naikou said: The series could have been good even from this point. Of course being an older anime fan it almost reminded me of "Welcome Back Kotter".I mostly enjoyed the episode. The outrageous situations like torturing the students and breaking down the wall made me question my suspension of disbelief, but in the end I like how the situations were resolved, even if they did come off as a bit cheesy sitcom-ish. The amount ecchi scenes was fine for a first episode, but I hope we don't fall into a pattern of constant fanservice. I imagine you could do a lot with a cast of delinquents as long as they're properly characterized. The ending was interesting. Onizuki got the ecchi shot he always wanted from Mizumi. Makes me wonder if they ever kept thier promice?? |

This was a great opening to the series. Despite the fact that the show is ten years old, it still has that "relevant" feel to it. I enjoyed the gritty dramatic feeling with the show. The way the main character dealt with the students lives was a bit unorthodox, but I think that's what I enjoyed about the show. I feel that GTO has a very high chance of becoming a personal favourite. |

Wooo, Onizuka is awesome. I want him as a teacher. Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.~ |

If this episode had been a 50 min movie/ova ==> direct 10/10 It beats all the other 50 min movie/ova I ever watched in my entire life. "I'm commander Shepard, and Legend of the Galactic Heroes is my favorite anime in the galaxy" |

Finally I get my hands on this show! Pretty liked the first episode, though a bit lengthy IMO. Suffice it to say, this is no shounen-action series. |

See, Onizuka's not rushing into things, like that other guy who was caught. And you can see that his gang is rather famous. |

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. I too was put off by the outdated art, but by the end of the first episode, I changed my mind completely. Great characters and story so far. Mr. Onizuka is fucking awesome. |

I almost died laughing when he came with the sledgehammer to their house. And these openings are ones I definitely won't skip. |
