Another ep. with cousin girl being lonely, but this time with police uncle being busy. Kuma accompanied her (. Seeing photo of her mother, cousin girl being sick. She feeling that he's not her real father.

Police uncle is not satisfied with the case, either.

Cousin girl experienced lonely feeling during the kindergarten, so he doesn't want to tell her anything, even with the day that the parent is required to go.

The guy helped police uncle to face cousin girl. He gave the cup that aunt used to the guy.

Wow, what a way to start the show...

"Daddy, I WANT IT BLACK!" - lol. Nanako's blush after telling Yu she loved him too, so cute.

Nanako in pain, Dojima's social link in the works as well... He left Nanako while she was hurting, always was a terrible part to go through.. Wished they showed Nanako's mom, an older looking Nanako would have been too much to handle, I guess.

Rise in winter wear ftw! Random: Have they had her stand the way she does in the game, so far? lol.

Nanako's tears, my heart... After she explodes with emotions at her dad, she runs off in the middle of the night, of course...Found it better that Dojima went to talk to her, instead of Narukami...And..more of Nanako's tears...Christ..

Happy family scene to end the episode, pretty good for it not being built up from the beginning, was done fine in my mind. Only thing wrong with this episode was that it went so fast. :( 4/5.

* Justice And Hierophant Arcana obtained after bonding with his family, expect new personas or even a big fusion like last episode.

Next Scent: Culture Festival, 2nd best comedy part of the series, IMO. I expect tons of "lulz". Perhaps even a rank up with Yukiko, Rise or Sun arcana.

Blu-ray Volume 4 out on 2/22 - Perhaps episode 9 won't look as, "bad" now that it's on blu-ray.

I like Naoto's mobile phone~
Now white is stylish.

Meh. They made it look like they were going to combine Nanako and Dojima's Social Links with the main plot, but they didn't. I'm slightly disappointed and highly concerned. If the next episode is focused on the Culture Festival, that leaves them with six episodes out of twenty five, and given the amount of stuff they've yet to cover, I'm afraid they're going to rush the ending and turn it into a train wreck. Granted, they could just make more episodes, but still.

The Animation handled the Dojima/Nanako S. Links pretty much perfectly (QUALITY aside). I teared up playing the game, and I teared up here. And that song that played until the end of the episode...oof. Heartbreaking. The only thing I wish is that they had hinted at the family tragedy earlier in the series, naturally and progressively. But, taking this episode by itself, it was spot on.

This was a sad episode. I already knew what was going to happen from having done the Hierophant and Justice S.Links in the game, but I still cried at the end. Poor Nanako. ;_; The anime did a good job at portraying the relationship between Ryotaro and Nanako Dojima, and the newcomer, Yuu.

School Festival event is next, one of my all-time favorite events from the game. I'm a little worried about how they're going to end this; if they're going for
, it's going to be all of 10 minutes long at best. Which is going to piss everyone off, especially fans.

I loved how the animators never miss an opportunity to sneak Aika in nearly every episode, even if it's a trivial role at best. Even as a bit player, she's awesome nonetheless. :)

So finally, will we see the Sun S.Link next episode? It's about the only one left other than Empress and Judgement (which is automatic in the game). I guess it's safe to say Hierophant and Justice are maxed now. Only thing I didn't like about this episode was it was actually too slow-paced, so 4/5 here.

They can't really integrate it because Nanako hasn't appeared on TV and to have her appear on TV, having the episode dedicated to Nanako/Dojima and worried about when the kidnapper going to strike next is going to make it into a giant incoherent mess. Having the episode solely dedicated to Nanako/Nojima's S.Link is a wise decision as nothing gets in the way. Especially now that we're reach near the end.

I don't like the next episode.

Haha, well technically they "are" filler, in a more traditional sense of the word. They are what the game uses to fill the lulls between the major beats of the game's story. Some Social Links are very necessary while others don't really have much bearing aside from giving some character to side-characters and the main-characters . That said, in the more commonly used way however, the only "fillers" are the Summer episodes about Nanako and Yuu, done to conveniently get rid of a large chunk of relatively unimportant Social Links and to give some needed spotlight to Nanako who the anime had neglected.

Nanako's and Doujima's Social Links however are probably the farthest away you can get from filler, no matter what definition of filler you use, because they are most necessary backstory to Yuu's family.

The animation isn't THAT bad. Sure there is all kinds of QUALITY going on with the faces and when a character is shown in the distance. But it isn't unwatchable and some of the backgrounds look really good (The riverbank scene in this episode for example).

Anyways, this is probably the episode I liked most so far. They really did the Justice and Hierophant links well.

This episode was good - it stayed true to the game while being relatively creative with the scenes. The extra one off songs are great, and major plus from the OST perspective. However, I have a niggling concern about the pacing of the story.

At first I thought it would be over too soon back in episode 6 or so. At episode 12 I thought they were doing great, but by episode 18 I feel as though its going to be a rushed ending. IF episode 19 is all social story + social links w/o any build up to main plot then I'm going to be even more anxious. While I think that they can do justice to all but the
i.e. up until the end of 24, episode 25 will be rushed and waaaay too short (although in the game it was rushed, but prolly needs a good two episodes in reality).

I like this show most when the comedy aspect is in the foreground. The Social Links and the fights are not especially good, I would be fine without them. I won't rate this episode, don't like Nanako and was unable to get emotional, probably would have enjoyed it more if it hadn't been the case.
