In my opinion, with a plot like this it will be a crime if the authors will end the series with the last episode of the "Hellsing Ultimate" and few(or maybe even more, but even 10 is not so much) episodes of "Hellsing: The Dawn". With this plot, the storyline is endless.

Actually the plot is already set in stone since September 2008. Hellsing manga is completed, OVA guys are not writing the plot, they are adapting what has been already written. And they should end it where it originally ends, otherwise it will be a crime against the cannon. So many initially great adaptations failed for this reason I can't even count. Ultimate should stay true to Hirano's idea.

nice episode!!! so Walter is scared of being a trash due to aging that is why he wish to fight alucard and prove his still the best and at his prime lol, im confuse though on why Walter regenerates very fast as a vampire that his body slowly being destroyed by it, so whats so special on his vampire curse then? why he is not just a normal vampire?

and anyone knows when the last episode will come out? i mean its confirmed that it will end on episode 10 right?

Well, there are no normal vampires in Millennium to begin with, they are all artificial vampires turned by Doc. The thing is, it seems like the whole artificial vampirisation process usually takes time to be done right, while in Walter's case it was done in a hurry in a matter of hours right on the battlefield. So there is a penalty for the rush.
and anyone knows when the last episode will come out? i mean its confirmed that it will end on episode 10 right?

Right. OVA team is aiming for a summer release according for their blog, but it sounds more like what they are wishing for, not what is already decided for 100%, so there may be a delay. There is no certain official date so far.

@Klimat, so, why did Alucard became a vampire then? Or because of who?
@Klimat, and, so, when Ultimate will end, and "The Dawn" will end, this will be a end to the Hellsing project? Shit :(
Oh, and another comment about the episode:
I was happy when i saw Alucard as a child in this episode, and i was unhappy when i saw, how his unlce or grandpa-shemale was doing with him..

I love seeing Alucard when he was about 30-40 years old!

In the flashback they showed he devoured some blood of his executed decapitated comrades from the floor right before the executor managed to pull off his thing on Alucard.
There were explanations about how drinking of blood effects you if you are already a vampire, about how and in what circumstances it can turn an ordinary human into a vamp there will be more explanations in the last episode.

That was not a relative of any kind! You hasn't been paying enough attention. That was some hight-ranked Turk from The Ottoman Empire. For why young Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia, ended up among Turks, read his biography.

The big question that this ova left me with: Is OVA 10 gonna last around 2 hrs? Because they still have lots of things to cover before they finish the last OVA, OVA 10 and in 45 minutes I seriously doubt everything will fit in that short amount of time, that's why I'm thinking they will go ahead with either an OVA of 90 mins or 2 hrs., which is fine with me.

Klimat said:
And here I wanted to reassure you everything is going according the plan...
OVAIX covered half of chapter 66 ("Might and Magic 2"), all the way through chapters 68-75 and the first half of chapter 76 ("Lunatic Dawn") which gives us 9 manga chapters, 148 manga pages in total.
So for OVAX they have 13 and half chapters, 235 pages to go.
So, yeah, it looks like you have the point and it's going to be longer from 45 minutes.
The longest OVA so far is OVAIV, 56 minutes long. It covers chapters 20-27, 29-34. In total it's 14 chapters, 245 pages. Looks like we can have something like this with the last episode.

I doubt that they will make it like ova IV, 56 mins long. Remember this is practically a new team behind OVA 9 and 10 if not mistaken, that's why there's a chance they will do something different, let's hope they can pull it off with 120 or 90 mins and not very rushed with less time.

Because in 56 mins I doubt they can cover:

Lots of things that need to be cleared and finished, anyways let's see what happens :)

BTW Why did The Major appeared in Alucard's past, when he was about to get his head chopped?

Am i the only one that thought this was their first major c*ck up. I really enjoyed the series up to and, including 8. Was so pumped for 9. 8 ended on an awesome cliffhanger between Anderson and Alucard. was looking forward to an epic battle. then... first few mins Andersen is dead. gives some insight in to a past that wasn't really explored enough all to late. There was far to much of dialogue in preparation for action, then there was actual action.

Hellsing has always had a decent amount of unnecessary exposition before battles, but the pay off was always worth it , not here. i mean really, what actually mattered in this ep, only makes up about 15 mins of it. And now instead of Anderson, an awesome character that has a respectable rivalry, simple but passionate reason to fight, we get Walter. Who, and i will say was awesome when he was on the side of Integra. But i feel his reasoning for betrayal is so unimaginative, and as a villain doesn't compare to Anderson. The animation was nice, and it had a few good battle moments, but does not live up to the expectation, not even close when compared to its predecessors.

5/5.
I love seeing this side of Walter (I'm not talking about his sexy appearance, indeed he looks amazing but that's just besides the point). To see him as someone who has worked so hard for just that moment, who has betrayed someone who, I believe, he even grew to love. He's even betrayed his own humanity for that hour/minutes. That's what I call dedication and I admire him for that.

Can't wait for X.

This OVA was well-put. Better than the previous one but not as good as OVA VІІ. The fights were quite epic ones nonetheless, and Walter was the most epic character in this OVA for sure. I feel kind of bad about Anderson, because he was my most favorite character, but I guess he was dead already in the previous OVA. Alucard got raped as a boy.. That’s really bad.
So we have to wait until the last OVA comes out to see the battle against that vampire punk which looks exactly like Seras? Blah.
The ED was great!

Young Walter is nowhere near as special as old Walter IMO.
Alucard summed up what I though when he said his old body was 'one trillion times more beautiful' then his new incarnation.
Being an aging, wise, charming yet slightly sinister, formal butler and dark horse in combat all added up to interesting character and 'hot grandad', something you don't see often, now, as a 'bitter young fighter', he's nothing special - not even same character.:(

Umm what are you talking about. That did happen. When Walter came out and Yumie tried to kill him, she got killed by Walter, and then he tried to shoot Walter but that guy blew a hole through his face, and gave him bandages. It was around the 17 min 30 second mark.

He never said that scene didn't happen, only that it didn't disappoint (which I agree btw).

Nice Hellsing stuff although i expected a little more. The Anderson battle ended kind of fast after he got all immortal and shit. And the battle with the battler basically was Alucard getting his ass handed to him and still winning simply because his such a freak that is almost impossible to kill. Ok he used a nice little trick there at the end i have to admit.
Still despite a few pointers it was an enjoyable watch.

So Walter did all that staff so he can kill Alucard? Why so obsessed exactly?
Now i hope to see Seras kick ass in the last OVA and that the last will be a 90min one.

Ah damn it, the long waiting between episodes must have gotten into me, this was still entertaining and interesting but somehow the awesomeness of this series just dropped a bit for me. Maybe I'm getting senile or something... LOL

Anyway I liked that Seras still thanked Walter for everything before she got on her way. Integra is cool as ever, shooting catboy Schrödinger in the head while he was welcoming them was classic and so much win in my book.

I hope I get my groove back or whatever before I watch the last episode next time. T_T

The major had some pretty good lines on this one.

Alucard's past is revealed. So he was a fighter for god, killing, burning and razing every town he saw, but he lost faith in god and he turned into a vampire. At'least thats how i interpreted it. One thing i love about Hellsing that it doesn't do what most japanese show's do: putting in akward exposition. I'm glad it wasn't thoroughly explained how it happened.

The finale of Alucard vs Anderson was once again done very well. And it was more detailed than in the manga-version so i could once again see what was happening. I almost teared a bit when Anderson kicked the bucket.

Loved Walters entrance. Aaw yeah, i'm a young rebel now. Yumie died, fingers crossed that the mangapages that had Yumie and Heinkel in them will be animated. And it was really nice how they did Yumie's sword attack.

I loved how things are timed differently than you imagined them to be. When Integra shot Schrödinger right after her last word i laughed out loud.

Alucard vs Walter. It was well animated. Just like the last 8 episodes. The part when Luke comes out of Baskerville's stomach was the best. Especially Alucard cocking his gun with his teeth. I wonder that did Walter make Luke throw the knife and shoot Alucard or did Luke do that on his own? I always thought that Walter controlled the dog itself through Luke.

The ending song was pretty ok J-rock about the female-characters of Hellsing. Not as good as the last episodes song, which still plays in my head. "Goes to download the OST"

Perhaps so. I started to wonder this because right after Alucard calls Luke an "undigested lump that couldn't even become shit," Luke throws his knife.
