Inb4 more tissue boxes.

Any thoughts? I wonder how much this will deviate from the anime's storyline, or if it'll be something totally different.

Thoughts people?

Well the starting premise seems to be the same as the anime (judging from the synopsis, although I'm not sure if that is reliable)

I wonder if they plan on ending it differently though, could turn out be interesting.

Yeah, or maybe they're just looking to make some easy money from teary eyed watchers of the manga by releasing the exact same thing in manga form

Lol really?
Man..they weren't even manly tears at some point. I just weeping like a little girl.
I wonder if a manga will have the same feel.

They do the same thing for anime all the time. Releasing the same thing in anime form and people are generally happy about it..I kinda hate it though, since it's exactly the same thing lol

I don't really keep in touch with manga much but isn't it quite uncommon for a manga to be adapted from an anime rather than the other way around? It gives them a lot of room to play with it in my opinion since they can probably afford to spend more time on character development...

@Kazu: I guess they do release pretty much the same thing when adapting a lot of manga into anime but the soundtracks, seiyuu's and animation sure help add a whole new dimension to it which is why I prefer anime over manga.

@Ratekkusu: Yeah... as much as I enjoyed the story of Anohana I really hope they add something to make the manga stand out a bit >_<

As an added note, I'm going to miss that ending song! (Secret Base Kimi ga Kureta Mono, now that's some classy music)

Well, soundtracks, seiyuu's and animation, in the end are all extras. You can get the same core entertainment from all the mediums. Visual Novels, Anime, Manga, Light Novels. So when an adaptation is released that has no original content (While it might be great for someone new to the series) it might be a little bland to the original fans.
But then again, if you read the manga first, it's always kind of cool to see the characters moving and chatting when they get an anime. Lol.
I just hope there's some original content, nothing huge that it ends up changing the series, just enough to keep me entertained. It hasnt been that long since the anime aired after all.

If anything, the manga will probably adopt a deeper exploration to the story of the other characters.
Manga > Anime adaptations are frequent but Anime > Manga generally imply a great fanbase and they won't do something so economically risky as to simply translate it exactly onto a page.

/downloads OST. Gets Secret Base ready to play.

Without the background music, I'd probably say it'll has less impact on me, though adding the fact that I've already seen the series as well.

Hopefully I can remember to check up on releases because I don't usually check for updates on Manga.

But if they don't, isn't there always the risk of there being a back lash where the fans will complain that the adaptation isn't loyal to the original content?
Meh..there's no satisfying everyone.

There's a big difference between reading manga and watching an anime. But I hope they add a bit of character information and exposure to others especially Anaru.

When I read Skip Beat!, I downloaded the themes and play them all along while reading the manga. It reminds me how will the character react and it give some emotions ahahaha.

I have been waiting for an AnoHana manga to come out for so long... It felt weird not being able to purchase a manga for my favorite anime.
