This show is very plot heavy, there are many characters all of which have their own personalities and uniqueness, and the artistic value is great too. So...nothing at all happened to those things except that they stayed consistently great throughout the entire series so far? What part of this is such "Pure Fanservice" that its "an atrocity"? Everything is being adapted from VN source material, the only thing you could argue is "pure fanservice" is how the movie is going to be a brand new story and that the 5 (now 6) part OVA is just a fun side story (which is why its an optional OVA in the first place). | I'm personally damn happy about this :) I expected Reimeiroku to be animated, but not this quick! To those who don't know, this is pre-Chizuru & thus a prequel. Of course they're gonna make the Kazama OVA...I mean, how could they not xD I do, however, wonder what the movies will be about though. alternate routes? recaps? |

| While I'm happy Hakuouki is getting a 3rd season, I can't say the same about the 2 movies coming out next year. They say all new story, but that doesn't tell me anything. |
| I dunno if there is anyone who is gonna read this seeing that it's on the 4th page but I think what they are trying to accomplish is to make series/animations for each of the game's path. If you play the game - you'll know what I mean. As for the movie - I dunno what to say about that... |

| Wow. Why do a lot of people hate Hakuouki? It's actually pretty good. Though I do understand why males wouldn't want this, well since this is an adaptation of an "otome" game. I'm excited for the Reimeiroku. At least this'll give us idea about pre-shinsengumi days. |

| I barely finished the first series... even with all the eye candies it was SO boring and the girl so annoying.. ugh. Why don't they invest in something better.. there are a lot of good manga that still haven't been animated :/ |

| @phoenixalia: We're not bashing it for being an otome game (when did anyone ever say that?). We're bashing it because we all know DEEN is gonna cook up something shitty. They KNOW otome game material sells, which is why they're continuing the series. At the same time, though, their adaptations are pretty abysmal; boring would be a pretty good word for their works. Hell, I'm a girl, and I've played otome stuff before and was OK with it, but man are their otome VN adaptations boring as fuck. I may not be speaking for all the people who dislike DEEN's adaptations, but I seriously think that's why people find their stuff so unenjoyable. That and mediocre production values and lack of creativity on their part. |

I love bishies and BL and while I don't prefer super ecchi and yuri animes, I am mature enough not to bash them because people have different tastes. |

| Wow. This is quite a surprise. I just picked up the game a bit ago and though I wasn't a big fan of the route they decided to go with for the anime (especially finding that all the other route endings were so much more satisfying for me personally). I couldn't help but fall in love with all the characters again and wouldn't mind seeing them again in another season. @CarmillaPL: I think in the anime(/Toshi's in-game route--which is what the anime is based off of the most) Saito is hinted to have died when he stayed behind to 'stall the enemy'. In the game, we never hear about Shinpachi again after he left.....so it's unknown what his fate is....I don't remember if it was different in the anime for him though... |

| Actually, if you would care about history and dig a little you would all see how close this anime is to reality... in EVERY freaking detail, from Harada's scar to the left hand of Saitou, to the way they died... it is a heck of a fabulous anime adaptation for both the game and the historical facts. Not to mention the characters... as deep and complex as it can get considering they were real people who accomplished some hell lot of things. OFC, the fact that everything was, except the vampire/demon stuff, was real, combined with the extremely good boshie looks would kill any girl but I don't see how that is in any way a bad thing. It is a great show, it is worth watching even only for the historical references I am sooo looking forward to watching this and I hope we will get more of Hakuouki in the future. |
