They softnened you up with Akazawa fanservice and chopped you up motorboat style at the end.
“If it were a third-rate TV anime, a dead protagonist can come back to life at the producers’ convenience. But the world we live in is not such a convenient place. Lost lives will never return. Because of it, we live in a world where a life is an irreplaceable existence.”
wasnt so impressed with this ep. it was kinda boring and only somewhat exciting at the end. the misaki fanservice was nice tho ^^

lmao. guy swims out to grab a ball, the music to queue the death scene starts playing. he gets run over, blood streaming thru the sea and they even throw in a severed hand and u comment on how nice the boat looks. i like ur style ;D
Unfortunately I had already read a spoiler about someone dying because of swimming to far to get an inflatable object, but I didn't expect it to turn out like this. This has been maybe even the creepiest death yet. I'm thinking this was just 'coincidence' and didn't have to do anything with the curse.
Still weird there's even not a mention about the funerals, except for the ones from 15 years ago as that guy said.
Next ep the mysterious mansion, and zombie-Yukari?!

This has got to be one of the most gloomy beach scene I've seen. The music playing just didn't match them having fun and you just know something bad was bound to happen. Ouch... he just got ripped apart.
Well even if the mood wasn't great I still laughed a few times, mostly thanks to Izumi. Izumi in a swimsuit, I like it. She's my favorite character now that she has lighten up so much and always thought she looked great.
Preview - what the hell, is that girl who died from the umbrella back!?? Hmm a tape record, wonder if thats the hint the guy left behind.
It's good how the beach episode avoided becoming a blatant, total fanservice fest. It's also not so bad to see the characters enjoying themselves once in a while. Everything was surprisingly smooth sailing... until someone died horribly at the end.
So much for that short psychological breather for them, it seems there may be no safe place anymore. The character who just died was also someone I've never really noticed before this episode.
Anyways, I really enjoyed this episode. It was very peaceful excluding the ending. Didn't even know who the dude was so it wasn't too bad! Knew the instant the ball landed in the water something bad was going to happen though.
Dam i thought they would be safe after they left the town but in the end someone still died. Still the ball went REALLY deep personally i dont think he should have gone and take it . Also do they not have those float things that block the sea so you do not swim so deep and ships cannot come inside there? Maybe its just my country but that is really dangerous. Ouch... poor guy
I like how they play with our nerves. It makes you think at the second the wind blows on the beach and sends the baloon in the sea that someone is gonna die.
Then, it seems it was just a joke/false alert... Especially since they aren't suppose to die outside the city. But wait, he dies anyway. Lol
Good episode nonetheless, it was quite refreshing.
Misaki Mei was so cute in this episode. I was totally focused on her. Of course, the beach ball flying towards the sea was an obvious death scene in-the-making. And I agree with the others, I don't even know the name of the person who died, but I knew him by face.
Anyways, the preview was awesome. The title was win. And i didn't notice Yukari in the preview, but I hope she does make an appearance. XD
Okay, am I the only one who was HORRIBLY disturbed by the deaths in this and the last episode? How can you people be so calm? It was sickening.. I don't know how they can just seem to forget about it in a day.
That aside, Mei AND Yuuya were both adorable in this episode. I ship Kouichi x Yuuya most, I think.
I skipped almost the entire episode simply because I didn't care about the fan service and that mini romance between Kouichi and Misaki. This is supposed to be horror/thriller, not some romantic story... Last 2 minutes were great because THAT'S WHAT I WANT FROM THIS. And next episode looks cool.
Oh man that truck passing by was so intense. I was tightly gripping the armrests of my computer chair. Will it blow up? Will a tire pop off and fly into their car? I was on the edge of my seat. Then the rest of the episode I was like OH SHIT MAN DON'T. oh ok its nothing. They're outside the city so its ok right? I suddenly started to relax and began to enjoy the episode as a typical beach episode. Then that ominous wind and the beach ball flying out to sea. I have it paused there right now because I don't think I can handle this shit anymore man. My heart can't take anymore. I guess writing my thoughts down here are helping me, giving me a breather and a chance to calm down. So now I'm going to finish the episode and see you on the next episode discussion. Time to suck it up.
Why the hell would he chase after the ball? It was already carried by the waves.
"And if, there were so many people in the world, there had to be someone living an interesting life that wasn't ordinary. I was sure of it. Why wasn't that person me?"
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Part V
I knew someone was going to die given the foreshadowing: They're going to a beach and also that subtle hint of the sugar cube slowly drowning in coffee and separating into bits. Still, it was pretty gruesome. 5/5 love this show.
One thing to take into account from this episode was that Chibiki was wrong, death centres around where the Another is, not around Yomiyama - so the Another must have been on this trip.
