Clannad AS hands down, depression lasted for week.

I can relate. Finished it a couple of hours ago and still can't stop crying. It feels like it will take days to recover.

The most depressing thing I've watched has got to be One Piece, specifically the Summit War Saga. The week it took me to watch it was an emotional rollercoaster and then had me depressed for at least another week after that.

Clannad, Angel Beats!, Steins;Gate, Air and Kanon are others that have really got me as well.

Recently, Shinsekai Yori,
No bittersweet bullshit, just left a dark empty hole and made me hate humanity a bit more.
2 days of story hangover.

My mind literally tries to block thinking about the anime anymore because it ruins my whole day, despite being an amazing anime.

Lots of shows made me shed a tear or two, but none of them affected me to the extent Shinsekai Yori did, and I don't even like it all that much (the anime adaptation anyway). It's such a depressing and somewhat tragic story.

Most depressing anime I've seen was Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien and Chrono Chrusade ending. After watching KGNE I had depressing feeling for a week. And CC ending was really sad.

one day I'll be a champion at shitposting!

To Love Ru depressed me.
seeing him have so many friends and females friends, and seeing him always out with his friends doing some stuff and having fun and not spending most of his day at home--media makes me want to have his life, or have at least half amount as friends as he have.

Texhnolyze. Just the whole air about the show was very heavy and depressing. Watching 3 minutes of an episode felt like an eternity. I couldn't enjoy the show that much because of just how trying the atmosphere of it was.

Texhnolyze. There's absolutely no hope for anyone right from the beginning, and yet things somehow manage to get worse as the series progresses. I had a hard time trying not to cry as I watched the ending.

Not really a major depression but Tokyo Magnitude 8 and Ef: Tales of Memories are definitely the saddest anime I ever watch.

Clannad AS is also sad when
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

http://www.classzone.com/books/lnetwork_gr08/page_build.cfm?content=analyz_media&ch=30

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Whats the most sad/depressing anime youve ever watched?

for me its:
Naruto (When Haku dies)

Funny enough that was actually the only scene that made me tear aswell, the final episodes of that arc with Zabuza and Haku.
The rest of the whole Naruto + Ship. episodes I didnt, maybe of enjoyment with Naruto coming in with Sage mode vs Pain or the current episodes with his amazing form :)

Other than that,

Clannad + AS
Lots of sad / depressing moments really.

Steins;Gate
Just got to me, it's more toward the 2nd half of the show though.

Ano Hana
Code Geass (end mostly)
Toradora
Kokoro Connect

Wolf Children (movie)
Death Note (end)
Bungaku Shoujo
One Piece (lots of moments throughout the 600+ episodes)
Mirai Nikki (again ... near the end)

I'd rather not tell why because of spoilers and what not :)
Also this is not in a negative way for me.

Here's my opinion from. the rank is from top to down:

Anohana
Clannad AS
Angel Beats
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0
Air
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu Finale
Kotoura-san
Hotarubi no mori e
Hotaru no Haka
5cm/s

most of it made me cry. especially for the first 5

I though anyone already knew about that first 5, they r all so depressing.

for Nogizaka, basically this anime came with Romcom, but almost in the end of it's episode (in S1,S2 and S3) it will bring u to tears, but tears in happinest.

Kotoura, the plot combined with ending song make this anime so depressing.

Hotarubi and Hotaru also make that sad.

5cm/s just the romance, and i though the ending was hanging. but it's also touching

I don't know, anime is way too obvious with their death flags for me to become too attached to a character before they die. Besides that, most of these series don't run long enough for me to become too attached to begin with. I generally avoid overly dramatic/sad shows since I find them overly predictable, which severely dampens their emotional impact.

I suppose the closest I've got is Nami stabbing herself in One Piece. It didn't hit me hard enough to cry but they did sort of come out of left field in a series that was mostly upbeat up until that point and the prior crew member flashbacks simply didn't have the same impact.

Im happy i dont live a tragic life like Makoto

Well we don't know how many movies there are going to be and how long they are going to be.It could end up being LOTR the anime with 3 3 hour films. HF really needs to be films otherwise censorship would ruin it.

Nana. Went into an emotional coma for like a month. First time i watched I didn't finish it, because i couldn't take the feels. It took me almost a year to work up the courage to finish it. Never wanted to punch fictional characters in the face that much ever before. I was also just a more emotional person in general while watching it.

School Days. So many lessons.
Everyone chases after their own happiness at the expense of others, and sometimes it doesn't end well. Its relatively easy to cheat on someone. Naive people will get taken advantaged of. Love is irrational and a double edged sword. People are very self centered. Relationships take alot of effort and may lead to mentally tearing apart a person.

How I reacted? I started torrenting and watching more anime.
