Lack of a second season(or any subsequent continuation) = "Impassionate Gods" indeed.

as one of those who helped YuruYuri to get second season in one possible way: buying it
I find this thread a bit weird... you want it to get second season, help in it.
How else they would do it? By reading some forum :D come on... they are sometimes dumb but there are limits to it.

you know all the people dont have the resources or the money to buy expensive stuff but still want to watch good things that are around. I think the internet with free stuff all around helps for them in some manner.
Plus this thread was opened just to know what the predictions of the people here are. People here have been watching anime since many years (atleast from what i have seen they have watched more than i have) So I dont get what's weird in asking?

there is nothing weird in asking - I was simply refering to that quote
YuruYuri sold well, this one not.
YY will get second season, this will not - unless they are doing to boost manga sales than maybe.
and no saying that this was amazing series will change this - BTW and I admit it was nice if you cut parts with Arata.

You know, the whole "no money" thing doesn't really change anything. Unless people buy the volumes (both DVD and manga), the producers won't see any value in investing in a second season. If you truly want a second season, the answer is to support the series financially and show the people in charge that there is demand.

Ayase Chihaya is the moe-st character of these two seasons. It's just unorthodox.

Uh, and Misaki Mei.

Sadly, I don't think it will. I agree with everyone here who is frustrated with silly series that get at least 2+ seasons and something sweet and charming like Chihayafuru doesn't.

I totally agree. Haha, the Japanese really are a bunch of retards and virgins. Maybe a bit rough there, but what the hell... Silly stuff like the things mentioned above are the things that sells the most, sadly. xD

More good, serious stuff, please.

I agree with ya'll but the thing is unless there is an announcement, we won't know for sure.

Just read the manga lol.

The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

Considering how the Japanese were the ones who produced Chihayafuru, it's quite rude and inconsiderate of you to insult them by calling them all "retards and virgins." By saying that, you're also insulting Yuki Suetsugu herself.

Well, I really don't think that those who aren't bying the manga or the DVDs have any right to complain. I'm one of the ones who are penniles, I don't have enough money to buy myself a lollipop, what to talk about a DVD, but a good chunk of non-Japanese Chihayafuru watchers DO have money, they are just too stingy to spend it :/

So, yeah... I don't think we have the right to complain. Those who have bought the DVDs can, but everybody else...

Don't even compare these two series, that's an insult to Chihayafuru.

How much would you pay for a second season? Maybe if enough people gather and make a kickstarter for it, they will consider a second season. I know it sounds impossible but I just want to know your answers. For an example I would be willing to pay 250 dollars if i knew that is the only way to get chihayafuru until the very end but thats me and thats not much for me if im gonna get a 25+ more episodes.

If we assume one episode costs around 130.000 dollars than they would probably want a kickstarter as much as 4-5 episodes worth. That is clearly impossible and people wouldnt give it without any physical return ^^.

I seriously hope that there will be a season 2. I mean, c'mon, i really like this anime alot! And it seriously sucks if Chihaya did not become the queen. I really want to see the improved version of Chihaya. OHOH, and i definitely want to see taichi and arata competing for the master position!

I call your 250 dollars and raise another 250.

I really wonder what is needed to persuade the makers into making a second season. I'm not much of a (manga) reader and I don't really buy stuff like anime/movies/tvseries, because I am not interested in having a box with a bunch of CD-roms and whatnot. I tend to watch shows only once and especially don't care for the shipping costs, marketing and tax, etc.

Will be a shame if this series will not have a second season!

I mean, removing the sales part and other things, this series has had great success with the public overall, at least in Occident, and in Japan the manga sales has reached the top place!

95% of the people here have enjoyed Chihayafuru. Well I can say not bad for a Josei anime.

I liked it, but it just can't live without a second season. There would be just so much left unfinished and even in the last episode they introduced a new character (The current Master). Of course there will always be the manga to continue the story, but a lot of people just watch anime (even though I'm not one of them)and would miss a lot, because there is no real satisfying conclusion.

I don't mind having a second season on this series as long as Shinobu gets back to her normal looks, i mean she's scary the way she looks now! :D

Sooo excited!! I never thought this would get a second season even though it is one of the best anime I've seen and totally deserves another season. Glad that we aren't going to be left hanging!! ^_^

I had been quite confident that Chihayafuru would be returning for a 2nd season. My reasoning? From what I had heard, the main goal of the committee that made this anime was to increase manga sales. If you look at the first week of release totals for the past few volumes of Chihayafuru, you will see that the sales figures increased by around 10% over the prior volume for each. These are volumes that came out after the anime started. That looks like the type of increase in sales they were looking for, hence a second season is in the offing. (One of those volumes was actually the top selling manga in Japan for its first week of issue. However, it was a slow release week, with none of the "big guys" coming out that week.)

So question... If season 2 is coming out, was the first 25 episodes really just season 1? And does that mean another freaking 25 eps? :D
