According to their official press release, FUNimation has licensed the TV anime Highschool DxD.

FUNimation will simulcast Highschool DxD on Mondays as it airs and has plans to release the series on DVD and Blu-ray.

Although this is not a great show by any stretch of the word...I have been enjoying it a lot so maybe I will preorder the DVDs depending.

Funimation always licenses shows with lots of tits. They always seem to sell well so it would only be expected that they continue to license them. At least this show isn't absolutely terrible like some of the other fanservice shows that they've licensed.

Funimation licensing another fanservice anime. Why is this not surprising.

They really come up with the worst fucking advertising campaigns for these shows. Maybe that works for them since both of those shows did surprisingly well.

Yeah, can't read Japanese and I'm never quite sure it's worth the effort to look for someone translating the novel in English. If it's a good then....maybe I will get my hands on it some day down the road(since while I can't read it now, I will be learning some Japanese pretty soon).

Your sentences contradict each other. If they sold well, clearly their advertising campaigns were great :P.

Anyway, it was expected, but I still lol'd a bit when I saw the only title from this season FUNi picked up so far is the full-on boobie show.

This should be interesting to see how the show turns out.

I guess I wasn't clear with my wording. I was going for more of a "Modern Warfare syndrome" or a "Twilight syndrome" where no matter how terrible it is, it'll still have record sales.

Not all the chapters have been translated yet but it should be enough for you to read and know a bit more about the story. Besides all the ecchi and fan-service, I really enjoy it.

Damn I fucking hate that niche, considering sekirei is a good series. Hell, most youtube comments on the sekirei promos are people telling Funi off for treating it like some softcore porn.

Yea sex sells, but most fans actually CARE about the plot of this show. Plus it doesn't help trying to recommend a series, and you get crazy looks.

And was hoping Sentai would grab DxD..dammit
