Except he didn't do anything for most of show; he didn't even capture ONE digimon! Get off it Old Man! LOL
Tagiru and Gumdramon were the worst, though, felt like self-inserts who had the writers doing everything to make them better than everyone else (esp Taiki and Shoutmon) despite hardly earning it. Just spouts off something about friendship or some other speech and got powered up. Got a deus ex machina simply for being a renegade. Got to somehow digixros with an item to defeat the final boss. Got an OP mode because "friendship!" and little hassle (that gets used all of twice, wow.)
A big flaw of this season is no teamwork. A lot of digimon could have easily been dealt with if the characters helped out rather than them taking turns or standing there doing nothing. Sure it pops up but until Fanservice happens it's mostly for the delivering blow and the final battle doesn't even bother. Interesting to note, though, that every Yuu episode is a teamwork episode...
Next would be the plot... all 5 episodes of it, 20 episodes are MotW. Amazing. Anyways, the plot is nothing but pure fanservice and even then they half-assed it. Just one episode to show off the crossover (which wasn't even that good) and back to Tagiru! The heroes were sorta... there and useless after their big debut since they didn't really DO anything but lend their power... The past heroes didn't get their own evolution sequences. Why couldn't the other characters do that instead? Why have all these characters, bother to have them even show up, and proceed to do nothing with them? Nope, gotta have dimension travel! So, so dumb. As for Quartzmon, he's dumb too. The Old Man's explanation conveniently didn't explain the whys, really. Just how it happened and here's what to do. He's a bland villain with boring motives; only there so the "epic" finale could exist. The insert song, Legend Xros Heroes(?), one that played once all heroes gathered, wasn't good either. I honestly couldn't stand listening to it.
Both plot twists were lame too for there was no reasoning behind it (Bugramon) nor clues for the audience to figure it out (Astamon -> Quartzmon).
The fighting hit or miss; nothing really stood out in that department beyond X7 and the okonomiyaki episode.
Which leads to the real question: What was the point of making this season? It does nothing, accomplishes nothing, amounts to nothing but half-assed fanservice.
Frankly, this didn't need to be a sequel. I have no idea why they thought that was a good idea because the plot that was there didn't need Xros Wars' evolution style, lore, nor characters to function. If they wanted a grand or ultimate crossover, it should have been its own season where the entire point is to build on and execute the crossover not simply tack it on to their fanfic. It didn't need to be a TV series either for the plot was only 5 episodes: that's about movie length. Considering Xros Wars never got a movie, I think we got rip-off by getting this instead.
tl;dr It's bad, sucked, and didn't need to exist. Quite like 02, only shorter and without any talented writers peeking in temporarily. But, it is not anger-inducing... unless you loved Xros Wars.
