Here's an excerpt from an article about the video that has now gone viral:

msnbc.com said:
A video purporting to be the work of an angry father teaching his daughter a lesson by shooting bullets through her laptop is the viral video of day. The father, who identifies himself as Tommy Jordan, says his daughter broke ground rules when using Facebook, and posted disrespectful remarks about him there.

He retaliates by laying out a case against her in an 8-minute video, concluding it with firing 8 bullets through her computer. The video was posted on YouTube and supposedly on the 15-year-old girl’s Facebook page last night. By mid-morning, it had more than 1 million views, and it sparked debate across the Web – some cheered on the father’s "tough love," while others accused him of abuse.

So what do you guys think? Is this parenting at its best or did he cross the line?

(Btw, you can see the family's reaction to the video going viral on his facebook page)

Was gonna post this a few hours ago but meh, didn't feel like it since I don't even use FB.

I found the video hilarious when he pulled out the .45.

I would just shoot the daughter instead. It's not a laptop's fault after all.

lol my girlfriend was trying to tell me about this video last night but I wasn't really paying attention. Now that I've seen it it's kind of entertaining.

The daughter is definitely disrespectful and crossed the line. The dad was justified in being upset but he was probably being a little over dramatic about it all. I guess that's where his daughter got it from.

What, he can't just sell it or install educational software and mail it to some poor Indian city or something?

Seen the vid earlier this morning

Shooting the laptop was the better option and the funniest as well and beats anyone getting hurt.

It made me laugh, but I don't think it's the smartest move he could've made xD

She does sound like a brat though :x

Completely reasonable move by the father, kudos. Give the man a 21 gun salute.

It's always hard to guess who's in the right and wrong just based off videos, let alone a single video.

While I can sympathize to a degree with the daughter, I have to say at least in this video the father seemed to be reasonable.

Shooting the laptop on the other hand, well that is just nonsense. Shooting it just shows a lack of restraint, and nobody gains from it.

He has a right to be this pissed, because of how she acts.
I wouldnt say that his actions are the right one to take, since they are just destructive, but I can understand why he got this angry.
She on the other hand is just stupid.
And to think she can have all she wants and good relationship with her parents if only she was a bit smarter in handling them.
But no, facebook mentality is so prevalent today.
