This is such a beautiful show. ;____;

Glad to see the guy figuring out about Hotaru and things couldn't have ended any better.

Again another touching story, yet it didn't touch me anywhere.

I was on the brink of tears when Akifumi was yelling "Wait!" when he saw Hotaru in firefly form. Then came the beautiful scene with the bunches of fireflies... Simply great episode to watch.

I guess my favorite part about this episode is that fact that Natsume gets confronted with the idea that he might one day loses his spirit-sight (I guess I'll call it that). It provides nice character development and makes Natsume into a more rounded person. He wanted to get rid of them for so long, but now that he's grown attached to several of them, he doesn't want to totally lose his gift. I know I'd be sad if that happened to me...

What an incredible episode, sad yet so beautiful. And yeah I wouldn't mind having a Nyanko-sensei myself xD

I've download every single episode of Natsume, as much as I like the show, I can't bring myself to watch more than 1 a day. normally I rush through everything.

perhaps it's the style of this anime I take it ^_^. Takes a while to digest.

I can always count on this anime to put me in a good mood ^^

Somehow, I always end up crying with Natsume Yuujinchou.
It's so touching!

I can't seem to stop watching this series. I'm almost done with it in less than one day. Its a pity too. Its its a great series but there is only 13 episodes. After the first season I think I'll read the manga.

It was another heart warming episode. That love story just did my day.

I found this episode the most touching so far..The bittersweet ending to the love story and then when Nyanko-sensei told Natsume that he'd stay w/ him even if he lost his ability to see spirits--under the guise of wanting the BoF, of course--was just so cute to me.

I have to say, this was the best episode yet. Such a bittersweet little storyline. So simple, yet so beautiful.

The fleeting romance between Hotaru and Akifumi… Natsume’s fear of losing his ability to see spirits… The scene with the thousands of fireflies… The bittersweet feeling it left at the end…
I couldn’t stop crying during the entire episode. It was simply perfect.

In his first dream he heard someone calling out Kiyo, and decided to name her Kiyo. However when he had the complete dream, we hear her saying "suki yo" over and over, which means I love you basically. So what he heard at first was a fragment of I love you," and named her after her cries.

SakR9: "Why did she have to wear that mask if at the end, it just came off?"

It seems like in this show, the masks allow certain spirits to appear humanoid, when in reality they are an animal spirit (sparrow, firefly, etc). By taking the mask off, she shed her youkai humanoid form and became the animal once again, and in doing so became a mortal fly. She made a sacrifice so that he could see that she didn't forget him, and to wish him well in his life.

Man tears were shed this episode.

EDIT: I realize the original posters probably won't ever read my explanations but I figure someone else might be curious. Also, I almost hope the next episode is more comedic (as the trailer suggests), I need a break from the Bawwww inducing stories as I marathon this.

That was great. The part where the fireflies started to come out was really beautiful.

I agree, and anyhow, I literally ran circles around the room yelling(?) 'WHY WHY WHY' while doing something that resembles sobbing. Yes it was a great way to finish but, just why? I give my big bag of respects to Hotaru. The boss.
