I drop an anime if it's so boring to the point where I dread having to watch the next episode. Or if it's been on hold for a while and I have plan on continuing it. I try not to drop that many animes though. |

I don't like dropping anime, because like it's been said, many anime get better towards the end (though some get worse). Usually I drop it for a mix of reasons, but the most prominent reason for me is characters. If I like characters, they can usually carry me through terrible plots or animation or all that because I care about what happens to them. But if an anime has a bunch of flaws, AND unlikable characters? That's when I drop it. I try not to drop anime though. |

Yes and mostly all of the above, mainly for being cliche and not having a good story. Wanking the main character either makes me rate the series 1/10 or drop it. :( ![]() |

I drop shows because of various reasons, but usually it's 2 things, - I get bored when watching - Time Some shows just seem to get a chore when watching, that is the point where i decide to drop it. Or at time (since i'm still a student) i have way too much work to do, and i keep my attention on the shows i like most (and the other ones go on-hold or dropped). |

I don't see the point in watching something you don't like. If an anime disappoints me in any possible way, then I drop it. I'm pretty picky and I don't like watching mediocre anime. <img src="http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa347/CieruHive/tumblr.gif"> <img src="http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa347/CieruHive/livejournal.gif"> <img src="http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa347/CieruHive/facebook.gif"> <img src="http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa347/CieruHive/formspring.gif"> <img src="http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa347/CieruHive/PixelButton.gif" /> |

I don't hesitate to drop an anime if it's still horrible past episode 5-8 unless someone claims that it definitely gets better later on. However, good producers shouldn't be making us wait for such a long time to get good. Even if it starts off good but then repeats the same patterns, it wastes my time. Tsubasa Chronicles for example was a total waste of time and electricity from my computer. Cute, but same stuff every episode. <img src="http://i44.tinypic.com/3482g77.jpg" /> |

I make it a point not to drop any anime I start watching. My rule is if I've seen all of the first episode, I'm in it for the long haul. It just feels like an obligation, really. However, I've never had to force myself through an anime. There were only a few anime I dropped, usually due to spoilers, but I picked all of them up again eventually and finished them. The ones like that I can remember are Cowboy Bebop, Kimi ni Todoke, Ouran High School Host Club, and Clannad. Ironically, most of these end up being among my favorites. |

Well, the counter-question is asked here by me: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=408439 Dropping a show because it's bad/boring is probably as common sensical as you're going to get, but there's more variation in why people continue to watch garbage. |

Not sure if this has been done before, but yeah! Title says it all. "I hate nice girls. If they so much as say hello, it stays on my mind. If they return my texts, my heart races. The day one calls me, I know I'll look at my call history and grin. But I know that's just them being nice. People who are nice to me are also nice to everyone else. I almost end up forgetting that... Someone who's worked hard at being alone doesn't fall for the same trick twice. I'm a veteran at this, I'm the best there is when it comes to losing. That's why I'll always .. Hate nice girls." - Hikki-Kun Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. |

Frustration, unpleasantness, or if I get that gut feeling that it's gonna suck after the first 1 or 2 episodes in. |

i dropped cowboy bebop once, but reviews of this anime is really high, and so i'm watching it again right now. i also dropped bleach because its too long and gets boring for me. i don't like any anime that's more than 60 episode long, unless its incredibly entertaining and with no fillers. ![]() |

I dunno. I can watch a shitty story if the characters are good enough(like Bakemonogatari) Same thing in reverse. Elfen Lied has a good story, but holy shit are the characters terrible. Still enjoyed it though. But I will drop anime if it's bad enough. Not worth sitting through a pile of shit when I could be searching for something better. |
