I've added your suggestions to the first post + added a vote for Galaxy Express. Also added 2 more suggestions of my own

You should also say if you have already seen movies from the suggestion list and I will collect those numbers too (I happen to have seen porco rosse and summer wars already) for the decision process.

So the number of votes/suggestions anyone can give is unlimited, but of course only 1 per movie ^^.

e: It was meant more as "Have already seen and do not necessarily want to rewatch". So just state those movies you do not want to rewatch or strictly avoid because of other reasons.

Already watched Porco Rosso, Summer Wars, and 999, so voting for Cyborg 009.

Suggestions I'm ready for:

Flanders no Inu
Metropolis
Inaka Isha

So bad it's good:

Genma Taisen
Odin: Starlight Mutiny
Roots Search

Long list of oldies:

Barefoot Gen
Gauche the Cellist
Only Yesterday
Piano no Mori
Princess Arete
The Star of Cottonland
Time Stranger

... and some more on PTW

I've been meaning to get around to more Ghibli movies, so I'd be up for Whisper of the Heart, but all of the recommendations so far I'd be willing to watch.
To be honest, I don't really have many suggestions.
Maybe Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. That might be a little dark for some people though, but I'm just going from the description. I thought it sounded interesting.

If you're suggesting them even though you have seen them already I assume you want to rewatch them. It was meant more as "Have already seen and do not necessarily want to rewatch" so I won't put you down for those two.

@Envoy: I've added Metropolis & Flanders no Inu to the list + your vote for Cyborg 009 (Inaka Isha is only a short so I left it out for now, hope that's agreeable). Didn't add all of your other suggestions/ptw, but if you want me to add some more specific ones just tell me (some of those interest me since forever so maybe we can watch one of those additionally without the club, I'll comment you back on this ^^.

@Performance: Gave a vote to whisper of the heart and added Jin-Roh (+ I gave it a vote too, would have suggested it myself but forgot about it).

Oh I see. :)

Well, the thing is: I don't mind rewatching any movie as long as I liked them.

On that note, I wouldn't mind rewatching Metropolis and Jin-Roh.

That's good to know, I personally am not that much a fan of rewatching movies though, I have to admit.

I'll collect specific votes/suggestions + "vetos" to see which movie gets the highest score. A neutral stance like yours will not be put down specifically, except you want to watch/rewatch some series more than others, hope that's okay.

On another note I think we can limit the time for suggestions to a few days, when I was saying one week I didn't think there'd be so many replies so soon :)
I probably regret this post by now.

I probably won't be joining in on simul watching movies any time soon -- I have a hard time sitting through movies uninterrupted, even if they are enjoyable. Cyborg 009 Movie is probably the only one I would consider since it is relatively short, so I guess I will shoot a vote its way.

So only a vote for Flanders no Inu, not for Galaxy Express and Cyborg 009?

e: In any case Cyborg 009 has the most votes so far, I'd say we make it our first project.

Everyone who is interested (Envoy, Performance, Dunky, possibly others) should post when they are free in a certain time period.

So let's say Wednesday, Thursday, Friday next week. Write when you are sure that you have time on each of those days and also your Time Zone (GMT +/- x).

I'll do the math and chose a time where hopefully everyone is available.
I probably regret this post by now.

I should be available on any of those days.
I'm in EST, and I could probably be on from 4-6 and 8-10. My schedule is pretty flexible. Odds are I can fit something in.

I guess you're still sleeping and with at least 6 hours of time differences involved it would be helpful to know when you're awake ^^. I'll put you down from noon to midnight for now though, that should probably be enough to find time where everyone is available.

GMT -5: Friday 8pm - 10pm
GMT +1: Night from Friday to Saturday 2am - 4am

So this is where everyone who showed interest should have time, so I'll set the date to that time. More people are welcome to join of course, if they have time.

I may or may not make this, this weekend is kinda hectic @.@. Shuttling back and forth between university and home, 1 1/2 hour each way, and other plans I have @.@. Only been able to sneak in episodes of on-going anime during work, but none of the simul watches we've been doing, sorry!
