I have to disagree partly because of DragonBall GT. IMO, GT is underrated because it's good for what it is (an extension of the series) and I think it provided a better ending for the series than DBZ did.

hmm .. lets see

1. Code Geass: (both seasons) particularly the second season, it does not deserve to be ranked 5th o.0;; on this site
2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: i'm assuming its so high up because all the guys have some kind of Haruhi fetish >.>;; i don't get it..
3. Lucky Star: i. hate. konata. couldn't get passed episode 3 or so..
4. Nabari no Ou: a lot of people on my friends list list like it o.0 i had to force myself to watch it and only got up to ep 13 xD
5. Chobits: another one i'm guessing is so popular cause of the cute girls o.0;;
6. Fruits Basket: haven't watched the anime.. but if its like the manga definitely over rated o.0

I got as far as somewhere in the first episode of Chobits where the guy was inappropriately touching some unconcious girl and decided there and then it's a load of crap.

If you want to get banned just say so.

First of all Paki, at least watch gurren lagann before you call it overrated

1. Bleach
2. Darker Than Black
3. Fate Stay Night

I enjoyed darker than black and fate stay night a lot but i think theyre a bit overrated

I feel that Rebuild of Evangelion is kinda overrated (but it's still great, don't get me wrong). The original series had better pacing, in my opinion. NGE isn't about action, it's about character drama and psychological mind raping epic fuckwin.

And honestly, it feels too similar to what George Lucas did recently with the original Star Wars trilogy.

Ummm, I fail to see the worth of your argument when Rebuild of Evangelion is exactly like the first six episodes of NGE, save the scene with Kaoru on the moon. All they did so far was make the animation better.

The pacing is much quicker and there's more of a focus on action, they also removed a lot of the character development (the "emo stuff" as some people will call it) involving Shinji and changed the order of several scenes, among other things.

I'm not saying Rebuild is bad, I gave it a 9/10, but it doesn't deserve to be ranked in MAL's top 30 when the original series is barely in the top 100.

Of course it's faster pace, they had to fit six 30 minute episodes into a hour and fourty minute movie. Honestly we haven't lost much character drama, seeing as we haven't even delved into the heart of the series yet, but focusing on action isn't a bad thing. Those early battles are really cool.

The reason it's ranked in MAL's top 30 when the original series is barely in the top 100 is probably because people didn't like the endings.

Actually, it's probably because of "Sequel Drop Syndrome" - people who hated season 1 with a passion don't watch the sequel. It's a pretty universal pattern.

Lucky Star, FLCL, Gurren Lagann. those are the top 3 from what I've seen

Haven't seen much of Gurren Lagaan, first episode was really good but the second episode is so boring that I just cannot be bothered to finish it. The only reason i started watching it is because poeple were on about some entity using galaxies as shuriken, and Kamina (who IMO really isn't as awesome as everyone says).

I felt the same way. It was really hard to get past the second episode. I just decided I didn't want to watch 20-whatever episodes of it. But at least Yoko is hot.

I don't think that Naruto is overrated, Rankings of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden are 442 and 413, respectively. DO YOU THINK IT IS OVERRATED???
About the popularity of the Naruto Show, it is no.1, of course. It is a good show to watch, everyone likes it, so what's wrong with that?

If Naruto had no FILLERS, you would say that it is the BEST, not? It is essential that Naruto has so many fillers (over 300 eps).

Gurren Lagann is a bit overrated, but it s a show that deserves to be in top 10.

Lucky Star is the shitiest one. However, if I was a girl, there is a small posibility that I would watch it. I cant stand Azumanga Daioh, as well.

Popularity on MAL does not equal everybody liking it. It just means a lot of people have watched it. I can tell you without doubt everybody doesn't like it. There is a lot of better anime out there.



No, I wouldn't. Fillers or not, Naruto is nothing special. It is FAR from being the best.

Whoa there, cool your jets for a minute. I'm not exactly Paki's BFF, but there are quite a few inaccuracies in this post that I can't really let slide. There are a great deal of reasons why people dislike Naruto and/or think it's overrated. Fillers are rarely anywhere near the top of that list. The top two are generally a) It's really not very good (the characters are cliche stereotypes with little believeable motivation, the plot moves slowly if at all, the art is so-so) and b) it has a mountain of rabid fans who exclaim "OMG nARUTO Izz t3H B0M50Rz!!!!111!!" whenever someone actually points this out. Naruto definitely isn't the worst anime out there, but it's also not the best by far, and that combination of mediocrity and popularity is the reason why the majority of anime fans see it as grossly overrated. It ruins anime conventions for the rest of us when 80% of available merchandise is based on a show that 80% of the anime community doesn't even like.

Also, you might want to take another look at your facts. Firstly, Naruto has about 300 episodes total (including Shippuden), not 300 fillers. That number is closer to 100. Secondly, at least on MAL, Bleach (which I ironically like even less) is more popular than Naruto.

We're not here to make other people change their minds about a certain anime or to start another one of those smart and useful internet fights, we're here to simply state an opinion.
