| My only complaint would be it's too short to have any real impact. But then again, I don't see how they could have flesh out the story any further. Maybe it's for the best. Other than that, I like it. Gin is love ♥ |

| Nice little story. Loved the soundtrack and the feel of it. Was a bit of a shame that he touched the random little boy like that. Poor Gin. At least he got one hug. :( |

| Such a bittersweet movie. I really wished though that Hotaru was the one who caused his disappearance. ;w; And that kiss scene with the mask..... /cry I'm really having Natsume Yuujinchou feels right now. And I haven't cried so much like this for a while now. And yes, just like what some people say here, Gin is such an ikemen (his gentleness and staightforwardness reminds me of Natsume). I'd really like a sequel of this. |

| That was pretty great! I liked everything about it, aside from its predictability. They laid on the don't touch Gin thing so heavy at the beginning that you can't not know how it ends. Still I'm very glad they were able to hug. And it seemed as though this would be the last time they would see each other anyway? He did give up his mask. 7/10 . |

| This was a very nice short story. It was very predictable but that didn't stop me from liking that satisfying ending any less. On top of beautiful visuals and some great BGM, this was very enjoyable. Also liked how they showed Hotaru moving on at the end and not simply ending it right after the hug scene. |

| Everything about this was wonderful up until the ending. I know the source material was only a one-shot, but still would've liked for the movie to have been longer. Nice movie nonetheless. |

| My heart was in such pain almost from the start.. though I felt it would end somehow sad.. I had this urge to close it and not continue as the festival ended.. I wish I had :'( I wanted to see a cut-scene in the end.. Gin returning as human.. 9.9/10 |

| wow, i never thought a 40 minutes long anime would have this big impact on me. I think the ending was pretty good, rather than having Hotaru touching him and then disappear (too cliche), i'd prefer this kind of ending where both of them weren't expecting to be separated from each other so soon. Slightly reminded me of AnoHana btw. 8/10. ugh, the tears... |

| This was the anime movie that made me cry even it's short. I though Gin there was a mean person/spirit, but then the story goes on, I never thought that I would cry in this movie. |

| I really liked it, with the exception of one thing: Hotaru, at the beginning, doesn't sound like a girl of her age (7-9 years old?) when she's talking. This is not noticeable if you don't know Japanese that well, but the way she spoke it sounded like how a high schooler would talk. Her voice too, sounded older than what she was supposed to be as a kid. It's like the voice actress didn't make much of an effort to differentiate between the kid and high school versions. There's a difference yes, but there's not that much of one. It takes more than lowering the pitch of your voice. Of course this is most probably just me and a person who knows the language well can tell me I'm wrong, but it bothered me enough that I couldn't get immersed into the story. |

| I went in not expecting to cry off a 40 minute story. Wrong. It did make me cry with ease. It was beautiful. The story was very fluid and honestly was paced perfectly. The point it was trying to make was made and any more content would of been driving home the point we knew. It hit the climax right when it needed to and ended peacefully after. I see no reason not to award it a 10/10. 24th 10/10 out of 588 shows watched. Well deserved Hotarubi no Mori e |
| my tears haven't stopped until now.. ; ~ ; omg it was so beautiful! well I know this anime movie from my friend. yeah she said it's sad. so le watch it.. and yeah it was kinda sad in the last part. too bad I already read the spoiler, if me hadn't read i..I would be more sad than this.. man...so Gin has already known in the beginning if he won't be able to attend the next summer..? so..hr gave Hotaru the good bye kiss </3 Gin...you're so cool! and I love his mask~ Gin & Hotaru are a cute couple! | Well this turned out to be a pleasant surprise, I really wasn't sure what to expect with this. It was short but really knew how to make use of the time it had. The music and atmosphere were lovely and it felt a bit reminiscent to Mushishi. The interactions between Gin and Hotaru led to a nice mix of funny, cute, heartwarming, and ultimately bittersweet. That mask kiss was so sweet. I thought the way Gin vanished was so powerful, it literally happened without warning and with only moments left to live, the first thing he instantly thought of was that he could finally hold the person dearest to him. They valued their time together so much that there wasn't even a glimpse of hesitation in that hug and it really brought out how deep their bond was and all of the years they had to wait. It also goes to show just how sudden life can be and how you shouldn't take the time you have with your loved ones for granted. Either an 8 or 9/10 from me. |

| I give it no more than 6/10 There is much better and more emotional movies out there. Like The Princess and the Pilot or Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki |
