I don't believe they only consume humans to survive, I'm sure for a lot of them it's become sort of a hobby. Remember that the Rinnes in the very first episode of the series said it was "tasty" when he ate them, and when those twins showed up the guy seemed to quite like the taste as well.

Even if you could survive without eating, I'm sure you'd be tempted to touch the sweets...

Weren't Rinne nothing but artificially created servants; they really wouldn't even need to exist and even if they did they would have to follow orders since I'm fairly sure those "maids" who took care of Shana were also a variation of Rinne even though they looked mad different from the one you mentioned in the first episode. In any case there reason for denying is solely based on their pride and there are many reasons to prove it; this episode they gave no reason except its too late to back out for fighting in a episode whose sole purpose was to introduce there "reason" to fight after their defeat; also like i mentioned before in a few thousand years something might happen.... I honestly can't see how anyone can justify the Flame Haze's right now, i just don't see it.

Not sure how any of that has anything to do with what I said... It doesn't matter what the Rinne are, if they (and, as I said, the twins as well, who were Tomogara) think eating humans is tasty, they might not stop even when they don't need to eat anymore.

I couldn't imagine never eating anymore, even if I didn't need to eat, could you?

If you actually read it, you would see it does apply; but whatever I'll rephrase

1.Rinne don't "need" to exist thus that is out the window, they are artificially created so that does apply.
2.Even if they act like they do and eat humans over there worse case scenario right? there might be a problem, its not even a guarantee, its like not stepping outside of your house each day because because you might die i mean seriously...
3.Your whole "eating" concept doesn't apply in any shape off form because what you fail to realize is that they aren't human, human concepts don't apply at all, for all we know simply breathing existence in or however the do it in a free flowing world might be tasty or whatever to them i mean is there anything to say either way?
4. Your twins tasty theory is invalid also; because last time i checked they don't eat flesh do they? they eat the existence which humans are made off; who in the world would go through the trouble of eating humans when they can get it for free but simply "breathing"; also I'm sure Yuji would set an established rule so here is what you are suggesting; you would turn down free food to instead try and steal some and risk "jail"...
5. So your who argument resides in the Flame Haze's not trusting that the Denizens will not eat humans right? that's your point? well that's very well possible but do you honestly think that after seeing their personalities that that is the main reason? the second Yuji gave his speech they went running because they realized how useless their fight really is; and in this episode they were suppose to find a "new" reason or establish their "old" reason; and unless i got the worst sub group in the world that didn't happen.

Shana constantly makes herself look worse. They fought for many centuries yet there are nothing better. Human still died everyday.

Now Yuuji offer peace (for thousands of year). They refuse...because they know it's not the best solution. However, instead of trying to negotiate and find the best solution together. They choose to fight!! It looks like they come from barbarian tribe, knowing nothing but fighting. Living for hundred years didnt make them able to read the book. How sad...

Shana & Co are now the villain for me.

I agree with everyones opinion about the Flame Haze still comming off pretty bad including shana. Though it has always been stated that Shana is a Flame Haze to protect the world balance and order and she said there are still risks so i guess that is enough reason for her. Though it still seems like the best plan to create the other world to me.

Though in the ed song scenes Sairei no Hebi when his face was in Blutsauger (Yuuji's sword) he had a pretty evil looking smile there. It was the 2nd image before the image of Yuuji and Shana clashing. So Sairei no Hebi may be holding something back from Yuuji, but i hope not i dont want to see Yuuji being played as the fool. Or maybe Yuuji knows that Sairei no Hebi is trying to pull something behind his back and has a counter for it.
Im not sure if those 2 can hide things from one another but im pretty sure they can.

some confuse about this episode:
what's shana's idea? and what are those rings that shana held in the beginning?
and what is pheles doing in the beginning?
but i would like to find them out in the upcoming episodes. so it will be like surprise LOL
i hope it will come amazing till the last episode...

Pheles shows up again and looks like shes taking action. That was her using the mailman right? I wonder who those 3 people are that even Bal Masque wants their help. Great buildup episodes, good to have a break from constant fighting.

Oh shit Yuji shows up again in Misaki City next episode in front of Yoshida. Verry interested to see how that goes. Wonder if Yoshida is going to end up using her cross hmm.

Shana with her melon pan. :D

Couldn't they create a world where there isn't humans instead and have free flowing powers of existence? >_>

That's what i thought it was; a empty world with free flowing existence solely for Denizens; but even if there were humans for the reason's i mentioned before i still think it would work out since they wouldn't need to consume humans to survive.

What i just noticed however; The Flame Haze's may not believe the plan because before the Snake of the Festival didn't have the Reiji Maigo and for some reason i can't get it out my head that it will eventually play a big role since the Bal Masque was trying to acquire it so long and in the first season it created a fountain of endless existence which could have foreshadowed the endless flow of existence in the new world.

The ED is pretty great.

And just when I said that this season needs more melonbuns... here they are! XD

Who was that bunch near the end? They don't look like the Gods.

They are so-called "Gods" but actually all of them contracted to Crimson Lords like any other flame haze. The real gods of crimson realm are alastor, snake of the festival and other one who will be revealed later
