| Not particularily scary, but very, very eerie. The random dolls didn't creep me out as much as how 'off' all the classmates seemed. The way they were totally emotionless and not doing much at all at first, and then nervous while trying to be cheerful was certainly interesting. The OP is pretty bad (although I'm not surprised, because I very much dislike ALI PROJECT), the ED is nice but not very fitting, the rest of the music worked well with the atmosphere. The art, especially the backgrounds, is lovely. I see someone has already added Ookami Kakushi as a recommendation, and I think I'd agree with that so far as it being what I was most reminded of by this episode... but, Another has impressed me far more so far than Ookami Kakushi ever managed to. |

| I don't even have any hope for the horror part, because the bleak, unnatural mood is laid on far too thick and far too early. It just leaves no room for a significant increase in eeriness when one is actually necessary. I just hope there's at least a decent mystery to this. Incredibly disappointing. |

Who in the world runs all the way to the rooftop just for a creepy girl, when they're already talking to someone? lol. Nonetheless, decent start, hope the coming episodes keeps the "WTF is going on" atmosphere that the manga has... |

| To start off, I hated opening song. It felt completely out of place for a show like this. As far as this episode goes, I really liked it. It felt dark, gloomy, filled with unnatural and evil, just the kind of thing I've been hoping for. I just hope they don't let go of that atmosphere for something more "childish". If the show keeps going like this I'm going to enjoy it. And as for ending song, I think it's fine, not really special, but not bad either. |
| It feels like the class is plotting to against Kouichi or something... otherwise, why wouldn't they tell him anything? especially the important "rules"?? The way that glasses guy gestured for a change in topic is suspicious... Also, the missing fourth floor in the hospital send me chills..... this trivial cultural part adds even more eeriness to the show... Can't wait for the next episode! |

While I wouldn't say it's hopeless, this is sort of how I feel. I like these genres, and I understand what they're going for with the tone, but it's just layed on so very, very thick. The show is trying too hard with the music and flashes of dolls and such. Setting the mood is good and all, but I want it to be scary for what actually happens, not little tricks of presentation. Still, I can see this being pretty interesting once it gears up. Horror anime tends to be a rare treat, though Ookami Kakushi did prove it's far from infallible. |

| Ali Project OP is boss. Awesome start. Very good use of the soundtrack. You don't see much anime incorporating their soundtrack into the scenes so well. I was half-expecting everyone to turn out to be dolls. Or at least Misaki to be a doll. Definitely gonna keep up with this show. |

This series must be best horror series I have ever seen in my list. Everything is perfect although I did not expect the director to be the one who made xxxHolic, he did quite a number of times scared the living crap out of me in that series many times. TBH I did jump at the following, That really caught me nicely. Mei is incredibly creepy. Because of her I will never look the same at Chihiro from Ef, that’s one thing for sure. As such I present a rather interesting list of suspicious events to watch for and discuss of:
About the beginning, the starts was very poignant in that it starts with a damn flowing water only in one section. I assume this is where Mei’s body floated to. The group picture here was interesting for some background. While the town was nicely shown here. The bloody knife here made me think either Mei was murdered or pushed to suicide. Certainly I wonder what of this shrine depiction? Looks suspicious as to why show it. The umbrella point here may refer to a form of abuse. Bullying by poking someone to hurt them with that umbrella is common as sharp point like that can make you bleed. Reminds me a little of the abuse a girl had in Ef. The yacht here suggests that Mei may have killed herself on it. The elevator haunting here suggest Mei is haunting the hospital where she passed away perhaps? Quite the scary depiction of Mei here. Adds to the horror. The depiction of the road with the lights here reminded me of Silent Hill again. More like the first one on PS. While the depiction of Mei here in the rain left another sad impression. Those dolls in the spoiler About the OP, the OP really got me a lot with Mei in the following,  An excellent representation of her in that setting. The beginning with this setup was interesting to see as fear trigger. Itself the episode title looks creepy to me along with the school view shown here. Shown with things flying in the wind. The doll representation were creepy in the spoiler on the floor here wearing a white gown with red roses, the weird looking one here with that hood and the falling doll head here. Looks plain all creepy but what do they represent? The elevator haunting looks to be a good reminder here of Mei’s haunting once again. Do wonder if the coffin here will have vampire meanings at all? Probably not but they are part of horror. Love the fact they use an old American car. A good classic of horrors. About Kouichi, felt bad for him when I saw him in the bed here. Even more so when I saw the blood machine along with the fact it was connected to his lungs. I think that Reiko in the spoiler About miscellaneous things, I find the many classmates showing in the spoiler About the preview, rather interesting to see some old teacher with Mei here and from the looks of the teacher here, he might be the one who organized that insane graduation with Mei’s desk. Reiko looks very MOE here while Izumi looks suspicious of Kouichi here. I still wonder WTF she went back when Kouichi asked about her. Hope to find out next episode. Conclusion is that I am sticking with this for the pure horror in its setting. 8 on 10 for now. BTW special Art in the spoiler While of the ED I did a Image Stitch of it in the spoiler |
| It was more suspense than horror, really, but that might change. Anyways, I definitely like what I'm seeing. If I'm watching an episode and have lost complete track of time, then that's a good thing, and I did lose track of time while watching this episode. I will keep up with this show, as it seems like it's one of the few that's good this season. Also, I noticed they skipped the 4th floor too, but I had already known about 4 being "death" in Asian cultures a long time ago (being born in Asia myself, lol!) |

| Most creepy in this anime are dolls. Seriously, who would evern keep dolls looking like this, it's like instant shit in pants evey time you see them ;s Anyway, that's probly the best serie of this season, which isn't something significant.. |

I know what is the meaning of the umbrella, but i wont throw any spoilers here. Anyway, Looks like i need to see the episode again ^^ The best scene for me was the ending, when he was inside the car and saw Mei in the middle of the rain. The way that the camera moves looks so cool, like a movie, and the sountrack for that scene is very spooky. another one is after mei left the elevator, and went to the morgue. the sound of the distorced siren was a really nice touch. |

| Definitely creepy, reminded me of a horror movie. And I knew there was something about her explanation when she added "Sympathy" and "Screams" ( actually thought the screams part made it a bit obvious). The morgue part, though, evil directors and showing darkened places... I really don't want to be scared to death by something suddenly appearing >.< ... and yeah, the op and ed are nice songs, but for this kind of show they just don't quite fit. |

So far, I've lol'd at the fact that they play eerie (not at all fitting) music during CASUAL conversation. The random dolls flashing, is that supposed to make me "scared?" The character designs are actually very impressive. So far a meh at best adaption at the manga, hope it can prove me wrong and not turn into another Blood-C. If all else fails, it is still pretty to watch. |

It's the #1 thing that still freaks me out no matter what. | It was ok. Besides meeting Mei in the elevator & classroom as well as hearing the conversation between Mei and Kouichi, nothing really happened. I hope the anime dives into story of Mei's death soon. |

| I think this is supposed to be some type of horror anime or creepy or something along those lines, but I found it funny. It kinda felt like a horror parody. They treated everything as if it was all super serious, even light-hearted situations like going to a new school. I find it much more scary when what seems like normal people end up being crazy, but all these characters feel crazy or suspicious right from the get go, so there's never any tension. It doesn't help that they constantly blast this creepy-esque dark score. It's playing about 90% of the time. The OP was pretty shitty as well. Almost all of the dialogue felt forced or unnatural. Not really anything special. Still hoping this will improve though. |

| I cannot say there is something odd about Mei, it almost feels like there is something wrong with everyone and Mei is actually the normal one... and perhaps the main protagonist as well... o.o Nice first episode :D |

| Definitely loved how they established that really mysterious and creepy atmosphere. They've definitely been teasing us about the plot throughout this episode, but that only makes me want the next episode more. Great start and definitely looking forward to more. |

| I'm extremely torn going into this show. On one hand, we have PA Works, which besides True Tears, hasn't really been on good terms with me this past years. Canaan was bleh, Angel Beats was a disappointment and Hanasaku Iroha could have gone the distance but not quite. We also have the director, while doing some good comedy, failed horribly at Blood-C. Finally, the hype everyone was at before this even started. This is kinda like the one with Guilty Crown and look where that ended up. Also, Ali Project. On the other hand, I kind of liked what I saw in this episode. Plus the sound director does some really great pieces at different works. And as usual, PA Works excels at doing almost realistic and beautiful backgrounds. So yeah. Let's hope this goes somewhere. |
