I think Soul Link could be added to the GAR-achievement, because of Gale Lantis. And for the manga-achievements: How about using the achievements for both, manga and anime, like "watched 15 *enter genre* anime OR read 15 *enter genre* manga" with an option to switch between the listed manga and anime? There wouldn't be two achievemts of the same kind (genre) like this and it would benefit people who only read manga/watch anime. Oh, by the way: Great job on doing this graph and i really love the achievements^^ Hope for more to come~ |

Can you add an option to not include dropped shows when calculating score distribution and episode count? There's no significant difference between watching a first episode and immediately dropping a show and rating it lowly, versus not watching or rating the show at all because it would clearly be low-rated. |

First of all thanks for this feature, I totally love it o.o I was wondering however, is it possible to make a "Mean Score by studio" category? oThat wuld be nice to see my individual scores for different studios. Maybe it was suggested before, I haven't read the whole topic. :/ |

Oh I see now, thanks for clarifying that. And it seems the bolder ones are based on the number of anime you have watched. Nice! :D |

One interesting feature to have would be "Mean title length" (in episodes), somewhere in the episode count chart. |

Um wouldn't it be better to keep MALgraph simple and neat ? I think it should be clear and have only most important info instead of packing it with unnecessary . |

Would be damn awesome to have a "masochist" achievement for having watched low rated anime a certain amount of time. If something has a MAL score below 7.0 then it's usually considered pretty bad so that might be a good number. |

We already have a graph that counts the number of shows we wached/read for each length group. How about a new graph that display the mean score for each show length group? |

Missing mecha series include Blue Gender (and the movie), Armor Hunter Mellowlink, Martian Successor Nadesico (and the movie), Overman King Gainer, lots of Transformers stuff, all the Mazinkaiser stuff, the Super Robot Taisen franchise, Gun x Sword (odd since you did include that one in GAR), Gaiking, and Big O. Missing GAR stuff include Otokojuku (and the movie), Gungrave, The Legend of Koizumi, MD Geist 1 and 2, and Riding Bean, G Gundam, the Captain Harlock series, and Afro Samurai: Resurrection, though I guess GAR is more subjective than mecha. |

I have an idea, you know how we see how the scores break down? How about we also have a way of telling how many of those 8/10's for example were movies, OVA's, specials, TV series, etc.? I already try counting that stuff myself, but MALGraph would make it cleaner, and easier. |

Adding such data to the tooltip of the score distribution is impossible (we would add percentages if it was possible). We could make a separate, stacking bar chart (e.g. a bar that's 200px in length would be divided into a few parts: 100px long "tv", 50px "movies", 40px "ova" and 10px "specials" bar), but I don't really like this idea, and it wouldn't be too clean and easy to read. I thought about a separate graph for movie/ova/tv/special distribution (probably a pie chart) - this one will probably appear in the future. |

i like to request a feature about quantifying in percentage a users anime otakuness type 2 types of anime otaku - http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2010/01/16/the-two-types-of-anime-otaku/ categorize the users anime list base on either Type A or Type B, then the percentage computation could be base on the scoring statistics of a user on the categorize Type A or Type B list i hope you understand what im saying, i can hardly describe what i have in mind too lol, and if their are improvements to what im suggesting i hope that person can suggest it here too |

I think that would be a bit unreasonable. I'm pretty sure that would mean fri and/or chrupky going through every title in the database and defining each one as either Type A or Type B. |

im thinking of just categorizing Type A and Type B according to the Genre of the anime Type A can be genre of - action, fantasy, psychological, sci-fi, supernatural, thriller, space, seinen, etc Type B can be genre of - romance, slice of life, school, comedy, music, shoujo, etc each anime has a lot of genre and if for example an anime has genre - action/fantasy/comedy then that anime is more of Type A |

While there are a few that would genuinely qualify - Cat Soup (listed twice) is probably the most well-known - most have a slight touch of surrealism at best, and some I wouldn't put into that category even by loosest definition - Kino no Tabi? Surreal? Are you kidding? By the way, did noone suggest a Sports achievement? This one would be pretty big and definitive. And on a more humorous note, I demand a separate "Take me to Koshien!" achievement for baseball. We could fill it up with Adachi-damn-Mitsuru alone. |

Maybe anime about professional sportsmen , since there is many shows which contain sport content yet they are not very important especially there is a lot of anime with track and field along school life and stuff which would make it a little too easy to get and "achievements" should be given for something unusual or hard to achieve . Just my humble opinion . |

Surreal? Are you kidding? Sae brought up some worthy objections, particularly about what is and is not part of a "surreal" genre. But these criticisms could leveled against many genre's in anime. Is Shakugan no Shana a magical girl show? Furthermore the genre "Slice of Life" is notorious for defying definition. Yet these have been incorporated into the achievements. I believe that the items listed are all sufficiently in the genre, albeit with a significant gray area. Also, thanks for calling my double post of Cat Soup to my attention. Further entries for the genre could conceivable be obtained from the MAL genre "psychological". Sae said: By the way, did noone suggest a Sports achievement? Would love to see a smartphone app for this eventually considering the Pocket-MAL app is no longer being updated. Other than that, I have no complaints with what's already there except additional achievements and maybe fixing the 24 hour refresh issue. I'd like to see that be added in somehow. It shows which episode you're rewatching (<my_rewatching>, <my_rewatching_ep>), but it doesn't count complete rewatches. We can't count it unless MAL adds it to malappinfo. Hota-chan said: Sure, if you can find a bunch of them then why not. Please post a list of links instead of titles only - that simplifies things a lot. At least 50 are required, but more than 100 are recommended, so we can make four achievement levels for them (we have 110+ titles per genre now). So, I was thinking, why not have an achivement to historical animes? Hota-chan said: Indeed, it would be easier. They're sorted by ID now (if the for-loop can be called sorting) and sorting them alphabetically would need a few more lines of code. So... maybe. And, btw, in the achievements, when you list the animes, wouldn't it be easier to read if they came alphabetically? I have a few projects due this month and exams soon after those, so I won't really have any time to work on MALgraph in the near future. chrupky doesn't seem interested now too. Sorry. :( But, keep posting suggestions, they're always welcome! |

So I was watching second season of Strike Witches (shame on me, sure) and thought: Hmm, what about an "Ace Pilot" achievement for aircraft (loosely)-themed animes? It would be quite some trouble to get enough titles together, but probably we could scratch up at least fifty. And now that I think about it, seeing Riding Bean being mentioned above, a similar car-themed one could be made too. Hota-chan: This list is in dire lack of some Gundou Musashi. |
