I'm disappointed, I had hoped Hakim would go out with a thunderous "ALLAHU AKHBAR" when the explosion got him.

This one episode brought the show from OMG AWESOME to OMG... what?!

There were some great moments, like the near death experience (though it could have used more fleshing out,) but some things were far too convenient and unbelievable. Claire and Tanabe both lived? Yeah, okay. Tanabe was the person who found Hachi? Sure, makes sense. A random passing shuttle picked them up? It all just seems too convenient so the main characters don't have to get their hands dirty. If Tanabe made the decision to not take Claire's air she would have and should have died. Basically every other decision in this series had consequences and now...?

I hope the last episode vindicates this weird and crappy ending somehow, though I don't see how, since every other episode but this one was amazing and it deserves a better ending.

I second that as well. I do like romantic endings but I've never felt it suitable for this series, mostly because the romance has been so awkward. Maybe when I was Hachi's age I might have done the same, chosen love instead of doing something only a few people on Earth have a chance to do. But their relationship is not unique. Tanabe is not unique. However, after seeing Hachi in the last few episodes, I'm thinking that he might not be psychologically strong and stable enough to take that challenge. Again it's surprising that nobody seems to be concerned about his odd behaviour. With such a project they can't afford to take chances that he will lose it in the middle of the trip. So maybe it's better that he settles for an ordinary life. Looks like they're trying to say that the dreams you chase aren't necessarily on the other side of the solar system, that you can reach the stars just by shagging that redhead from the office.

So they didn't have the balls to make either Tanabe or Hachi kill ppl... woah so unexpected. And just what the hell was Hachi so depressed about the whole episode? Nothing changed for him and suddenly hes all emo.
This anime had so much potential ;( I'm sad.

I think he got depressed because he actually did pull the trigger and was prepared to kill a man for some selfish reasons.. even if the gun wasn't loaded he didn't know that.

This was another great episode !! This anime gets better and better I'm really looking forward to the last episode!!

im assuming tanabe was really about to do it but just like hachi, plot armor kicked in and her oxygen went to 0 and got knocked out before she can actually do it.

Damn that was epic in the beginning a bit slower but on the ending fuck that was good! But the thing that happened to Tanabe is quite sad hopefully she makes a full recovery... and that all for helping a terrorist...

Lets see what the last episode has to offer us from this series!

Stake wonderful and full of feelings, the desire to know what happened haunts me. The narrative gradually reveals the facts and my anxiety fades though it hurt a little rest for the story of Tanabe and for the chance to Hakim! Stupendous designs, colors a little less, I can not wait to see the final that promises to be beautiful!

Yay!!! Tanabe is alive! And better yet A) she didn't kill Claire and B) it looks like she can make a full recovery. I kind of hope that Hachi actually stays with her and forsakes the Jupiter mission. That would be awesome.

When they said something like 'With Claire and Ai leaving us' I was afraid Tanabe had indeed died. Never really liked her, but somehow didn't want her to die in the end.

yea Hachi's reactions seems a bit underwhelming. I'm conflicted on this one lol. She's all like "Yea I just suffered O2 deprivation and my nerves are damaged. Hey I might be paralyzed <_<." Then Hachi is like Oh is that so >.>..... Wat. Come on would it kill a person to show a little bit of concern :c

I somehow feel cheated out of something more complex. I felt like it could've gone darker and more challenging. But at the same time, I'm glad it didn't. It gave me time to let everything sink. The thematic conclusion was predictable though. But I'm too tired to analyze it completely. Still a great show. Overall, I'm pleased it didn't try to push the envelope any further, 'cause I'm at the threshold of a mental breakdown.

Well, let's see how this will end.
Will they stay on earth and get married, or....
Why the hell does she keep on cutting her hair, though =_=

Hachimaki is one of the chosen feew to board the Von Braun to Jupiter. But lately he seems not in the mental condition to take place in that mission. He even has an accident while riding his bike.

He meets Tanabe who is disabled and using a wheelchair because of her escape-pod-adventure last episode.

So Hachimaki was willing to pull the trigger against Hakim. He even did. But there was no ammuniation so... He has murderous intent and seees himself as a killer but can't be considered one.
I have written my own Ecchi short story. It is called Nopan Mahou Shoujo!

i'm glad Ai didn't take Claire's oxygen, i really like her as a character but i feel so sorry for her. Hachi doesn't deserve her

That was a beautiful episode, visually and all. I still don't care about what's happening, but at least there's that. Especially that spiral of people and the scene between Hachi and Tanabe at the end. Very pretty.

Okay, so even though Hachimaki made up his mind, and really tried to kill Hakim, it didn't happen, but it was enough to drive him crazy, he was pretty much catatonic. He was also finally feeling alone like he wanted, only feeling, because he wasn't, his family was with him, and even those other people who see him as a friend even though he is insufferable were with him too. But talking about his family Kyutaro grew up a lot, he is certainly the handsome brother too. lol

But well, Hachimaki could've died in an accident, and realized that he had been a jerk, and now he is all fine again, just like magic! This feels so stupid that I can't even be mad. And it took a while, but it was nice to have a confirmation of what happened with Tanabe, and Claire, Tanabe remained true to herself, and put her life at risk before taking another's, I hope she can recover, there's only the end now.

It's kinda sad Hachi needed another near-death-experience to resolve his issues.
I hope he won't give up on Jupiter anyway. Ai and him are not cut out for each other.

Hachimaki tried to kill himself so many times now, this was just another one where he tried to die alone on the moon before he got rescued off, and it was just before he was supposed to go to Jupiter soon. At least after so long, he finally seems to genuinely making some progress for the better, as while he travelled back to Japan and after crashing his bike, ending up on the ocean and surviving, he finally realized what Tanabe meant a long time ago about love and how its connected to space.

Tanabe sadly is temporarily paralyzed after she and Claire were stuck on the moon for many hours and ran out of oxygen, suffering from asphyxiation with her nervous system breaking down a bit on her. Luckily its not permanent and there is a chance of full recovery with the right rehab but for now, she's stuck on a wheelchair. At least even she finally got to see Hachimaki smile and realize what she was trying to speak out to him, and finally got belief that her theory about love is valid and Hachimaki really did care for her. After the amount of near death experiences and psychological battles both had to undergo, there finally is some sort of progress pointing up.

Hachi was finally able to see the whole picture. The thing that's connecting everything together is love. And a dream is worth more if you can share the experience with others. I really, really like what they did here. There's also no good or evil here, just differenct perspectives due to different circumstances which complement each other. That Tanabe was stronger than a lucky Hachi whose gun didn't shoot, was a nice touch.

hachi going back to tanabe with his tail behind his legs, check.

SO the guy was on a some sort of highway cause he was going fast.
Then a half paralyzed woman that walked ALONE at NIGHT near a high speed road in a wheelchair saw a guy drowning.
And it was ofc her love interest that was almost drowning there.
The coincidence is way too big.

Wow what an episode.

  • Hoshino suffers from PTSD after failing to kill Hakim, although he DID pull the trigger. Good for him.
  • He's really lucky the explosion happened RIGHT then and he got shielded by a piece of metal, or he would have been dead. Lucky for him.
  • Maybe all the near death stuff messed with him so bad he basically almost flubbed a press conference and if that had happened he might have lost his spot.
  • His DAD had to bring him to earth for some R&R.
  • They stop by 7 and he visits the Debris Section only to find out Tanabe has resigned for "reasons"
  • At earth his brother is still a pain in the butt with the katsu stealing, but he's grown so huge now.
  • The man on impulse decides to go see Tanabe after realizing her "Will" was empty
  • He spaced out, crashed and landed in the sea, where he has a trippy near death experience
  • He survives and comes out to see Tanabe. She's in a wheelchair, suffering nerve damage. Aww damn.
  • Hoshino APOLOGIZES!! Whoa ..!!! Is it enough?

Frankly if he doesn't get his head screwed on right, he shoudln't be going to Jupiter.

The gun didn't fire, lmao. Of course.

Hachi's reunion with Tanabe is unconvincing. This is a man who spurns everyone around him for months or years if he gets so much as a single insecurity or pessimistic thought in his head, so why should the viewer believe this revelation of his is going to be the one that has any long term impact? Hachi has already had plenty of those, and they never lasted for longer than the duration of the scene, let alone an episode.
