I was not expecting any romance in any of these shows nor does it seem to fit in if your asking me.

Romance tends to cause more problems in a story when it's shoehorned in, anyway.

Then again nearly every popular show, movie, and book in existence has some form of romance, no matter how good or bad it is. It's almost like crack for people; they HAVE to have it all the time.

That makes a valid point about why Satou might have said something, i.e. the Rinne situation. I haven't started that one just yet so I don't all the details, but I can see how a 3 girls vs 3 guys setup could be assumed to be heading towards romance by a lot of people. Nipping that in the bud is a more reasonable motivation than... well, whatever other motivation he could have had, I'm not sure exactly what would make sense.

I am totally okay with this. In fact, I'm happy Sato has decided to do this.

Lagrange and Mouretsu are my two favourite series this season. If this means more action, sci-fi, awesome mecha and then I'm all for it. Let's face it, not every anime with a female lead has to be some yuri otaku fantasy, and neither does every anime with a guy and a girl with the appropriate sexual organs have to end with a happily married couple mashing their bits together. Anime is absolutely woeful with romance sometimes, and any news that points towards my favourite shows not developing into a badly written soap opera down the line is good news indeed.

I look forward to more badass stuff from these series indeed, especially Lagrange!

guys i love romance just as much as the next guy but it isnt that big a deal that there isnt any

i mean look at gintama, that doesnt have romance in the slightest and its still great and the relationships are great despite not being romantic

I wouldn't care if Moretsu Pirates didn't have romance in it. And I'm glad it's not shojo-ai because I'm not a fan of shojo-ai/yuri.

Well, I was GOING to watch Rinne no Lagrange, but now... No. I think Romance in the only possible aspect I was interested in, knowing that it is cut out now has detered me from this series.
